@nikelover1994 well the way I thought it worked is that they all move subconsciously in a single direction (their own direction) and the movement of the glass is determined by the addition of the forces they apply to it. They all end up at a particular letter because of their expectation that a spirit is sending them a message.
@nikelover1994 they might not be, but that's not to say they're all applying the same amount of force, so the imbalance would cause it to shift in some direction.

I am fascinated with science, but one rule I live my life by is to balance logic and faith with gratitude and look for truth in more detail than simply believing in say, what Faraday did with three pieces of card and closing the case. Sorry, that doesn't proof anything. We were 5 people, 2 of which I hadn't met before, 1 teenage girl who came up with the idea and 4 adults not beliefing in it to possibly work. When it did, we suspected each other to move the glass. So we asked questions to proof the source. At one point I was asking my dead grandpa and when the answer was spelled out I lost contact to the glass. It went on spelling with only the other 4 fingers on it. Only I knew the answer and still the answer was given.

@nikelover1994 well the way I thought it worked is that they all move subconsciously in a single direction (their own direction) and the movement of the glass is determined by the addition of the forces they apply to it. They all end up at a particular letter because of their expectation that a spirit is sending them a message.

I am fascinated with science, but one rule I live my life by is to balance logic and faith with gratitude and look for truth in more detail than simply believing in say, what Faraday did with three pieces of card and closing the case. Quantum biology is newer and more interesting, with more to question than just blaming the subconscious.

Science starts with a the development of a hypothesis, which is then tests rigorously by conducting experiments and making observations. These observations are then analysed and the hypothesis is either supported or disproved. Nothing in science is accepted as fact until every method of disproving it has been exhausted.
Science is purely the accumulative achievement of the curiosity of every human who has ever lived.

@Netruic I agree for the most part but there's quite a lot of beautiful literature, architecture and art that has been inspired by the major religions. The Sistine Chapel, Great Mosque, Barubador, Angkor Wat, etc. Also, the morals and philosophy of religions don't need to be thrown out entirely even if one knows that there are no supernatural deities. You can study and process parts of Jesus's message for example, without believing he is divine or supernatural.

Sorry, that doesn't proof anything. We were 5 people, 2 of which I hadn't met before, 1 teenage girl who came up with the idea and 4 adults not beliefing in it to possibly work. When it did, we suspected each other to move the glass. So we asked questions to proof the source. At one point I was asking my dead grandpa and when the answer was spelled out I lost contact to the glass. It went on spelling with only the other 4 fingers on it. Only I knew the answer and still the answer was given.
