  • beautiful video i fly for AA Central America is my route and that airport is not easy the best out of the best pilots fly to that airport .its good that you guys thought of it as fun because to some people its not many airplanes have crashed trying to land at Toncontin intl .the beauti of flight is the challenge because a stright flight can be boring sometimes you guys were in good hands with those pilots .

  • Can you explain what exactly is happening?

  • Not sure if it is car, or a plane

  • WOW, everything is going by so quickly! And an amazing view!

  • Nice video, thanks for the upload. Where you flying in Copa Airlines?

  • nice vid

  • As a pilot, its hard to land an airplane between mountains due to turbelence. And now doing some turns, make it more difficult. But good view.

  • Video favourited. Awesome, Best video of Honduras 'in-flight' landing experience out there. Defo worth a visit

  • @umar0903 Thanks, mate! Glad you enjoyed it. It was fun.

  • what plane is that?

  • @mortalkombatplayable looks like a 737, most likely the -800 (could be the -700)

  • This is absolutely not funny. It is dangerous to do like that. Everyone must switch off ALL electronic devices during landing.

  • @PavelKomissarov You can keep your phone on, so long as it's in "Airplane Mode." Think about it.

  • @lauriejennifer

let me tell you something. yes, we can keep the phones on "airplane mode" during level flight, but we must switch them (as well as all other electronics) off completely during taxi, take off, descent and landing.

  • @PavelKomissarov I travel a lot and have never had this. Phones must be in airplane mode, but do not need to be off.

  • @lauriejennifer thats ridiculous when they tell us to switch them off. there's no danger unless u give them any extra radio traffic. case closed.

  • @lauriejennifer

I travel a lot too, and yes, they should be switched off during landing. Rightly or wrongly, it is regulation in most places and most airlines.

  • @PavelKomissarov

Google "qantas electronic equipment switch off", click the link, read "All types of mobile phones must be switched off during take-off and landing.

Mobile phones and portable digital assistants switched to flight mode may be used inflight after the aircraft seat belt sign is extinguished following take-off up until we prepare the cabin for landing."

So there you have it. At least one international airline stipulates it and it was the first one I checked.

  • @lauriejennifer for in flight use yes. But during takeoff and landing turn EVERYTHING off.

  • @lauriejennifer no electronic in taxi, takeoff or landing allowed your allowed when flying after takeoff

  • @yousefnoori It transmits not radio signal therefore doesnt interfere with the aircraft in any way. Even if it did, it is highly unlikely to do anything.

  • @HDairsoftTV it interferes with the VOR which in IFR, reduced visibility and long distance flights is a necessary instrument. So yes it does quite alot i have been in the cockpit when one of my passengers tried to use a phone and the VOR went absolutely crazy,it was good luck for him we weren't under IFR

  • @lauriejennifer for sure you can, the dark ages are over!

  • @PavelKomissarov yeah and you have to look left, right and left again before you cross the street! Should I warm up your milk?

  • @captainzeh

don't confuse your personal safety when crossing the street with the safety of other people who sit next to you onboard. if only you fly alone by your own private jet so you can do everything you want at your own risk, but if you fly by regular flight you cannot imperil a hundred of other lives.

  • @PavelKomissarov You're an idiot.

  • @RoniisH, you're another!

  • @PavelKomissarov What have I said or done that has been idiotic?

  • @PavelKomissarov and then put on their party hats and blow their whistles.

  • after see this I prefer by car

  • I remember my first flight was to Honduras for a mission trip and it was a tad scary.

  • my dad flys their all the time when he working but i verly get to see him :(

  • One of the BEST Landing vids I have ever seen!

  • is that tegucigalpa?

  • @helmomissen yes

  • what airport?

  • you guys are annoyingly gay

  • awesome !!!! It's give me the idea to test all the dangerous airports.

I very like these approach like that !! :)

  • What a intense aproach. Great video, thanks!

  • @AeroflySimDE No worries, glad you enjoyed it. :)

  • I believe that video was taken at a time when you are supposed to have electronic devices turned off, to keep from interfering with the airplanes' electronics!

  • @mitchellbvardeman If it's a camera; there's no problem, as there's nothing receiving nor transmitting, as it's a recording device. If it's a phone, it should be in "flight" mode, or have the transmitter/receiver turned off. They're both electronic devices: Time to learn how to distinguish them... or do you work for the TSA? In which case this could turn out to be a looooong conversation.

  • @navelpicker Brilliantly said.

  • @lauriejennifer Thank you LJ. By the way; forgot to mention that it's a really nice vid.

  • @mitchellbvardeman Navelpicker hit it on the nose. You know how you're allowed to keep your phone on, provided it's in "airplane mode?" Same thing here. This is not a transmitting device. It does not pick up or send signals. It is fine.

  • A lot of Thrust Reverser used as well as brakes!

  • this is not the correct way to land, I'm a police officer so I know

  • @DaMagicConchShell LOL I see what you did there.

  • @DaMagicConchShell I just want to say great to you being a police officer and I give you credit for that. However I do not think that makes you an expert on landings. I have been flying commercial airlines for 24 years and this is the best I have seen since. Now it is a little hard to judge by the window view, but this is the most dangerous runway that is usually over flown by about 80 to 100 feet. Looking at where he landed, he was right on with his landing.

  • @BarakAshit I don't want to live on this planet anymore...

  • @DaMagicConchShell Don't worry. I got it. It made me LOL

  • @DaMagicConchShell lol you know it because you are a police officer? i am a pilot and i tell you it was a perfect landing...

  • @mariodela It's a joke.

  • @DaMagicConchShell That's a confusing statement. " i'm a police officers so I know". What's that got to do with being a trained pilot? Cops getting pilot training too now? Stupid statement to make

  • @60toodles look pal, I don't know who you are, or where you came from, but you better watch it because I will arrest you

  • @DaMagicConchShell You are one of my favorite people right now.

  • @60toodles lol well if the handcuffs are furry I might let you. Not sure if i'll let you fly the plane though.

  • @DaMagicConchShell I concur, Sir. I'm a baker so I know.

  • @DaMagicConchShell surely you're being facetious

  • @DaMagicConchShell i am a first officer at American Airlines also know as copilot my route is Central America so this is a correct way to land its called a left downwind it to the runway due to the terrain at Tocontin so our job is to land the aircraft safe and sound with out harming anyone around us. police officers dont know crap about flying aircrafts so stick to harrsing people low life

  • @DaMagicConchShell your a police officer? therefore you know the approach pattern to an airport in honduras?

  • Wow good vid

  • @TheAbstractedmind Thanks, mate. Sometimes the simple, no frills one really do the best job of capturing life.

  • Kwai take

  • I tried flying this on Flight Simulator X, and its pretty intense :P I got my dad to try it as well (he's a pilot with Air Canada) and he says its one of the hardest approaches he's ever done, and he's flown the checkerboard approach at Kai Tak airport (watch a video if you don't know what that is).

  • @steven7795 I've heard others say that. I have several friends who are pilots. I am no pilot. All I know is that landing here is an absolute blast as a passenger! I get airsick, and I still had a riot.

  • Continental/united airlines ?:)

  • this video surely shows the beauty of flight, thanks for sharing!

  • bit fast!

  • hahaha thats freakin awesome

  • @appleglory It was a blast! One of the most fun landings I'd ever experienced.

  • @lauriejennifer

I've landed here also in 1994 for my brother's wedding. All I remember is how close we were to the mountains as we landed. Thanks for the upload!

  • i want to go there now just for the landing :P

  • @steven7795 It's amazing. After the landing, it only gets better. Very awesome mountain roads, great food, wonderful people.

  • Wow, Beautiful Landing but he was overspeeding and i seen the crosswinds taking him sidewoulds...

  • @555SexyAndIKnowIt555 Sure. That's why they came just about this - close to crashing and burning...

  • Videos of these planes would be awesome a hundred years later.

  • @ST4LLOUT Very good point. I wonder what will be left in 100 years of all the massive amounts of information and recorded memories we have collected here in such a short amount of time. We wouldn't be the first "great" civilization to be wiped out and all but forgotten, if it were to all be lost.

  • Wow! Great Job to the Pilots! :D

  • This is the best airport and most fun to land at!

  • So many pilot and aviation fans posting technical comments and questions that I have no idea how to answer. I'm a motovlogger, and not even really a fan of flying. It's so random that this is one of my most popular videos, because it has really nothing to do with the rest of my channel. It's been cool seeing the debates that spark, though.

  • you guys must have landed in Tancontin airport in Honduras? I about shit myself when we landed

  • 737NG !!! is it -800 version ??

  • @emasxxl Yes its the 737-800 Version... u can always tell

  • @emasxxl Either Copa's or United (ex-Continental) -700's.

  • MHTG haha

  • Hey piece of cake!!

  • holy sh*t

  • I'm in weird side of youtube again. >:(

  • @xCh3Sty Haha! You apparently haven't seen "that side" of YouTube. This isn't so bad. Actually, I just recently posted a video about "that part of youtube." A person can easily get lost in a rabbit hole of "suggested videos..."

  • That pilot should have a reward!

  • overspeed landing?

  • @KautsarRz Nope.

  • ROUGH

  • jeeeesus christ that was a beautiful approach and landing nice one!!

  • What ever happened to "all electronic devices should be turned off during take off and landing"??

  • FASt

  • continental airlines?

  • @MSSpenceProductions

Probably Copa Airlines, as they use the same livery scheme as Continental.

  • @CWINDOWSsystem32 Well, that is invalid since Continental is now United & Vice Versa. You have a point, though.

  • What airline is this?

  • Comment removed

  • Is this a 737-700 or an E175?

  • @imanseven 757

  • @holyshizzleitsconnor oh yea your right

  • @imanseven 737

  • Honduras Tegucigalpa airports runway is only 2163m long. You have to hit the aircraft a bit harder on the ground in order to land safe there, so it`s not a "bad landing"!!

  • that was gnarly awesome!

  • holy shit he was comin in HOTTT

  • @timwitt94 so its not just me? thought he was going a little too fast XD

  • Wow!! What a LANDING!!!!!!!! FAST & HARD!

  • i love how whenever the pilot makes a bad landing, everybody claps. not just this video... i know it wasnt easy to land at this airport, but most bad landing videos, everyone claps.

  • @goofynewfie12 If he wanted to make a good soft landing, the plane would have ran off the other side of the runway, he needed the firm plant to land with enough space. Any landing you can walk away from is a good landing, any landing you can walk away from and still fly the plane again is a great landing :)

  • Thanks American butch dyke! You are the man!

  • @tctetley u mad bro?

  • This landing was rough, but I am looking at the Approach Chart into Honduras, and props to the pilot!

  • there is always some wierd person clapping every time i land

  • OMG. That was so pathetic of them to scream and panic on a Normal landing, TAKE THE BUS!!!!!

  • @BlainePeacock Notice myself and my seatmate were calm and chuckling and enjoying it. The young woman who you hear squealing in fear had never flown before, ever. This was quite the introduction to flying, I'd say. And I've flown a lot. Her reaction is justified. She wasn't really freaking out that much; she was just quite vocal.

  • @BlainePeacock This airport is considered one of the most dangerous in world, captains and passengers have HUGE BALLS to land there.

  • @FiorellaMaya I have to disagree, have you ever heard of Saba Airport before, thats the most dangerous airport in the world Lukla Airport is voted second in the world, you need to do more research man..just sayin...

  • @BlainePeacock Saba is a dangerous airport as I have landed it many times, but this is the most dangerous airport to land at. Lukla is second and Saba is third. But it does not matter which is in first, second or third. I have landed many planes at this airport and it is by far the most exciting and dangerous I have ever landed.

  • wat the hell are they childish to scream..its normal to be going on flight wat..

  • I bet the flight crew talk shit about the passengers after every flight

  • @MEATYOKERRable ofcourse?? whats your point??

  • @Airplan3z101

If you watch the video then you'll find it. *it* meaning my point. My *point* meaning the purpose of my post.

  • i bet its a continental airline am i right?

  • @silverlight502 Look at the wing tip and u can figure it out, :-)

  • i HAVE TO GO HERE someday....if not for anything else, but to witness this first hand!!!

  • o wow lol thats cray

  • i dont now wy jou are clapping the plane just to land

  • @d3IAnO because it was a good landing and all pilots should be clapped for because of the tremendous amount of stress they hold during the whole flight to ensure your safety! So why not thank them?

  • @Airplan3z101 So should we booo when they crash?

  • @Airplan3z101 there is not a tremendous ammount of stress involved, and if there is something is wrong

  • copa ?

  • way too fast

  • @MyPilot747 Nope.

  • Really crazy! Once in my life I want to land on Toncontin.

  • @MyPilot747 Actually, you are suspost to put down the spoilers when you are going 20KNTS or less after landing... they put up the flaps up when they get clear of the runway. That was perfect landing.

  • spoilers went down to early

  • @MyPilot747 Not sure about early models but on late 737s, the spoilers are automatically retracted once Thrust is applied. My guess is that the pilot either manually retract the spoilers or there may be another traffic on approach and the pilot is just trying to clear the runway ASAP by applying Thrust to keep his taxi speed up.

  • @Jacka1 You can arm the spoilers so when the aircraft touches down they automatically deploy

  • @MrFly757 That's what I just said. The spoilers have to be armed in order for it to auto deploy once wheel speed is detected and struts compressed. Thereafter once thrust is applied for either taxi or TOGA, the spoilers are automatically retracted.

  • @MyPilot747 Nope.

  • what for a plaine is this?

  • pussy

  • you: "hey, there is a mountain next to us, haha. funny."

other passengers: "oh my god!! *crying* oh my god!!"

hahahaha. pilot did a good job

  • Well theres gonna be a 30 min from Tegucigalpa airport wich right now is Sotocanos Airforce practice base but shortly it would become an international airport free of any danger and theres San Pedro Sulas airport aswell so ure WELCOME to come anytime you want !

  • No Shit! Dangerous High Speed Landing! 100 mph too fast. . . Kool video. . .

  • amazing the pilot!!!!

  • You're not supposed to record on planes!!! D:

    *Calls Police*

  • that was awesome !!!!!

  • Aeroplanes really are amazing!

  • pretty obvious the camera is interfering with the control systems of the airplane...

thats why they say shut off electronics during take off and landing...

  • @PlebScrubber Are you being Sarcastic?

  • There's the airport! NO WAIT!

  • daaaammmnnn that mustve been the hardest landing ever!!!

  • Tegu not only has a dangerous airport but it qualifies as the most boring city in Honduras.

  • Place your head between your legs and kiss your ass goodbye......

  • great landing yeah! really nice though it would be better without all those ignorant american talking and just hearing the engine sounds

  • This is really an Awesome landing.

  • Toncontin is not "one of the world's most dangerous airports." No working commercial airport is "dangerous". A "dangerous" activity is one that carries an unreasonably high risk of accident. So if the airport was "dangerous", it should be closed immediately. The approach to Toncontin may be difficult, but that is not the same as "dangerous". Every day planes land at Toncontin and yet there have been only two accidents on landing in the past 20 years, both of which were due to pilot error.

  • I'm from Honduras, "Tegus" to be precise, I used Tegucigalpa 's airport many times, but to be honest, I quit using it about 10 years ago now (2011) My last landing there was quite scary, the airport literaly, like the whole city is in the bottom of a bowl. I pay tribute to ALL the pilots who everyday land there,as for me I prefer to land among the flat lands of San Pedro Sula, just 4 hours away traveling in a nice Mercedez Benz bus..free of worry, work for me.

  • great vid mate

  • nice approach :P nice video ;)

  • 1:48 hahhaahhahahahahhahahahahahahahhahah SOOOO FUNNYYY

  • You sound exactly like Mark Zuckerberg in The Social Network

  • that's why us pilots are among the most members of society!

we bring you 35000Ft in the atmosphere traveling at 840km/h and then land at one of the most dangerous airports in the world....walking away in one piece. And we make it look like clock work......we make it look easy...believe me..it isn't

  • @chadsani They say pilots are a different breed. Probably true. Thankssss

  • you're not allowed to switch on electronic devices during take off and landing dumbass!

  • @mandrasachek She's the dumbass? How about you realize that half of the people on flights leave their cellphones on, and that there are probably 50,000 videos of airplane landings on YouTube, and consider how safe filming during TO/Landing is?

    (Hint: There's no danger!)
