  • fucking hate the blues. its stagnated in its own limitations.

  • @kqpm392 Please enlighten us with your genre of music that is not bound by the "limitations" of the blues.

  • I find it amazing that I've gone through forty plus Les Paul-style guitars and pickup changes to get a tone that is actually clearly available from a Telecaster. You live and learn, I suppose! Thank you for posting.

  • This video has 10 X more views than some of Australias finest blues artists. Seriously cmon.

  • @mistro92 Yeah funny eh..just because it says Telecaster Reissue in there.

  • i like it.......YYEEAAHH!!!!!

  • Very nice sound a great playing.

  • thats a good guitar you have there from Dublin, from Phil in Dublin.

  • Cluttering?? thats bull. You sound great .To me, It looks and sounds like YOU playing your guitar. If you listen to somebody telling you how you should play or sound, then you'll start playing to a standard or form and you'll ending up sounding like everybody else and doing vids showing ' this is me playing Steve Vai's ultra technical guitar solo' ( and most of them struggle to be original and lack the ability to make a complete song or be able to be part of a band). Just do your own thing.

  • Man i really, really love these tele reissues. Ive got a question though man, in a couple of days im getting an american special telecaster, i was just wondering how you thought a maple neck compared to rosewood in terms of playability, and also if the vintage style bridge annoys you as far as innotation and palm muting goes?, thats heaps man, i'd appreciate some advice :)

  • Whats the name of the song?

  • time for a vintage Fender amp now that you've got the right guitar

  • is that a .... pig-nose amp? i haven't seen one of those in years!

  • real nice blues , and that tele is killer , dam i want one

  • real nice blues , and that tele is killer , dam i want one

  • 52 reissue tele + tweed strap + pignose 7-100= unbelievable vintage look and tone!! love it!!

by the way, could you upload the backing track to megaupload or something please?

thank you very much & 5*!!

  • oooooooohhh yeaahhhh baby

  • Rich Deep Tones of my 52 Hot Rod Telecaster! by Kennedi KIng...check that video out, its excellento too! :)

  • it's superbe to thank's for your comment, have a nice day

  • Nicely played! I adore your guitar man!!! What is the color on it called?

  • B.B. King-Style !! Nice influence man, keep on !!

  • Man i want one of these! nice sounds man

  • I've got a 1983 52 reissue. It's been knocked over, burnt and bled on. I'll have it forever.

  • I have the same guitar, and i never use the neck pickup ha. Looks like your'e using the bridge pickup also, where is the tone knob at? just seeing if we have the same taste in tone

  • nice tone there :) gotta love sweet tele vibes. two thumbs up

  • Play a little more sparse, dude. You're cluttering

  • @a46474647

Actually - I agree. That is something I've been working on since I posted this a couple of years ago. I shold post another now that my chops are more in order..

  • nice sound.

  • If you like this, then you should check out Roy Buchanann!

  • love the pig nose, like the one from crossroads (movie)

  • Yeah, except very little if anything in that movie was actually recorded with one. But yeah, that's why I love the colour of these teles. Great movie.

  • Cool..!

  • is it pig nose?

  • Love the pignose amp :)

  • Nice tone buddy. Check out my tele through Matchless DC30. Oh by the way i've pinched some of your licks. Nice job

  • i have to buy this guitar, good video

  • it's hard to have the blues when you have such a tasty guitar!

  • nice tone. what gauge strings do you use?? i had put some 11's on my AS teley, sounded really fat but the original setup was adjusted to acomodate smaller strings i,e; 9's or 10's , so i get sort of a little buzz around the 7th fret on certain strings, i recently changed back to smaller gauge but find that it has less balls this way...i think i'll just take the time needed to set her up to wear 11's. the tone difference is considerable!

  • They're 10's on there...

  • Thats awsome, love the Tele, & love your playing, good job.

  • awesome playing!

  • Gotta LOVE The 52' Tele RI..I have one also!Did you mod the neck pick-up?If so,what's the difference?check out my tele vid when you have time. Thanks man!

  • is fender baja tele the same as fender tele reissue 52???

  • i dont think

  • love love loooove the tone! i'm trying to decide if i should switch from a strat to this tele...

  • Yes :-) I find teles to be much more expressive and straightforward than a strat.

  • the middle position is yummy! great guitar and skills dude!

  • I have a 2001 '52 Reissue. I cannot put it down.

  • awesome!!! great tone and feel!!

  • thats such a pretty tele.

is it CIJ or MIA? or maybe a baja?

  • Thanks very much - it's MIA

  • beautiful

    :D

  • whats a baja?

  • TELE ALL THE WAY !!!!

  • 5/5

  • Great playing and BEAUTIFUL guitar. I just need 600 more dollars and it's mine. Can't wait! Keep up the good playing.

  • sounds like roy buchanan, great stuff

  • Nice Telecaster ! Good sounding and great playing man ;-)

I like the sound you get with your Pignose open.

With mine I play always closed but I do get a try.

    By.

  • I......need..... I n-n-neeeeed T-t-telecasterrrrr!!! :D

(guitars are to addictive to have only three of them :P )

  • i only have 2 how do you think i feel lol

  • i have a chance to buy a fender tele 52 reissue for 700. is it a good buy? can people tell me if they like them or not, and why. also i can get a blues junior for 250. i have now a fender strat(USA) and i love it.

  • man just buy that tele, itll hold the value sooo well and you could probobly sell it for like 1200.00 if you dont like it

do it you will not regret it

  • I'm falling in love with Tele sound !!!! I was a Strato fan, buet last show I played a Tele (a cheap one) and...WTF !!!! The sound was just great !!!! By the way !!! NICE AMP !!!!

  • I love the Tele and I love your playing--outstanding job!

  • Ha, I bought a les paul..then I became obsessive over teles so I bought a 52 reissue....now I am obsessively looking at strats, I feel like a junkie ha

  • lmao ha ha me too

  • i know the feeling. I bought a les paul and now I'm looking for anything else. Preferably an ibanez prestige or american stratocaster.

  • Hey guys - where is the problem?

Why not own a Les Paul, a Strat and a Tele?

If you have a good Les Paul, a good Strat, a good Tele - never give it away!

  • i have all three, but am looking to sell my lp, i never play my strat and i now own 3 tele's and play them exclusively. 2 are ash and one is alder, love the ash of course, but the alder isnt that bad, kinda gets a mix between a tele and a strat.

  • when played well like this, the blues never ceases to amaze

  • nice playin. i read that you wana a les paul... funny how i couldnt decide from tele and les, got a les, and now want a tele. it's always like that until you just get both. again, nice playin. and dont change your style - its good. it sounds like hendrix/srv - which is a fantastic and rare thing.

  • Wow, great vid and great guitar, I'd really like one, but can't afford it (I'm only 13) But I'm saving up for a Peavey Reactor, how much did the Fender cost?

  • '52 Ri it's my dream guitar.

    GREAT video.

please check out mine and leave a comment.

  • gotta love playing the blues, its not too hard, is fun to do, and always sounds so good!

  • I have played a 52 Reissue Telecaster for over a decade. I have to say she is a tried and true road dog all the way. I couldnt go to a gig without my Tele!

    Nice fiddling by the way!

  • good playing but its all be done before, try to break away from the traditional hendrix/srv tone and create one for yourself

  • Beat that thing like it owes you money!!!!!!!!

Serisously great tone and feel. Apparently tone isnt in expensive guitar pedals.

  • great playing and tone

  • I've been saving up towards a used 52 reissue, this video makes me want it right now! lol. 10/10 great sound you've got there. I've heard that the 52 RI's are the best teles you can get apart from the astronomically priced custom shops or the actual real 1952 models. Money well spent then!

  • Hi..i just bought the exact same combination!!...mind blowing..and yes your video was the inspiration for the pignose!!..just thought i'd ask you if you face string choking while bending up the high E string at around the 12th to 15th frets...i've been told its because of the neck radius...you seem to be getting good clear sound while bending though...how'd you manage it???

  • That's great! Actually the pignose is out of action at the moment, as a battery leaked inside it...must get it fixed.

As for the string choking - yeah I do get that problem at times but thought it was down to my shitty technique...nice to know I have an excuse now! Cheers

  • Nice one mate, I have used the same guitar as that, week in week out for 3 years. I agree, the vintage wiring is good for nothing. But apart from that, match it up with a Mesa Stiletto Ace and it will take on the world......

  • Yeah I love that guitar...my wife gave it to me for my 30th birthday. Sometimes I wish I had a les paul, but this will always be my number 1..doesn't sound too shabby with a DRRI either..

  • pignose = THE shit :)

  • that is a lovely guitar... i have a fender american delux tele it just plays itself

  • Dude, what colour is your tele? I've looked everywhere and can't find that colour. I've only been able to find ash/wood effect tele's but they look like coffee tables.

  • It's butterscotch blonde. That is the standard I think for the USA 52 Reissue. You should be able to order one in if you can't find it in a store..

  • Is that really butterscotch blonde?

All the Tele's i've seen with that color had visible wood grain, and I hate that...

I like the color of your Tele, how much did it cost?

  • nice blues

  • HOw soon after you got it did ytou do the modern wiring mod? Did you play much with the vintage switching? What did you thing? Great playing by the way. Love those driven double stops.

  • Thanks..I changed the wiring after a few months. I didn't find the original wiring useful at all in the neck position..

  • Telecaster= Shit.. N'uff said :P

  • Your brain=Telecaster. Now we have some logic.

  • fuck u

  • "Telecaster= Shit.."

    Please elaborate?

  • Maybe he meant "the shit", which would mean awesome...which is surely what he must have meant. I have the '52 reissue hotrod, but I play my nashville tele way more...more tonal flexibility. Your playing oozes Texas Blues...excellent work partner.

  • You = shit

  • ignorance is bliss.

  • nice jamming

  • Has any difference that 52 tele reissue from the 52 vintage tele BB????

    thank you

  • Picture Is very good.

    Nice guitar.

  • cool a pignose and yellow tele i haven't seen one of them since i saw crossroads

  • 52TELE&pignose is MAGIC!!

  • Jesus.. that was really good! Love that guitar too...

  • thanks alot!

  • Excellent playing! I love your tone setup. What is it? Also, I bought a Tele American Deluxe, blond, same basic look as yours but with all the updated goodies. I can't put it down.

  • Excellent piece of work here. I'm just learning some licks and what not on my Tele. I have the A pent'c down fairly well but notice you play it and 'roll' back over certain parts of the scale (hope that makes sense). Anyway, I think this is what I'm missing. Any push in the right direction would be greatly appreciated!

  • You need to learn the different modes of the pentatonic scale so you can play the scale in the same key over the whole neck.

  • I agree, if you can play it all over the neck you have alot more to work with instead of just one position.

  • Very nice playing, by the way.

  • God, I love this guitar!

I'm getting a Mexican one... as soon as I get the money. Dammit, being broke sucks ass...

  • here here, lol. I'm savin up for one but I want the American Tele. $700 to go.

  • how can you have the blues if you have such a nice guitar? ;)

  • I like my Pig nose.

it works. but sure can't play like that

That it what the telecaster is all about.

    it rocks my world.

    Great Job

    corkeyguitar

  • how do you rate the pignose

  • How would you rate the pignose

  • well it's not like playing through a Deluxe Reverb, but for what it is it does a great job. Nice to sit out in the sun and play!

  • Thanks for making your Tele sound like a Tele. Is that the blonde one? I just got the Ash one, very similar. I can't put it down and my Les Paul is collecting dust. I think I will go play it, haha

  • good use of the A minor scales there. i learnt some good licks from this thanks dude !

  • awesome guitar

  • great man...this is the sound of a telecaster..

  • i have a gibson les paul standard, and i have saved up about 2500 and lookin to buy a new guitar. can someone tell me the advantages/disadvantages of a telecaster opposed to a les paul?

  • Hey,

please don't spend that much! I bought one just like this only CIJ for $400 at Willis Music. It was a recent trade-in and you might not get that good a deal but keep checking Ebay. Mine is a Crafted in Japan '52 Tele and it is my new favorite. This is pretty astounding considering I have a PRS Custom 22, an Eric Johnson Strat & some other high dollar(to me, anyway) guitars. Don't get antsy, another great deal comes along eve ryday. Les Paul vs Tele is two different things.Shop around.

  • well they are two different beasts but there are a few things that a tele definitely is better for. the clean sound of a tele neck through a fender amp is amazing compared to a recent les paul clean sound, also i find with my paul that it tends to drop the tuning more than i would like which is certainly not an issue with my 52 cij tele with bigsby which is probably the best guitar i have ever played. fender guitars are also immensely cheaper than the gibsons.

  • i have a gibson les paul standard, and an american deluxe tele, and an american standard tele. i am currently selling my les paul go get another telecaster, its all preference. but the tele's are work horses. they stay in tune way better than my les paul. i like the clean/light overdriven sound way better on the tele's. the only thing my gibson does better is get a real heavy sound. but for the music i play i dont need that. i love fenders.

  • Seriously..is it possible that my fingers can never go that fast? Ive been stuck in the same speed/mode forever. I just cant seem to play like you do.

I know the scale but I cant put it together liek you do. How can I improve?

  • Practice practice practice!

I mean, this guy is good, nice phrasing etc but the fingerspeed certainly isn't exceptional. Just run scales a little bit and keep working! You'll get fast in no time.

  • seriously..is it possible that my fingers will never get that fast?

It feels like Im stuck in the same mode/speed forever!

I know the scale but I just cant seem to put it together like you do.

  • OMG.... just re-listened - Hear that lovely 'twang' that's normally hidden by excessive overdrive / effects - whooohoo - keepin it real!

    Thanks

  • Wow!! - great stuff (and done with a cleanish sound to not hide any imperfections... which there weren't!) Got similar tele myself - MIJ mid 80's with US original hardware / PUPs but sounds really nice nonetheless...

Keep it up - cool ;-)

  • is it a vintage?

  • It's a vintage reissue..

  • Great stuff!!

Is that an American Vintage or a Mex?

  • It's an American one

  • i love your blues man :)

  • nice playing

    root as i like

  • what scale/position are you playing? Is it minor pentatonic?

  • Yeah I think so..only know 1 scale

  • love the tone!!! whats the amp?stay koooool

  • Hey man can i borrow your guitar??Please??

  • Sweet.

  • That improv is da bom man. My old bro has a geetar like dat one too. He's hopeless on it. Did you have to sound proof ya room? coz it sounds like they did a bang up job.

  • U bollox. I know who u r.

  • yeah saw Wolf Mail in Vancouver, BC at the Yale theater, was brilliant, we need more telecaster players out there, all the best dude!

  • That's cool!

What is the name of the song?

  • Dunno, just some backing track I got off the internet..

  • not bad , check out the masters of tele, Albert Collins, Roy Buchanan and more recently Wolf Mail

  • Of course, those guys are my heroes! (Albert and Roy that is..I'll check out Wolf Mail..)

  • What is the background music? Where did you get it?

  • this pickguard is not made of plastic, right?

  • Nah it's the 1-ply

  • how much was the guitar?

  • 1600 euros or thereabouts if I remember correctly

  • Holy crap! What version is it? Even american telecasters (the most expensive ones) sell for about 1200 here

  • Oh sorry, I didn't read the title :P

  • cool man. 52 tele through a pignose. nice sound.

  • Nice playing

  • I play my 52 reissue through an old ampeg reverberocket. Gets a killer clean blues tone using middle position. You sound great.

  • do you prefer the tele to a strat? i do.

  • yep. i'd have a tele anyday over a strat.

  • I'd have to agree

  • Tele over Strat? I have both and it all depends on the sound you need at the time. They're both fine producers of great sound.

  • i can dig this man.

  • Yeah... I love these tele's '52'and you've got a nice combination with the 'piggy'.

  • Hi! The Rythm-Guitar is the same guitar? I love that Telesound! Good Work!

  • This guitar is a beauty and you played very well thx for posting the video good job.

  • Blonde Tele through a Pignose!?!.....Wouldn't be a fan of the movie "Crossroads" (Ralph Macchio) by any chance, would ya?

    J/K, sounds great!

  • Wow, thats a nice Tele. I just made some noise to that same track tonight YIKES. The pignose gives you a nice natural tone. very cool, and nice riffs :

  • m8 i think the colour is cool, very nicely played to, well done.

  • ugly color dude

  • Do you mean the nasty blue painted walls? Surely not the butterscotch blonde!

  • No, I meant the tele.

  • Each to their own I guess, can't say I agree but then again I wouldn't say that about my own guitar would I? Wait til it fades a bit..

  • nice playing though

  • nice playin

  • nice playin

  • nice playin :p

i also got a tele ^^ awesome guitar

  • I really want that fuckin guitar....I really dooo...great playin you make her sound beautiful...or the other way around you decide?

  • Hello,

I have a pignose too but I can't get this sound ! Really good !

  • Dude Im a beginner and I want to get this guitar do you think that thats right let me know

  • Yeah, absolutely. I think if you learn on a tele, you'll then find most other guitars easier to play, and be a better guitar player..just my opinion but I am a little biased perhaps!

  • I think its a great first guitar...especially if you get a nice one, pretty nice playing

  • Dude I want to get this left handed and im a beginner do you think that is right or wrong
