Went today to see the real U Boat in Liverpool. Hit by the RAF. Luckily only 3 men died, the rest of the crew was saved. Respect to the Brits and the bearded Kriegsmarine.

As for what the ships were carrying no women or children were onboard and if they were then why(not talking passenger ferries).

As for Troop ships well this is ok in Wartime. War supplies aint special, Time of night is irrelavent.

All those attack Kinda Pale in how it Compares to the Atom Bomb Dropped on Innocent Hiroshima & nagasaki or what the american did to Jap soldiers in the Pacific.

@phadil My feelings exactly. Yes, members of the German armed forces committed some of the worse atrocities in history, but most soldiers were just doing their duty to their country. To say that the German military was all bad is too black and white. For an example of a truly outstanding German military member, look up Erich Hartmann.

A little late, but what the hell... The uboats hunted the merchant ships carrying supplies to Britain From the USA, and they were hunted by the destroyers escorting the convoys, or by special destroyer hunter-killer groups that crisscrossed the Atlantic.

@9On9yue their primary purpose to my understanding was to hunt other subs and attack vessels, high priority targets and to harass Allied shipping lanes, taking as much tonnage to the abyss as they could. Crazy.

@md0206 I know who made this and as I said, I wasn't scolding Hans Zimmer as composer, but this really is 100 times weaker than original Das Boot score. Original Das Boot is one of the very few great movie compositions. And we weren't talking about The Thin Red Line. So please YOU show some respect to the original Das Boot theme, at least it has a theme. If there is string orchestra, it isn't automaticly classic. This is vomitingly impersonal and instantly forgettable. You NEVER forget Das Boot.
