i dont like jakarta. Traffic, terrible urban planning, transportation is a joke, one of the most polluted cities on earth , with the air people breathe being smog!, Corrupt government officials keeping the country a 3rd world country. The graffiti allover walls, and make shift ghettos in the midst of high class malls. If you can afford to build a mall why not clean the sewers and makeshift ghettos turned into adequate hygienic housing for the less fortunate.

Nice video of the city. My wife and I used to live in Jakarta for 15 years. We've gone thru most malls in Jakarta. Great place, cheap food and electronic goods. The traffic is similar to Manila's. Really miss the place. Hope we can go back there someday.

Always remember choose the rite TAXI, The Taxi brand which contain "Blue" word (sorry i'm not promoting) is the best one currently. Have a pleasant stay there...

Thanks Pal, I left Indo for good about 40 years ago, and I visit this country on and off, and it hurt me so much, if these people will not have a chance to survive for the next two generation. I left, because I know the Order Baru will be the same with Order Lama, just different clothing. Now, I was blessed as I did not regret my decision. The poor living in hell, and the people, who live in Permata Hijau and Diponegoro live in Heaven. Yes, I will visit only BALI, the last of the nice place.

Thanks for the uploading. This place is one of the best place to visit, but not to live. The city shows the different between the poor and the super rich. It is sad. Jakarta was one the best city under Bang Ali and Ir. Rio Tambunan as the planning boss. Now, is so dysfunctional by disorganized city government, there is no return. This city will be under the water in about 60 years, without any plan to survive. Anyway, thanks for the video. One of the best show of video.

It's a city of contrasts, really. Extreme grandeur clashes with extreme ugliness. And as much as we love this city of ours, I'd say that some aspects of the city is in a dire need of change, such as the transportation. Do you realize that Jakarta is probably the only megapolis that does not have a subway system? We're already behind Manila and Bangkok, let alone KL and Singapore in this aspect, and Vietnam is rapidly catching up. In 10 years time, if we slack off, we'll lose to Vietnam. Imagine!
