  • wow! that would have been so tough. it is so easy to get scared in this culture of fear that we live in.

  • Thank you for sharing this great story. I agree with you, fear is an imposter. The fact that you treated these gentlemen with respect speaks volumes. Perhaps the end result may not have occured the way it did, but you making the choice to love made all the difference, especially to you. My favorite part of your story was how your eyes and face LIT up when you spoke of these"gentlemen". Pure love in that look...

  • thank you so much for finding me, now im able to watch and listen to your wonderful works

I subscribed mama - great stuff!!!

    Thanks for sharing!

  • Wow, what a great story, and more helpful in my life at the moment than you could know.

  • thats a wonderful story... i think thats how it should be

if everyone acted like you did the world would be an even nicer place :-)

  • i stumbled across your reading of lucille clifton and i decided to look through the rest of your videos. your stories and opinions have really touched me and i'm looking forward to hearing more from you :)

  • Kim, this is an absolute riveting and inspiring tale of how compassion triumphed over fear and the harmful consequences that you might of experience had you not opted to choose former over the latter. Thank you for sharing this invaluable and life affirming story. I think all of who have listened to you tell your story have learned a valuable life lesson.

  • Stumbled across this - just a note to say thank you. I have to agree with what others have said here, a beautiful story and a great insight into compassion and how it can disarm fear. We need more people like you!

  • Wow... beautiful story, Poetivity. It's very hard to push fear away when it wants to get it's hooks in you, but your story is a reminder that compassion has it's rewards. Good stuff!

  • It's really amazing how your feelings and emotions, and how you display them can affect other people. Beautiful story, thank you for sharing. :)

  • I luckily found you through one of my video quicklinks, go figure. In my mind, fear is a control mechanism, and to perceive your reality with compassion took away all possibility of control. An absolutely excellent video and great story to hear, it amazes me how much the perception of reality can affect those around you in any given situation. I look forward to watching your other videos.

  • thanks Early Wyrm..and welcome!

  • Great story, Kim. I think you are 100% right about fear vs. compassion. What is it that you do for a living (i.e. 'the shows' you go to)?

  • I am an artist Ben. I make and sell my own jewelry.

  • Cool. How about a video of your stuff for your fans?

  • haha. I can't show making my stuff...I preciously guard my process...I will, however, give a link to my website at some point in the near future.

  • No time like the present. Speaking of presents: you never know when I'll need to buy a gift. Speaking of presents, you ARE a gift. :-)

  • You have such a great way of speaking..I understood every single word you said:o), great enunciation..nice story.Thanks.

  • thanks for visiting Braz. I love your barefoot response video.

  • Thanks for that story, Kim. You are extraordinary.

  • I'm ordinary..but the experience was extraordinary.

  • You are a truly remarkable woman. It enriches me to know you.

  • I'm embarrassed that anyone finds the story remarkable. Thank you for that, but I believe that anyone could have done it...just that most don't think to...which is unfortunate. Fear is so much weaker than love/compassion.

  • Haha, I don't concede the contest. To arms! (rockets start poking out from all sides)

  • Who's people? I'm just a robot.

That is a great story. I've had similar experiences, where physical threats pushed me to a place where I rose above fear or anger, and behaved with gentleness, so that all violence stopped.
