Incubus reached thier peak around Morning View. I wish Brandon would start using his normal deep voice again, like he did in S.C.I.E.N.C.E, Make Yourself and Morning View. I still love Incubus though, I support them no matter what.

I guess i am one of the few who think Ben is a better bassist than dirk. In my opinion i think Incubus sounds much better with Ben Kenney.

@anthem8 I believe that Ben is a better bassist in general, because of his skill and writing ability. However the style played by Dirk I prefer. I really like the old Incubus, but I'm not really sure how Dirk would compare were he still a member of the band today, seeing as Mike wrote most of his parts, but either way I believe the band made the best decision by canning Dirk.

Either way, Incubus is still an amazing band and continues to evolve in a positive and unique manner.

Maybe not a better bassist coz Alex was pretty crazy in there early songs. They jus have different styles with Incubus starting off with a lot of funk music, which was Alex's specialty and are now more alternative which is better suited with Ben's style.

@anthem8 Eh its hard to say. As far as slap bass and cool riffs Ben cannot touch Alex. But on overall musicianship Ben can play as well as sing. So it all depends on the Incubus you like weather its older heavier, or newer more melodic style. Good either way!!

I have yet to hear them in person being from edmonton, Canada and being busy last byear when they were here, but on the alive at red rocks DVD, I prefer to use the drive alteration as an example of an improvement, I enjoy the classic version, but Kenney's bass is amazing on the DVD and personally much better in my mind

After hearing Dirk in Evanessence, I am very happy with the switch, Ben brings so much more to the table, and as much as I like pre- Crow Incubus, I now find the bass-lines less enticing as I do now with Kenney there
