  • sad the Jets have only been to 1 Super Bowl... me sad

  • wooo!

  • Jets !!!!

  • This is real football. Panzies like Brady and Manning would have been decapitated by such violent hits. Now a days, you look at a QB and you get flagged.

  • if u hit the qb like that now youll get penalities out the wazoo

  • 6:49

  • I watched this game.

Being from NY, I was rooting for the Jets.

Loving #12, I was rooting for Namath to do it.

    They did.

    George Vreeland Hill

  • Wasn't Chuck Noll the defensive coordinator for the Colts this year?

  • @Flackack Yes. Clive Rush was on the Jets staff that year also.

  • J E T S

  • I watched this game. I will never forget how the press lampooned Joe for his prediction to win the Super Bowl. Boy, Joe shut the mouths of his mockers!

  • Colts were better. Fixed maybe

  • @skywalker7327 Give me a break. Was Don Shula in on the fix? He is one of the greatest football coaches and a member of the Pro Football Hall Of Fame. Was Earl Morrall in on it? I know it was a huge game with the merger at stake. But there has never been a shred of evidence there was a fix. The late Bubba Smith said once he thought it was fixed then never discussed it publicly again. Smith had a lousy game. Was he in on it?

  • @Jefgg Hell, I never new Bibba even said that. Ok what about superbowl VS Steelers VS Seahawks, looked fixed to me. Patriots too Asterisk* , remember NE got caught SPYGATE. Maybe Bubba was afraid to speak up more. I don't trust NFL. Especially today.

  • @1976GGus1

I started watching football late in 1969. But am still a huge fan of 60's a 70's NFL. From all the footage I've watched over the years and everything I've read leading up to Superbowl III, I can see whay many would think the Colts would triunce the Jets.

I also have the original broadcast of the game. I really don't wanna take anything away form the Jets. But that's as weird a game as I've seen. Not only could the Colts have scored 30 or 40 points, but more like they SHOULD have.

  • J.E.T.S. JETS JETS JETS JETS

  • I was watching NFL Top 10's countdown for the greatest upsets of all time, and Super Bowl III was number one. There were people commenting and saying that it shouldn't have been. I say anyone who says that doesn't understand history, and they don't quite grasp the significance of the Jets' victory in this game. Not to take anything away from Super Bowl XLII, that was a big upset too, but it probably doesn't happen if Super Bowl III doesn't happen. I could go on, but I digress.

  • @UltimateLifeformRB

Well after watching this video, i definitely believe it.

  • @UltimateLifeformRB

Super Bowl III was like Douglas vs Tyson.

  • @6400az The slow count cost Tyson to lose. Some say Superbowl 3 was fixed.

  • @skywalker7327

I've heard the fixed thing in SB III. WE the fans can speculate all we want , but we'll just never know. As for Tyson,.......... no way !! He got his butt handed to him. Douglas was following the refs count and got up at 9, choosing to use up as much time to recover. He could have gotten up at 8.

  • @skywalker7327 But it wasn't...

  • @TheAmbassador11 Hey this is not the only superbowl that may of been fixed. Seahawks VS Steelers was fixed. The 3 Patriots superbowls ASTERISK*. Also the Cowboys last superbowl. See NFC championship game VS Packers. I remember Cowboy players stomping down Reggie White and refs did nothing and commentators said nothing. All about money

  • @skywalker7327 I'm not saying that a fix is impossible. I admit there were some bad calls in the Steeler-Seahawk SB. I thought there was some "funny business" in the playoff game between NE and the Raiders,so-called tuck rule. The Raiders BTW had some horrible calls go against them in their playoff history. The Steelers have had horrible calls in their favor many times. SB 10, no penalties althought their players were mugging,(literally) Cowboys recievers. I did not see Cowboys stomp R.White.

  • @TheAmbassador11 The Cowboys under Switzer were a joke. I remember in 1995 when 49ers came to Dallas and were huge under dogs and 49ers had a lot of injuries BUT still dominated Cowboys and the BS media the next day says " Sure 49ers got there shot in BUT watch Cowboys win it all come January". I mean how could you say that after a beating like that the Cowboys took.49ers lost to Packers but should not have. Also in 1995 Colts really beat Steelers. The Catch. Very fishy.I can go on, a lot too

  • @skywalker7327 The '95 Cowboys were better than the Steelers. On that Colts non-catch at Pittsburgh, Aaron Bailey admitted he didn't catch the ball.

  • @STP43FAN1 O'Donnel fucked up. Take those very careless INTs away then Steelers win.But the Cowboys were NOT better than 1995 Packers.Definitely not or 49ers.Switzer was a bad coach. Not the same when Johnson coached them.Ask Aikman he would agree.NFL is not legit.Thats a fact.

  • @skywalker7327 Aikman hated Switzer's laid-back and outright lazy approach, no question. But Switzer was a better coach than people want to give him credit for. The 1995 Packers lost to that Cowboys squad in the NFC Title Game, and the Cowboys-Niners rivalry was too close to definitively say "definately not the 49ers." As for O'Donnell, he blew it, indeed, but the Cowboys still outlasted the Steelers.

  • @STP43FAN1 I saw the game.Refs favored cowboys.NO LIE!

  • @skywalker7327 The only ref I can think of who outright favored a team was Ben Dreith.

  • @TheAmbassador11 What bad calls have the Raiders ever gotten? Do NOT say The Tuck Rule because by any objective measure it was the correct call. In the Steelers-Seahawks game the officiating was not the problem for Seattle - the Seahawks simply were not tough enough to win that game.

  • @STP43FAN1 The Steelers were the better team vs the Seahawks but Big Ben did not get in on his TD.

  • @skywalker7327 There's no asterisk for the Patriots Superbowls.

  • @STP43FAN1 Not official. But there should be.Patriots get a lot of calls in there favor

  • @skywalker7327 No they don't.

  • LMAO! soo cheesy! xP

  • jets jets jets jets

  • @AbovyantsiAper suck suck suck suck

  • @nickcobain22 fuck off you obviously only came here to bitch at other people because you don't have anything better to do.

  • lets go jets super bowl 46.

  • Jets beat Colts. Kansas City and Oakland were better than Baltimore, too.

  • god, i have both teams that played in this super bowl

  • I think this was the one the Mafia finally got their hands on...Joe Mafioso Namath

  • @MrSlik25 WHAT???? what about the Steelers / Cowboys last SB? O'Donnell threw 2 passes DIRECTLY to cowbow defenders with NOT ONE Steeler close!!!!.Vegas probably told O'Donnell " if you win , your never going to play a down again and we are gonna get you family" thats how obvious that game was. The Steelers would have(as usual) smacked the Cowboys down with ease!! they were until---ooops my eyes dont see colors anymore! Throw to the dude wearing white and blue, they have a star on the helmet.

  • @joeknee4767 Man let me explain something to you....The Mafia as we knew it...i.e. powerful enough to fix the superbowl...was long eradicated by the 1996 Superbowl...come on now...You are reaching...I suppose Rashard Mendenhall was extorted into fumbling the game away against Aaron Rodgers & Co. This past year>>>???LMAOO I think not.

  • @joeknee4767

You're wrong. Remember Brown's interception when the WR (cant remember who) fell down? thats why that pick-6 happened... the WR fell down and Brown easily picked it off. LOL @ We gonna get your family Neil O'Donnell.

  • @rygu79 The second INT was all O'Donnell's fault - people forget the Steelers ran five-receiver sets to ensure someone would get the ball - they could never trust O'Donnell to make competent decisions.

  • David slayed Goliath that day.

  • Namath's pass at 2:00. Small backlift but see how the ball flies. I had to see it again! Vick has similar skills now.

  • @makeitadoubleyeah

I've always had a thing for that throw, many others ofcourse, but tthat one has always stood out in my mind. It's a bullet-like bomb. As perfect a throw as you'll ever see.

  • 8:02 a variation of this music cue was used by Car & Track for its 1968 intros.

  • 7:33 Bongo Run

  • Some of the best offbeat underrated music in NFL Films history. None of the classic pieces, but I always enjoy the music when this one comes on TV.

  • @youngpl

Yes, I agree with the music. Especially towards the end of the game film. The thrill of the young Jets perfectly juxtaposed against the desperation on the veteran Colts team.

My favortie SB Film ( music , tracks, artistry ) SB V , hands down. Every track played in that one makes mythical figures of the players.

  • I miss that old ESPN intro for the Super Bowl highlights...my dad would let me stay up as late as I could the night before the Super Bowl and watch them. I'd usually fall asleep by Super Bowl V or VI lol

  • @cbaldwinjr I remember those days!

  • LETS GO JETS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Number 78 Bubba Smith!!!!!!!!

  • great thanks for posting!

  • My favorite Super Bowl highlight film. But the original Ice Bowl film (hard to find) is hard to beat too.
