I met this guy while he was working down here in Ocean Springs Mississippi, he showed up at a songwriters night we were playing at this lil pub, he played the harp guitar for us and i must say i had never heard more beautiful music played live in front of me. He is a very knowledgeable musician and a great person for helping us recover from Katrina.

Not having ever played a 12 string, couldn't you get the same sound out of a 12 string guitar?

i dunno.. A twelve string is octaved in pairs, right? I think a harp guitar is more like adding the bass toned strings of a stand up harp to a guitar, like a second instrument.

No you couldn't get the same sound out of a 12 string at all. No string on a traditional 12 string is lower than the regular low E. This harp guitar has strings much, much lower.
