Such a great intro during a time when kids were kids and would interact with each other having fun getting dirty playing without judging others. Those were great times before cell phones, Internet and playstations changed everything. It was great being a kid in the 70's & 80's.
to get to sesame street by transit heres how... catch a train to south philadelphia at 30th st station downtown get on the market frankford line get off at the stop... keep going up frankford av untill it says bristol pike keep going up until you see levittown pwky make a left and you;ll see it
i growed up watching sesame street ( Barrio Sesamo they translated it for the spanish tv) , i was born on 71, but our bloody Franco dictatorship will not allow this program to be passed on tv, i always did wonder what was so dangerous on that program than the bloody fascist didnt want the kids of that time to learn. Perhaps the freedom of the kids in other part of the world, or to see what we didnt have and we should have had? but when he died, the first thing it changed was all the tv chard
my god what memories, we had it in Spain tv too, i learned the numbers and ABC, better with this program than with the witch of a teacher i had in kinder... how many sandwiches i have eaten watching this just after school time...
I wanted the 90s Sesame Street. The last good decade of Sesame Street. I owned one of the first Tickle-Me Elmos. I had so much Sesame Street stuff it wasn't funny. This show was a great part of my childhood, no regrets, just love.
@kand2y504 white devil camra man told him to do that, to brain wash the cute brown skin boy that white hair is pretty, when it is nothing but straight dog thin hair, nappy thick curls is better.
@kand2y504 I HATE WHITE PEOPLE SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH, I WISH YOU DIE AND GO TO HELL NOW, YOU ARE CORRUPTION TO THE WORLD. I HATE FREAKY WHITE PEOPLE TRYING TO BRAIN WASH ARE BEAUTIFUL BLACK/BROWN KIDS IN TO THINKING PALE FACE CASPER THE GHOST WHITE KIDS ARE BEAUTIFUL, FREAKY DEMONIC WHITE CAMRA (ADULT)MAN TOLD THE BLACK CHILD TO TOUCH THE UGLY PALE FACE WHITE GIRLS THIN ANIMAL LIKE DOG STRINGGY HAIR, IF I WERE HIS PARENTS I TELL HIM TO STAY AWAY FROM UGLY WHITES PERIOD, ADULTS ESPECIALLY.
I saw the very first show on TV my son was 3. We couldn't wait until it came on at 9:00. My son did not move from the TV until it was over. What a show and we continue to donate to help support every year. It must always be. My grandsons watched it and I hope their children. The kids were different like mine they got dirty they ran they played they loved the animals. Now kids stay inside on the computers and no fun with animals. Times are changing
I think the PEOPLE have truly spoken here. I have viewed several different segments of old t.v. shows on here from The "A" Team to Gillagans Island, The MUMSTERS, Today's Special, Pinwheel and of course our most beloved SESAME STREET, PLUS others that we ALL LOVED as kids and STILL DO! And from what I know most kids love these show as well, my son does at least. So why doesn't the big media corps/company put them back on. I mean if its about ratings take a look at how many got on here.
yep we had 2 channels this and I think shows like captin kangaroo, rocjket ship 7 and mr dress up were favorites, i never denied my sons imagination not =r would ideoprive any child of it to this day. To bad so many parents are so busy on computers, kids on vidio games and teens going to movies to enjoy imagination, like disnet=ys versionbs of movies and never having to grow up- now that's a childhood! Born in the eraly 60's
No matter how hard you are now , you cant deny you were one of those millions of babies jumping with joy when this show came on and if you dindt see this one you prob catched the spanish version (plaza sesamo)
@JURYJOHMZOMBIE Yes, I watched both actually, but I remember back when I was in kindergarten we would discuss the latest episode we watched that morning XD
Sesame was da bomb like i miss the good old days until one day i am watching it n some dumb gurl mamed abby trued elmo freen n messed everthing up oh ya and cookie monster on eats cookies some time and NO SUFFY,!?!?!?!!
@brasil1970 totally true. im 11 but i still hold a near and dear space in my heart for sesame street. definitly for big bird, grover, snuffy, and of course, slimey the worm. i really want to go to sesame street! :(!!!
Wow,I miss those days... I always wonder how sick fucks in this world can harm or murder children. If you murder a child I think you should be sent to lab and let them do to you what they do to mice. Or be let loose somewhere and let some of these sociopathic old rich farts hunt you down. Let them pay like $100,000 for like a weekend and tax that shit. Better yet PPV it and let part of proceeds go to charity. I don't think my ideas are extreme in the least. Killing a child you have no rights.
I'm 46 years old, and I still know all the words to this song by heart. These kids were like my friends back then. I saw them five days a week, 52 weeks a year. Thanks for the upload.
i'm a new yorker. i've been one my entire life. i can remember back as far as 1983, maybe even 82. most of all, i sincerely believed there was an actual sesame street in the boroughs, as did most of my school mates. i think this is what was behind the boom in child abductions in the greater ny metro in the 80s. everyone was wondering off into the projects in search of sesame street, never to be seen or heard from again.
This looks so fun..being able to run around outside like that..what the heck happened to children?? I would absolutely love to go play outside care-free with some friends, but they're all, well, the 'new generation'..
Ah, Sesame St. like I remember it. Funny thing, those kids in the above intro including the kids singing the theme are likely in their early to mid 40's by now. These days they are lawyers, pastors, dentists, teachers, truck drivers, police, engineers, IT pros, pilots, etc. In this economy, I'll bet some are out of work (like me) Maybe even 1 or 2 of them in prison, who knows?
Wow, this is great to see this. Kids running around and having fun and enjoying themselves. Now, that drugs taken over the street. Kids can't do that anymore.
Omg it totally has always done that to me. I grew up on Sesame Street and was a very nostalgic and connected to the show as I grew up. When I hear the theme song, I almost always get teary eyed. I think it just makes me think of being a kid and the innocence and everything being OK back then.
aww the voice of who sung this is cute! hope its not an adult lol, but sometimes I wish I was born in the 70's they were great shows like the brady bunch haha, but I grew up with the 1992-2004 end credits :)
I wonder whatever happened to these kids? They are all around my age (39). This intro brought me back to PBS when I was 5-Mr. Rogers Neighborhood, then Sesame Street, then Electric Company. I'm really proud to be part of the very first generation of kids raised by Sesame Street!
I'm 14: own video games, talk trash, listen to SOME music these days...and yet; there is something in me that lets me sit nice and quietly when i go on youtube or get my old VCR and watch this... Sesame and Oscar 4 life baby...
i can remember watching the old Sesame Street @ my grammies house, wasnt just me there..my cousins would be there also, and it was in black and white lol
@TheDellanator Yes, they had it in the '70s. If you were a kid then (I was) more than likely "Sesame Street" was a significant and unforgettable part of your childhood.
This montage reminds me of those christian Sponsor A Child foundation commercials. "For just 60 cents a day, you can provide little Carlos here food, shelter, health-care, a giant 10-foot talking canary."
I remember watching this intro as a kid, and thinking it was so cool to see those kids playing in the field (I live in the city). Hard believe all those kids here are now in their late 30's and 40's...gosh, I feel old! Anyways, Sesame Street has always been quality television for the young set.
