How about this scenerio: You have York, Julie Christie, Vanessa Redgrave, and Maggie Smith all on the same stage-the four most accomplished British actresses of the 1960's and acting their hearts out (doing stage and film dialogue). Who'll be the one that you'll say got your money's worth?
I have seen this show at The Globe and earlier in the French Institute in London. Susannah is a warm and delightful hostess during her journey through the different roles and non Shakespeare types can enjoy the relevant real life anecdotes that interweave within the show. I have no connection with the show other than I am a great fan of Susannah and think she has been cruelly overlooked in the modern productions especially in period dramas.
