I love this version! They are extremely talented people! But Bjork's version is amazing and unforgeable. No matter what or who, Bjork's version is always better, ALWAYS!
I'm guessing most didn't see Jason live. The studio magic on this tracks like this and "How to Start Fire" truly show when you realize what Jason actually sounded like live. I saw him 3 times with Further and while he did improve each time it was still rough the 3rd time. His passion was his strength in this band.
Im so happy to find that this has been recorded..I saw them perform it at Furnace Fest in 2002 or 2003, It simply blew my mind and have looked for a recording of it for years, thank you for posting it
best Bjork cover I've ever heard. I usually get frustrated hearing covers of her songs, because they always just butcher it, but this is amazing. Stuck to the original music fairly well, and the vocals are powerful as fuck. Incredible.
This is a pretty good cover. I guess it taints the original because its meant to be a sacred loving, intimate song. But you can hear the drum kit proper going at it in the background lol.
Came back for another listen. Didn't make it all the way through the song this time, I guess my opinion didn't change. Still a nice job, even if some of the meaning is lost.
Holy shit, I fuckin' loved FSF with Gleason back in the day, and this is one of my favorite Bjork songs. At first I didn't think it was too great but as the song progresses it gets really fucking good. Damn this made my day.
this cover kicks ass, I'd never even thaught of listening to a cover of anything form Bjork I am glad I stumbled across this Its very articulate and i feel he did a respectable job with the vocals
@XavyeX I completely fucking agree...... He *butchered* it, or infused his own take on the desperate obsession she was trying to express.... I haven't decided yet.
I really really wish I knew what, if anything, Bjork says during the "gibberish" climax. It sounds like Jason didn't know, because he's just "fakin' it" too.
Oh wow, fakin' it. There's an interesting parallel to this song.
I just love that FSF finally released a studio recording of this. I knew during the Gleason year(s) they were playing it at shows. I wish I had seen it live back in 2003.
@movidablue That's said during the "she loves him" chorus. I'm talking about the part BEFORE that; I don't think that phrase is being used there, is it?
@pgann83 Oh, yeah! Sorry, it sounds like she's saying "He doesn't care about me" or something like that... I couldn't find any lyrics... to me a lot of her ad libs are hard to understand :D
I find that they perfectly got the point of this song. I'vve always thought it's the expression off that violent moment when you realize you're in love. Using Björk's own word: when you're Violently Happy!
@DrGonzoACJ well... i just "kinda like" her... she's not my most favorite artist.. but i listen to her songs to listen to something new... but i don't get addicted to her songs or videos...
I gotta admit, I'm REALLY impressed with this one. I wasn't expecting to find a male singer that can channel the spirit of Björk's passionate message so effectively, but this group really pulls it off. Not the best instrumentals, no, but GOD does the singer make this rock. To all those calling it "emo", I think you're VASTLY missing the point of this song and the message. Dig a little deeper.
I guess I can understand. Instrumentally they were trying to keep it as faithful as they could, but of course it would never be the same as the original. There's no hiding the power of Jason's voice though.
I recommend finding more of the original work they did, where the music and his vocals go well together. My favorite by them is "On Legendary."
this is a good cover, they have retained the atmosphere of the song's meaning, it has that same pensive plaintive feeling.
Not to mention it is REALLY hard to cover Bjork well cos she has one of the most unique inimitable voices ever and this guy really puts so much passion and emotion into his vocals, which is what Bjork does. He also doesn;t chicken out of the high notes. He sounds amazing.
Holy Bollocks! I totally love this. Whats happening to my feelings.

Yes, I too feel the interpretation takes the song far from it's intended meaning. So it loses a lot from the original.
Otherwise, nice job.
