This is a brilliant report, but I greatly regret your leading with the statement "...because danger IS lurking everywhere, ESPECIALLY online." I have been working hard for over a decade to bring perspective to the Net-safety discussion, replace myths & hype w/ the research, and end the technopanic which is only ADDING to tech educators' struggle to bring 21st-c tools to the classroom!!! YUS, showing off the power of 2.0! As much as I think the new interface is trash it's good to see the embedded web content being put to good use.

As for the issue of Teen Grid, yes, it NEEDS to merge with SL and I hope to god the whole Adult region was a first step in merging them. But LL seems to want to iron out other issues first. Those issues had better be vital to getting the merge done.

There were talks about mixing teengrid and MG for more than 2 years now. Linden Lab isn't interested in teens, thats what I experiences.

Kingdon mentioned at sxsw they were moving towards a TG merge. So, despite previous statements to the contrary, it appears it will happen. LL needs to figure out how to fully enforce policies first.
