The artist was commissioned, and it was his vision that was being payed for, if it was his decision to make one kid the center of his mural, then that's his decision and they should respect his artistic vision. The subtitles and text slides in this video were not helpful, and added a definite slant to this video. I think it's ridiculous that people reacted the way that they did to the mural. The murals around my city have a racial and cultural overtones. In the western addition most murals are centered around blacks. Down in the mission the murals are Hispanic centered. I don't have a problem with them cause they represent the community they are in and they bring the community together. for the most part the murals are racially glorified stories in nature and no complains cause they logically make scene.
