Sparky is a cutie! My lory's name is Nikki. She is a green nape lory and she is 2yrs. old. Lorys are wonderful pets and sooooo beautiful! Love your video!

I always see Rainbow lorikeets At my grandads house in the huge tree he has in his backyard. I like watching them.

I also noticed that his right wing is trimmed down a little . correct me if i am wrong but , that is to make sure that it cant fly away because it will loose balance with one wing trimmed down.

Yeah we clip their wings as neither of them have ever flown before and i have known pple who have lost their birds this way. They cant fly with only 1 wing. Pple assume that if their bird has never flown then it wont but if something startles them they just take off. It is instinct.

lol mine is so rebellious that it flew out of the front door.Just at that time my mum came back and we found him hanging onto a brick at the 4th floor of another block O.O frm then on we clipped his wings and always close the wooden door.

Eclipse where did you Buy your lorikeets? And if you buy them how do you know that the one you buy wont fly away? because i have seen birds in the pet shop that don't even fly even though they are sitting outside their cage on a small platform.

We had sparky given to us about 6 yrs ago and the other one we brought off a lady who had raised him as a pet also. As i said above you cant assume they will never fly away b/c if their wings arent clipped then it really is only a matter of time. Alot of pple who dont clip the wings will keep them inside the house. Ive often thought the same thing myself regarding pet shop birds. They dont seem to be clipped either but yet just stand there. Doesnt mean they dont or cant fly though xo

One time i cought two wild lorikeets but i felt sorry for them and let them go

Yeah i would have too. Its different if they are wild and are used to flying and being free. Our birds have never flown and would not survive if released to the wild now. They are totally dependant on us for their food and care.

Sparky is just like the lorikeet i used to have (until she escaped.) Your vids of Sparky have reduced me to tears, remembering how wonderful my little Birdy-Bird was!! Thanks for posting these.

yeah lol they certainly have great personalities dont they. I know what you mean about the eyes, ours does the same everytime he gets excited over anything.
