DEAR ANYONE WHO CANNOT FIND A SOLUTION I MAY HAVE ONE!!!

I looked for over 3 hours how to get this problem fixed, and I eventually found it.

1)Turn off your TV

2)Turn on your PS3 (leave the TV off)

3)Wait about a minute, maybe two

4)Turn on your TV and Tadaa! you have sound!

This works because sometimes the HDMI cable may not sinc correctly. :)

When I play uncharted sometimes parts of the speech audio of the cutscenes produce no audio (the background sound does just not the speech). I don't know if its the game or the optical cable. Its only happened with this game so far. It works fine with inFamous.

@DominoChild Your not alone on that, when I play any game on my PS3 The audio shows up but in beween the cutscene the speech is also gone, but on my God of war 3 game the audio and video laggs, I tried it on my friends ps3 and everything works just fine.

my prob was with LA Noire,

perhaps could be because when i first used ps3 I had it connected to amp playing 5.1 surround sound. now it is connected directly to TV, so those old automatic settings are no longer compatible

I think what you are looking at is a bandwidth problem. It's like a traffic jam in your cable.

When you deselect those items you are removing some components of the audio and the cable has to carry less.

The problem could be with the PS3's HDMI output version.

It's because it's not your ps3, it's the HDMI cable, I had this with my xbox, it wouldnt play audio at all on dvd's, but when I put it in SD it did, its the cable dude. try buying a new one or giving it a blow (giggity). and the ps3 HDMI slot itself.

@ImForCoffee In some cases it is the HDMI cable to blame but most of the time its the console itself, i wouldnt go out buying loads of HDMI cables hoping to get it working again. I have 3 HDMI cables and they all had the same problem i show in the video until i changed the actual ps3 settings.

@FedorCroCop44 The exact same thing happened to me on bc2! I could not work out what was the problem, if I followed this video it still happened, I tried all my cables and it still didn't work. I assumed it was the game that was faulty and sent it back to Amazon but now you've said that I don't know if Im right. I have a feeling its something to do with the PS3 struggling to run the frostbite engine because my Xbox 360 version works fine with the same TV and Cables, I'd get a refund on your game

hmm, if your are using monitor (tv) speakers, then it all makes sense. Everyone that has surround systems will tell you that you are missing center channel sound. What happens when yu uncheck all those audio settings, is that you eliminate surround sound options which your tv obviously cant reproduce (because it has only stereo speakers), so you arnt losing center, and all surround channels.

If you knew that, then my bad :P

From the looks of it, its a mistake on Sony's XBM coding, where when it comes to outputting selected audio to the right channels, it sends it to non existent speakers.

Sony really need to pull their finger out on this.

When I was playing fifa, you couldnt hear the sounds of the ball being kicked or the commentary, i changed the settings like you did and boom, the sounds all working now in HD.

I connected my PS3 like this. TV>HDMi>AMP>PS3

Video was perfect but every 2 minutes the Audio cut out, the only way to get it back was to turn the AMP off and then on.

ive got a problem where i have audio drop out also, but ive not had any problems so far with in games, its with the xmb menu, where you scroll through and usually you hear that clciking sound, with my hdmi for some reason you cant hear the clicking. ive had a look on the audio frequencies and its only on the 2 settings you cant delete.
