Actually, being an HP-UX sys admin for DHS, HP-UX is rock solid. It has been around since 1984 and holds a major market share for enterprise servers. If they made a desktop OS, I'd be drinking the kool-aid. I've owned a MAC...gave it to my wife. I'm not saying it is crap, it's just not my style.
boring crap! Also take as note, that gnu gpl license set some restrictions, for example, you can't share your software without source code. You must give access to user, also if some software module was written and share as cddl, apache or other license. You can't share and license own project as gnu gpl, because this license no't compatible with this licenses.
Gone to many shows with HP booths, and I get a feeling they mingle in Foss, but still very iffy. They don't like jumping all feet in. They are not risk takers. They let their dollars talk. Until they put the hat in all the way.I take it with a grain of salt.
completely agree with yoiu man until oems grow a pair and go all or nothing to get ride of the symbiotic relationship with MS then Ill take anything about a oem based os with a grain of salt
I have an HP 2175 All-in-one and an HP Deskjet d1410 printer. Both worked first time plugged in to my Ubuntu box no issues. Getting that 2175 to run on XP was painful. Seems if HP was to cut the MS cord, they'd start with HP/UX or OpenVMS, which they own outright.
