@scubbadubba123, balls of steel? What choice did he have, where could he have gone? Lol If I knew the building I was on would withstand the force of the tsunami then I'd stay up there too
I look at this video with awe and fright as well as scientifically (*and armature scientific) ok here is my break down first this guys looks like he is maybe 30 to maybe 40 ft. above the parking lot. It took 58 sec.For the carport below to be inundated. In two minutes time a building that is at least 25 ft all got swept away. the third story of the building across start getting water intrusion with in 5 min.
The tremendous force and the minimal time is horrific. Guys has some steel balls!!
you might say im crazy but i want to experience a big earthquake and tsunami. i wish i was in kona when it happened. that would have been very interesting (to me)
tsunami's are so deceptive. At first you think its not going to make it very far inland but then the water level keeps rising and before you know it your sprinting for your life.
That´s what you never see in catastrophic movies. There is (usually) one big explosion, big wave etc., but in reality it just keeps coming and coming and coming...
hmmm...Seems like the seismic activities raised the see floor level...causing the water level to rise and thus flooding water onto anything that's below the "new sea level."
Water damage aside, that water looks very toxic...
I keep thinking its going to calm down, it looks bad a the beginning but just gets worse and worse the power is just amazing. Im in awe of the power of nature but at the same time feel for the Japanese. The past is past despite what horrors where committed

This is a tragic event. Tragic enough without the nuclear issues. But the nuclear issues are the result of years of pencil whipping "regulators" in Japan who were supposed to be inspecting these plants. And I can't understand why their fail safe systems were as poorly designed as they were. It's not like Japan is technologically deficient or something. And now the world has a more negative view of nuclear energy. We NEED to embrace nuclear power. It is safe when handled properly. RIP
Who had the bright idea of building below sea level of an ocean? on a fault line? in the ring of fire? And why are there neighborhoods by nuclear plants, when the unexpected can wipe out a vast area? According to dude, the radiation is about to wipe out japan if 10,000 is instant death, and the plant is emitting 10,000,000,000. That much radiation is certain to reach us over here. This is major.
@choclatdrop16 Have you forgotten that the United States also has Nuclear Power Plants and anything can happened to any one of them, also look up 3 Mile Island Nuclear Power Plant Disaster, which was the First and hopefully the last Nuclear Disaster in the United States.
@EvilFingers, I'm aware of that which is why I am as prepared as much as I can. I just dont' understand why one would build a nuclear plant under sea level, on a fault line in the ring of fire. You can almost guarantee MAJOR earthquakes in that environment, yet theres a nuclear plant there. That's like me parking under a leaning tree every night while living 10 ft from some railroad tracks, then I'm horrified when the tree falls on my car.
@iPwnYouNoobsx i don't think at any point in the clip did i feel it was hilarious, i just thought the power of nature and the sea in particular was awesome.
Did any1 see the one of it spreading over the countryside with loads of debris and cars in it? It looked black, and it was catching up with the cars on the motorway. Imagine seeing THAT on your way home from work :L
I thought to myself......Hey, I would climb on top of the car shed, then that dissapeared.................so I thought oops, better climb the pole and that dissapeared...............then the the whole fecking town dissapeared. Absolutely astounding video.

Trying to look at the depth. I used :38 vs. 4:38 with the multi-story building for reference. Looking at the garage building that is about 10 feet tall (8' garage doors standard ht. then open web truss construction. Assuming the building behind is at the same Fin.Flr level, than the first floor of the adjacent building (behind the garage in the video) has water upto the second floor window, but the final water level ~ 15 feet.
