  • I agree with Psyco but Halloween should of been first and what about Texas Chainsaw Massacre 1......

  • so halloween by rob zombie was just a remake? crap I'm disappointed

  • it seems like you are from the philippines... that way to pronounce things... nice video

  • awsome list

  • Notice how these are all old horror movies! The classics rule!

  • I've never seen Psycho, but have watched the very abbreviated scene shown above several times. Watching the long version, I'm struck at how incredibly fake it looks.

  • his face at the end was the scariest XD

  • great as always

  • ahhh the original night of the living dead ... its one of the best ...

  • you have good taste in horror movies i agree with u on everything.

  • @jasonmyers666 Thank you!

  • do you have a list of action films/movies? if not could you make one :) old or new i dont care :)

  • @MrDahve That's a great idea! I'll let you know when I finished :)

  • whats this scary film that has kids playing video games and its actually real and they start dying? idk made in 2006 or 05

  • @MrDirectorMan18 Hello there...there's one called Stay Alive (not a great film though) and one called Brain Scan with Edward Furlong...hope this helps :)

  • @mdelar Ive heard of that title!! thank you so much Mdelar! im gonna add u for being so helpful! *hugs u* ur great mAN!

  • @mdelar and ur right its not that great of a film thanks soo much again dude!

  • @MrDirectorMan18 You are very welcome! And thanks for the add! And you can call me Manny :) Have a great weekend!

  • i love the shining

  • wtf no friday the 13th

  • i think the exorcist should of been in 1st place

  • @steeeeker no shit Sherlock lol...but thanks for watching and have a great weekend!

  • I really couldn't have thought up a more cliched list if i tried.

  • Comment removed

  • @saibot117 speaks volumes how you chose the remake of the texas chainsaw massacre.

  • guys...it's his TOP MOVIES ForFkSake..if his list suckz...GET LOST!!!...it's his OPINION!

  • @SkunkInUrDreamz

That's over peoples opinions. If you don't like them, Fuck Off.

  • jesus u suck the number 1 is sooo bad -.- the shining is way better must be on 1

  • @NLglennNL asif hellraiser not there?

  • @NLglennNL you couldn't be more wrong psycho is way better than the shining could ever be.

  • have u seen the original grudge ju-on? and halloween is amazing movie.

  • yes, I enjoyed Ju-on...even the Japanese sequel was great....

  • that movie scares the crap out of me

  • Why you holding the grudge if you want the best?

  • guys if you really want to see a real scary movie like the master piece "the exorcist" you should watch " Kilometro 31" its a mexican movie,i hope the have the english subtitles wich i think they do,that movie is fucking scary!! i recommended for this halloween

  • I agree. REC was maybe the scariest

  • watch "Coming Soon"

  • the grudge is really not that scary watch paranormal activity or pinhead does r scarier than the grudge

  • your right it is a matter of taste. but some ppl like to watch classic "stalk and systematically kill" and some of the newer movies just go overboard with blood and guts. i mean i epreciate the art but it seems like they're trying to hard.

p.s. the grudge SUCKED! i hated that movie and it was boring as hell. sorry for those of you who dissagree but like he said "it's a matter of taste"

  • good choices you lefy out coujo

  • The Evil Dead FFS

  • YOu are funny guy :D good films

  • what are you on about! everyone's heard of psycho, seriously its one of the most famous horror movies ever and definitely one of hitchcocks most well known ones. not really scary but so so creepy especially right at the end.

  • yea i agree with turds4thewin (lol funny name) espically about physco like i twas good and all but i wasn't like scared of it.

    EXORCIST AND SHINING=SCARIEST MOVIES EVER.

  • amityvile horror was scary as shit

  • hardly anyone knows what psycho is they never head of it but i think it truely is the best horror movie ever the other choses r awesome to

  • 5. Night Of The Living Dead

    4. Alien

    3. The Shining

    2. Psycho

    1. The Exorcist

  • well in my own opinion i would have to say that the original night of the living dead and psycho were boring as hell no offense. I remember watching night of the living dead when i was about 7 or 8 and i pretty much fell a sleep to it. And psycho I saw that movie for the first time when i was 18 and i thought it was just very dull and boring.

Yes they are master pieces and were probably more scary back in the day. Bur it just wasn't for me.

  • u look like a fucking frog

  • That's what i was thinking..

  • Lol whats with your laugh at the end lol.

  • :) I know, when I was starting on TV, my news director decided that folks in Palm Springs liked that giggle so he told me to just stick with it :) have a great weekend!

  • PHYSCO SUCKS!!!

  • hahaha night of the living dead gives me the heebie jeebies

  • Who can forget the shower scene? lol, its got to be the most famous horror scene in history. I agree with you.

  • someones a homosexual

but i wud put nightmare on elm street on there its not scary bt freddy is gripping

  • they just don't make horror movies like they did back then. notice all those movies came from the 60s and 70s minus the shining which was 1980.

  • Good Choice!

  • Good choices here, yet missing the original 'Texas Chainsaw Massacre'.

  • nice video all good movies. all the i gotta agree with some people the exorcist wasnt to scary all though i thought the movie was all right. the shining is awesome. and the end of psycho scared the hell out of me.

  • The Thing by John Carpenter

  • Yeah, that's certainly on my Top 10 :)

    Thanks!

    Manny

  • The Exorcist and The Shining are the best horror movies in my opinion. They are both fuckin' classics, you can't just say ''It was just a piece of shit.''

  • your an idiot, gore isnt scary. if you were smart, the movies scare you. i wouldnt put the grudge on that list, besides that good

  • i have to agree gore doesnt make it scary i used to think this but now that i think about it all of gorey movies r the same...

  • you'd get your pencildick snapped by that little girl

  • I know that a lot of movies now a days are remakes, but there are some good horror movies out there that came out after the 70's. I mean, come on.

  • Well certainly there are but are really few, the best killer movie that came later was Scream I believe. Scream s a good movie from the90s

  • Every movie looked great. Exept the exorsist. Its not scary at all :( I laughed almost all the "scary" parts. And i'm not lying. I'm 13 and I saw a view scary movies. like:

    The ring 1 and 2

    The happening

The Grudge (to scary for me:P)

    28 weeks later

    Saw 1,2,3,4

  • your not kool cuz ur 13 and you watch horror movies. and those movies suck other than 28 weeks later and the first two saws.

  • Your all wrong. Halloween is the greatest horror movie of all time!

  • yeah halloween was fucking amazing

  • i like these movies~! good job! :)

  • sucked.

  • you're gay.

  • No really? lol...thanks for watching! Manny

  • wow that guy sounds so gay

  • yeah he does doesn't he? lol...thanks for watching! Manny

  • u sound like my camp counselor

i dont want to talk about it:(

  • LOL...that was pretty funny and original! It wasn't at Camp Crystal Lake headed by Jason Voorhees by any chance? Thanks for watching! Manny

  • Old classic films. Good top five.

  • Thanks! Manny

  • No Friday the 13th Part 1?!

  • While I agree with your adding Night of the Living Dead and The Shining, all of the others were flat crap (cept Exorcist, still haven't seen it).

Where the hell is The Thing?

  • night of the lving dead probally makes you wanna shove a dildo up ur buttox

  • GAY!!!!he probably has a dildo next to his horor films hahahaha

  • You know it so well don't you? lol! Thx for watching though! Manny

  • wow good top 5. the exorcist scared me out of doing ouija boards....

  • thanks! exorcist still scares the beejeesus out of me... Manny

  • I agreed with all of it. I mean all the choices i would agree are good. Like phycho which was a brillant ending very complicated movei i loved.

  • you're right, and Psycho gets better with age! Thx for watching! Manny

  • Is he Gay???????cause he talks like it!!!1

  • dude make more of these please!!

  • I will...I have to update it, maybe make it top 10...I'll keep you posted...thanks for watching :)

    Manny

  • haha u sed manny

  • fucking finally! someone agrees with me. just japanese rip-offs and shitty remakes!

  • yup...but most Japanese rip-offs as of late have not been making any money at the box-office...so I think that genre is dying! Let's bring back originality in Hollywood! Thanks for watching! Manny

  • i like the nightmare on elmstreet movies myself, but still a good list

  • Thx! I like Nightmare on Elm Street films too, not all of them, I would say, from 1 to 3...and now, Michael Bay's production company is remaking that :( Manny

  • yea, i heard. i also heard that it wont even be robert englund as freddy :(

    i dont like michael bay

  • Yes...and did you hear Bay is also remaking...ROSEMARY'S BABY?

  • i never heard of that one...

  • yup...that's a sacrilege...Rosemary's Baby is considered one of the most influential thrillers, and it was made by Roman Polanski, starring Mia Farrow...and how can Michael Bay mess up that one? check my website sometimes...I have the latest movie news and casting stuff there :) Thx again! Manny

  • Night Of The Living Dead is the reason I'm a horror fanatic. Glad to see it on your list. The Shining is also another one of my favs. Pretty solid list. Hopefully "Midnight Meat Train" will earn it's way onto my top five favs.

  • Yup! Night of the Living Dead is great! What do you think of the remakes of the film? Midnight Meat Train? Hhhmmm...the Clive Barker short story? I heard it's opening in the US on August 1 of this year! When I get an invite to see that film, I'll check it out! Manny

  • I thought the "Night" remake (1990) was okay and I avoided "Night Of The Living Dead 3-D". It definitely didn't have the intensity of the first one. Midnight Meat Train is being released August 1 and I'm counting down the days. Hopefully Trick 'r Treat will be released this year too. Both of those movies look absolutely insane!

  • Yeah but you know what? Trick 'r Treat's opening date has been pushed around twice...and it's not a good sign that its own studio, Warner Bros, does not have faith in it...but it does look like a good film, based on the trailer...but they all look good based on the trailer :) Manny

  • YOUR ARE SO GAY WITH THAT LAUGH BITCH!!

  • it's all for special effects lol :) again, thx for watching! Manny

  • the chingy guy is so gay

  • um...newsflash ixgw...thx for watching though! Manny

  • the psycho he picked up was the remake not the original. But the scenes were from the original

  • No, the Psycho I picked was the Hitchcock original, not the scene-by-scene Gus Van Sant remake. Thx for watching! Manny

  • Your laughter at the end was a perfect creepy ending

  • it's all for fx :)

  • EVENT HORIZON

  • All those are great movies

  • Really grat...I want to update this though...and maybe create a top 10 so I can include more fantastic horror flicks! Thx for watching :) Manny

  • Good selection Manny, you gotta love that, "Here's Johnny!". Keep up the good work!

  • thanks! what about you? what's on your top 5 favorite horror flick list? I'm thinking of updating this list for 2008 Halloween :) Manny

  • 1.The evil dead.

    2.The shinning [origanal].

    3.Creepshow.

    4.psycho[origanal]

    5.Sleepaway camp.

  • Interesting choices there! The Evil Dead would have made my top 10 :) Thx for watching! Manny

  • 1.The evil dead.

    2.The shinning [origanal].

    3.Creepshow.

    4.psycho[origanal]

    5.Sleepaway camp.

  • 1 shining

    2 silence of the lambs

    3 exorcist

    4 halloween

    5 the omen(old)

  • thank gosh...not the new omen :) Great picks!!!! Manny

  • Have you seen John Carpenters remake of The Thing?

  • yeah, not too keen on it, when I was a child it scared the bejeesus out of me, but not as effective as his older flicks...thx! Manny

  • 1.the thing

    2.the excorcist

    3.the evil dead 2

    4.demons

    5.friday the 13th

  • this guy is definately gay

  • also he didnt pick the evil dead which is fucking scary

  • Oh detheroc, how did you know I'm definitely gay? lol...thx for watching :) Yeah, Evil Dead is scary and it was hard not to put on top 5...but it's definitely on top 10 though...Manny

  • In my last comment what I meant to say is that people these days don't get as scared as they used to, so all these movies are great they are but if the point of this video is to choose movies for Halloween to get frightned he should showed some movies thst might scare people thede days like Ju-On, The Ring, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, The Hills Have Eyes remake or even IT. but just saying.

  • that's a very astute observation chila...I'll keep that in mind with my new contemporary horror list :) Manny

  • I actually thought the Exorcist was better than Psycho...

  • In quality, maybe, but you have to think of the context of when the films were shown...Psycho was released about 11 years before Exorcist...and its forward thinking shocked the country...just as how Exorcist did in 1973...these top 5 films pretty much made everyone think, scared, and screamed their lungs out, hence, great pop-culture moments. Manny

  • the 2 most impact horror moives i think r texas chainsaw masscre(scared to go to esert or unknown area) and jaws(scared to go near the water)

  • I´m 12 and I love horror films. My top five are:

    1- The Shining

    2- The Exorcist

    3- Psycho

    4- Alice Sweet Alice

    5- Suspiria

  • Great job Matheursmarchetti! Interesting choices with Alice Sweet Alice and Suspiria...Manny

  • i love all those movies!

  • thats a shitty list. i could think of better after 15 beers

  • that's a great idea beetlespin...I'll rethink my list after 15 bottles of beer :) HAPPY NEW YEAR! Manny

  • you dont get offended easily do you?

  • no not really...specially after 15 bottles of beer :) it's all about movies y'know? Manny

  • cool, im glad there is still some people that dont get offended from stupid shit like that. now i could understand if it was like a racial slur or some thing, but your a cool guy.

  • Night of the Living Dead is too old, everybod's seen Halloween (but still scary),The Shining is a great mive but not so much scary,Exorcist was great but is more funny than Scary and Psycho is too old too.

  • you forgot alien

  • Oh god, how gay is that guy, what a contrast XS

  • that's the intent...it's all about the contrast :) Manny

  • so gay

  • um yes...breaking news :) Manny

  • Here's sort of a rule I have. The antagonists in horror movies have to be able to die. They must have some weakness(es) which make it possible for them to be killed.Vampires(stake in heart, sunlight),werewolves(silver, silver bullet)zombies(shot or blow to head). When they keep coming back no matter what(sequels?)like Freddy,M.Myers,Jason, then I flag the movie as stupid.

  • Nightmare on Elm Street wasn't scarey to me but silly. An Edward Scissorhands who went over to the dark side wearing a Bert and Ernie shirt. The Exorcist was scarey when I first saw it as a teenager but years later I watched it and just laughed. I think they got the Chucky doll(Child's Play) idea from Linda Blair's face when her head spun around.

  • Chucky and Regan (The Exorcist)...that's funny :)

  • For now I'd go with:

    5. Silence of the Lambs

    4. Psycho

    3. Dawn of the Dead

    2. Halloween

    1. Night of the Living Dead

  • Great choices...I would have put The Evil Dead on top 10 too...I'll do a top 10 version to put all the posted favorites here...and I'll put them on my website...

  • For now I'd go with:

    5. Silence of the Lambs

    4. Psycho

    3. Dawn of the Dead

    2. Halloween

    1. Night of the Living Dead

  • 1.The Shining

    2.The Silence of the Lambs

    3.Psycho

    4.The Sixth Sense

    5.????

  • I enjoyed the Silence of the Lambs as well...it's certainly on top 10...and the beauty of that movie is it holds up...15 years later...

  • Can't argue with your picks but what about (The original) The Omen, Jaws, Nightmare on Elm Street, Alien, and Texas Chainsaw.

  • great choices! If I had enough TV time to do a top 20, those flicks will definitely be there...thanks!

  • my top flicks are saw 4, bride of chuckey, saw 3 2 and 1

  • I definitely agree with these. You know your stuff!

  • Manny! I went to your website, it rocks! Thanks for all those useful info! THANKS FOR POSTING INFO ON HELLRAISER REMAKE! KEEP IT UP!!!!!

  • k... first of all the amityville horrow was the worst 'horror' movie of all time, second, 'dat dudes bitch' was shelley duvall and she's classic. People like you should be fed to starving children in Africa instead being allowed on computers. By the way, he wasn't talking gay, he was vietnamese. and generally if someone is gay they do talk the 'hole' time in the same manner.

  • He's Filipino :)

  • argg are you serious?? I had to scroll back over seven months worth of comments to even find what I said!

What do you do with your time?!?!

... thank you for the correction.

  • Okay, "dat" and "da" are really "that" and "the". The "bitch" was Shelly Duvall, and she's a great actress. Great directors like Kubrick choose women who look like actual mothers and have talent rather than the air-headed fake boobed bimbos you're used to with today's BS horror films. Plus, Jack Nicolson isn't much of a looker himself, so a gorgeous wife would have looked ridiculous.

I have no problem with your movie choices, just your attitude.

  • IS SILENCE OF THE LAMBS HORROR?

  • CHUCKY RULES!

  • The Shining was the worst movie I ever saw in my life, not the worst horror movie, worst movie ever! So boring, a waste of my 2 hours and 30 minutes.

  • A list thats pretty close to my own! You have impeccable taste:)

  • my top five is

    1. saw

    2. Halloween

    3. Nightmare On Elm Street

    4. Alien

    5. Friday the 13th

  • My favourites are:

    1. The Shining

    2. Poltergeist

    3. Nightmare On Elm Street

    4. Friday the 13th

    5. Psycho

  • This is my favourite horror films:

    1. The Shining

    2. Poltergeist

    3. Halloween

    4. Psycho

    5. Jaws

  • my list has changed.

    Alien

    Halloween

    Scream

Jason Goes to Hell (sike i'm kidding)

but those 3 up there are all really awesome....i have a small horror collection so i don't rly know much else.
