I met him 30 years ago at music school. He was the new San Francisco wunderkind and we are all in awe. I practiced, played & wrote charts w/Brian Auger. On the last night for a big crowd he jumped up on stage to sing the bridge to Zeppelin's "The Ocean". 'Naw Naw... Na Na Na na, na na na na na na na na na nawwww". The band completely forgot about this essential, seminal middle part & somehow he & Annie stocking knew, so they jumped onstage & filled in. It was something I'll never forget.

Wow I really like they way he answers "No" to the question "Do you have a moment when you don't know where to start?" :) He inspires me so much! Just go with it! Wonderful!
Has there ever been anything more artistically daring than a singer/musician who is exceedingly able to accompany his own singing with something instrumental, but purposely decides to not do so?
There is a profound level of abstract thinking involved in that journey, and a humbled, humorous, & even meditative presence about him, to boot

I saw his concert back in March at Roy Thomson Hall. Fantastic show! If you ever get the chance, go see him live! You won't regret it.
