I remember this game so well. The Colts started out 4-4 that year and then ended up 12-4 and Manning won MVP. I also remember a game against the Vikings when they were down 15-0 on the 4th and came back to win 18-15. If the Colts had had any QB other than Manning, they would've started out 2-6 or worse instead of 4-4. He was amazing that whole year. and as a Pats fan, the '08 season in general just makes me shake my head and sigh. gotta give credit where its due though.

If the Colts are down by 3 and you give Peyton about 2 minutes. He can run a 2 minute drill better then anyone ing the NFL. If he is back at their own 10 yard line, he can find holes in the defense and you will LOSE!
@JohnEko No our defense is always injured... a healthy Colts defense is capable of doing well, look at our SB year, barely any injuries and we won. I wouldn't say underrated, it's just always injured

@JohnEko It's one of the shittiest defenses and always has been. Manning just usually provided a great blanket for them. Their first Super Bowl run they faced only 1 competent defense and they allowed 34 points.
@Bonapartisan Colts defense has also sucked eggs at tackling. They couldn't perform a routine tackle to save their lives. Only competent player they have on their team this year is Angerer.
@Wavecurve Joseph Addai is a great running back. You could put any running back next to manning and it would be hard to get good stats. Look at how Adrian Peterson shaped up when brett farve was brought into the vikings. He still looked good but the stats fell through the success of the passing game.
Also on the same note, the colts also have a strong defense. You dont go 15-0 in a season with a weak defense. Manning is an incredible player but sometimes I think people are TOO focused on him.
@JohnEko By watching the Colts play without Manning, it truly shows how great of an impact he had on the Colts. He covered their big weaknesses in defense by keeping the Colts offense on the field. Their offensive line shows a lot more weakness without him because he could pick up blitzes extremely well and made all receivers look good (including rookies and add-ons) by reading coverages. Manning is the heartline.

If the Colts are down by 3 and you give Peyton about 2 minutes. He can run a 2 minute drill better then anyone ing the NFL. If he is back at their own 10 yard line, he can find holes in the defense and you will LOSE!

@Wavecurve Joseph Addai is a great running back. You could put any running back next to manning and it would be hard to get good stats. Look at how Adrian Peterson shaped up when brett farve was brought into the vikings. He still looked good but the stats fell through the success of the passing game.
Also on the same note, the colts also have a strong defense. You dont go 15-0 in a season with a weak defense. Manning is an incredible player but sometimes I think people are TOO focused on him.

@JohnEko By watching the Colts play without Manning, it truly shows how great of an impact he had on the Colts. He covered their big weaknesses in defense by keeping the Colts offense on the field. Their offensive line shows a lot more weakness without him because he could pick up blitzes extremely well and made all receivers look good (including rookies and add-ons) by reading coverages. Manning is the heartline.

@zeek1227 No the problem with the Colts is that Peyton Manning is one of the worst quarterbacks ever when it comes to post season play. He gets the MVP every year and throws way over 4,000 yards, and throws over 30 TDs...but he chokes hard every time it counts the most except in 06.

I think the running game is no real threat, the O-line got a couple people this past offseason but it's still gotta improve, Painter possibly needs to be a better leader, and the defense needs a better captain. The receivers are also injury prone and some are aging. This 010 team needs improvements everywhere is my opinion. Not just their defense.
