  • I'm late but what island in Hawaii were you on?

  • @jdbrad07 I was on the Big Island. Hope you've had a chance to see our other breakdowns of the Finals - plus a lot of great programming we've been doing all summer!

  • Very interesting!

  • @BBallUnleashed786 Thanks! Hope you've had a chance to see our other breakdowns of the Finals - plus a lot of great programming we've been doing all summer!

  • Lebron got the drop on Chandler because he clearly travels from 6:06-6:08. If not for the travel Chandler would have contested the drive and forced Lebron into a tough layup or at the least two free throws, rather than an and1 slamdunk.

  • @gwoppinallday

if chandler contested the drive..then he will be a part of a poster lol

  • If only Roddy Beaubois was active in this finals. He could have been a key player for the Mavs with his quickness and scoring ability. It'd be hard for the Heat to contain him along with Dirk, Terry, and Co.

  • @tyklug2013 Imagine how good the Mavs will be w/ Roddy back on the floor -as well as Caron Butler - and how about Rudy Fernandez?? They could win it all again easily.

  • Go Mavs!

  • coach nick you are awesome

  • i agree about peja.

  • @YawningBoy He was even worse in Game 2! But I still say there's going to be 1 game in this series where he really hurts the Heat. Don't miss our Game 2 breakdown up right now.

    Coach NIck

  • @bballbreakdown I hope it's during a close-out game 5 when the Mavs are up 3-1.

  • Coach Nick, would you agree that the Heat are getting a lot of calls and the Mavs are getting beat up?

By the way, Jason Terry fell over because he stepped on LeBron's foot and that is because LeBron stepped into Jason Terry's space.

I'm not a hater of the Heat or a Mavs fan. My team was long eliminated and not by the Heat or the Mavs.

  • At 6:03, did LBJ travel?....Looks like it to me O_o

  • @shinobif0rever Me too. It is a clear travel.

  • Comment removed

  • I blame Lebron and Chris Bosh for the Heat's game two loss. LBJ was settling for outside jumpers when he should have been attacking the basket, Bosh has quietly sucked the first two games. His defense is nonexistent, and if he isn't knocking down that jumper he is basically worthless out there. I am starting to believe his big series against Chicago had more to with Boozer then his actually talent.

Game three should be fun, Dallas now has the moment, now let see how Miami responds.

  • @bballbreakdown i really don't like terry's decision making... he's a shooter, yeah, but he should be intelligent enough to know when to make shot and when to pass...

  • No way to stop that ***CRAB DRIBBLE*** aka that terrible 3 step travel superstars are allowed.

  • man Game 2 was terrible for the Heat.

I don't think they choked but their offense was terrible at the end and just did not play their aggressive game at the end lol.

Bosh is costing the team I must say.... both offense and defense.

  • @SquishyCandyftw Stand by - I'll go through the game and get the breakdown up ASAP. Certainly one of the most thrilling games of all time in the Finals.

  • @SquishyCandyftw i think it was the heat's defense that cost them. They thought they had the game. They didn't need to score anymore points. They were lax and all smiles. Dwyane Wade said it himself too. They made a mistake. They knew that the Mavs are capable of coming back but they didn't have it in mind. They just needed to play defense well because there really was only a few minutes left in the game.

  • @YawningBoy yeah in coach nick's new breakdown it shows their defensive mistakes and miscommunication. to make matters worse they barley scored themselves lol.

  • Game 2 was amazing looking forward to that breakdown.

  • I like that You In line.

  • @AJVersatility19 Oh, it'll be even more popular when the T-Shirts are ready!

  • heat in 6

  • Coach, people often say that these coaches watch your breakdown, im just curious but do you have any evidence or source from this?

Would you join an NBA team if they offered you any position? I'm sure you will do just fine since you do a fantastic job breaking down all this stuff,

  • @ZoomZip I don't know of any solid evidence or source, but oft times you see Coach break down a game, and talks about the problems and alternatives, and then the next games you see the NBA coach actually apply in principle, those things that Coach mentions. Like with Kobe bringing up the ball and how to defend that by putting a "shadow" which the Celtics applied. And now with not letting Dirk shoot over his right shoulder. Miami has been the first team to actually emphasize that strategy.

  • @ZoomZip @AJVersatility19 I know from one friend who's spoken to some people in the Laker organization who have seen our breakdowns. I know Sekou Smith at the NBA [dot] com watches them for sure. I suspect they're not the only ones. And they'll see what I'm seeing anyway - but it'd be still be cool!

  • @GeolinkResurrected Thanks! Don't miss our live chat immediately after the game tonight!

  • Bring back Caron Butler

  • @YoooPatrick Probably wouldn't be a good idea, since he would be out of rhythm and out of shape...

  • Like your insight. All in all it was not heats defense that won the game for them, it was just that Mavs could hit there shots they normally make, they got alot great looks but couldnt make. if they would of made half of those shots, mavs would of easily won. 30 something percent shooting any team would of blew them out. Im expecting a spanking from Dallas in game 2. This was prob one of the best game from Miami and worst from Dallas in playoffs and only lost by 8. Dallas wins game 2.

  • @pierrearias

This wasn't one of the Heat's "best" games.Heat shot 30 something percent from the field too if I remember correctly.

Bibby missed open shot after open shot.Bosh didn't score a lot,Haslem missed some open shots, etc

11 3 pointers and rebounding kept Heat in the game. They didn't shot great.Neither of the Big 3 scored

    30 or more.

You're mistaken if you think that was Miami at their best.Miami at their best blew the Spurs out at home by 30

and Memphis by 33.Watch those games.

  • @NCDuke i was talking about this was probably one of there best games in playoffs! most heat games are very close/ low scoring games that could of went either way. Heat are known to shoot under 50% all the time, its either 30 or 40 something most of there time. Offensively the heat are not gifted as well as dallas, its there defense that has been keeping them alive. if you think it was miami's defense that won it for them, then watch game 2 to see what im talking about.

  • @pierrearias Very good point- both teams shot pretty poorly for the most part. If Chalmers hadn't shot out of his mind in the first half, Dallas could've been in prime position to win the game.

  • Would it be too unrealistic to call it Mavs in 6? I don't support them .... but i just think Dirk + Kidd etc, (even dare i say...the owner), deserves a championship more than bron and bosch atm.

  • @eznoob1v1 Probably a little unrealistic. If they are going to win, it'll be in 7.

Don't miss our live chat immediately after the game!

  • Winner, should the lineup be Dirk, Chandler, Haywood, Marion and Stevenson/Kidd when the big three are all together playing? The small lineup they used didn't get anything done the way I see it.

  • @NoName1325 I think Barea has got to be in the winning lineup for the Mavs. So it's something like Kidd, Barea, Marion, Dirk, and Chandler.

  • i refuse to get myself ahead, i will not celebrate untill the final buzzer of the series

  • @tee23en Good idea! Get in on the conversation tonight during our live chat immediately after the game!

  • HEAT ALL THE WAY

  • @Zangboy56 They're off to a great start!

  • Nice vid again Coach. Barea missed several open shots, as did Terry, Kidd, and Peja. The Heat hit a fairly high number of 3s for them, and i think tonight the Mavs take game 2

  • @halowafflebrains True - you can't point to the Miami defense for a lot of those misses. First game jitters, perhaps...

  • I'm in! :D

  • @IBloodSweatTears Love it. I'm in too!

  • i thought both teams played fairly well overall just that miami made plays near the end. I thought the mavs should have been a bit more creative with their half-court offense knowing that the heat will pressure Dirk consistently. If Dirk can't be effective, this series will end quick.

  • @no40 Dallas can't afford to miss that many open shots and give let Miami be close in 2nd half. With Wade and LeBron, they're going to hit shots and get free throws down the stretch.

  • Peja,really...The whole Mavs team where not very good!!!But hoping great things from mavs in game 2!!!

  • mavs will win game 2

  • @wozzers2 We shall see. Don't miss us on Twitter @bballSource tonight!

  • ...and there goes terry kinda falling all over himself funny line at 4:52

  • @wozzers2 Thanks! Don't miss our live chat tonight

  • haha love the new line, coach! yeah i'm in!

  • @meowXIII Awesome. Stay tuned for a line of merchandise with it on there!

  • Caron Butler would be a great defender against Lebron.

  • @kilikilingmasyas I feel like their defense on LeBron was good enough. At this level, while defense is of utmost importance, you have to nail some open jumpers too.

  • hey Nick, just so you know for your breakdowns, Dirk's signature one-legged shot is called DIRKLEG! enjoy hawaii :)

  • @Convisis Yeah! I've heard that before, but don't like it. Sounds like some sort of illness. Just got back from the Dr's office - he said I've got Dirkleg, it'll last for 3 weeks and I gotta take antibiotics......

  • Jim Carrey should watch this

  • @kilikilingmasyas Anyone seen Carlisle and Carrey in the same room? With his hair (when I ran into him last summer) he REALLY looks like him.

  • Great job, I really enjoy your videos Coach Nick. I've learned a lot about the X's and O's aspect of the game.

  • @kileer7 Thanks for BEING IN! Check out our live chat tonight after the game!

  • why didnt dallas have 1 bad game like this against the lakers ?

  • @joewas Miami defense is a whole different animal.

  • lets go heat

  • you in?

  • looks like lebron travelled before he dunked it.

  • @itsAJVD rofl good catch.....that was clearly 3 steps

  • Please breakdown some michael jordan games or some other classic games in the off season

  • @dnttalktomeh Definitely. Lots of good stuff planned for the offseason, however long it may last.

  • Do u think can D-Howard fill in Shaq's place as a the most dominant center in the league ?

  • @amjoode2 He already has!

  • OK, so the problem for the Mavs is poor shooting from Peja, Terry and Barea and Chandler defending Bosh. Doesn't seem too hard to adjust xD

  • @chukcha96 Very true - except for the poor shooting part. If they don't get it together, they'll be in trouble. But Mavericks fans know this - they have to shoot somewhat well to win these games.

  • u and nba jerry are my favorite youtubers

  • @nikos007333 I don't want to sound rude or mean, but what is so interesting about Jerry? Maybe it should just be a podcast, but I have a hard time staring at a freeze frame on youtube while dude goes on and on for 10 minutes...

  • Heat wins game 1 after watching the breakdown on Dirk lol

  • @getsase They're the first f'ing team to play him that way!! Can you believe it? And it worked

  • All the mavs do is shoot 3's...an what good defensive nba team plays zone anyway? Dont worry i'll wait LOL

  • @KingGamer25 The zone is good at disrupting rhythm and flow. But I haven't seen it be really effective for the last 2 series.

  • Excellent video! Nice job!

  • @PL3690 Thanks. Don't miss us tonight on twitter during the game (@bballSource) then a live chat immediately after!

    Coach Nick

  • I hope Carlisle watching it...

  • fuck the mavs!

  • You look like a tard in your thumbnail.

  • mike bibby for M.V.P.

  • Peja sucks

  • I live in houston, i will be listening!

  • @czerrr Awesome. Do you listen to Nuno and Raheel often?

  • it's funny how Miller wrap in bandages boxes out a center

  • @supermanXL I have a newfound respect for Miller. Hope his daughter is doing better too!!!

  • nice job!

    so who's gonna win?)

  • @McVincenity Heat in 6

  • @bballbreakdown

    yeah

    hope you're right

  • @bballbreakdown after game 2 coach, the prediction would be a 2-game win for heat at aac... a lot tougher call but certainly all possible..

  • hope your enjoying yourself but i think every upload on the finals should be uploaded a day before the previous game i mean after

  • @CONNETIC1 Will get the next one up earlier - had some snafus, and Hawaii is 3 hours earlier than LA!

  • @bballbreakdown

oh yeah i didnt put the time difference in consideration

    great stuff by they way

do you think dallas has even the slightest chance in the series ?

  • hope your enjoying yourself but i think every upload on the finals should be uploaded a day before the previous game

  • did you notice that corner of your ceiling looks kind of wet coach? might want to get that checked out

  • @myspacedotco ROFL - I'll tell the hotel to look at it.

  • Lebron will never EVER be MJ or KOBE!! Done deal! He has ruin hes lagacy for ever!

  • @Danalvarez90 lebron is better than kobe but nobody is better than jordan

  • Spoelstra watched your breakdown

  • @apstoh It's certainly possible. But he's doing a great job either way! Totally outcoached Thibs.

  • @bballbreakdown as a coach, whats the big deal about "thibs"? i can only speak as a fan, ive seen some very questionable decisions by him. and by questionable, i mean indefensible. i dont think hes ready for the NBA. i feel like popovich was robbed of his COTY trophy because the bulls had the bigger hype, not unlike the mike brown cavs.

  • @rukawa911 I realize this, but bron gets away with multiple charges/walks a game. Hes just a freakish athlete. It's like the league is advocating and encouraging players to work more on jumping higher and being bigger and stronger as opposed to having finese and skill. At least Kobe and MJ have/had moves and handles.

  • Been waiting all day for this one.

  • @Britochinadianman Thanks - time difference makes the wait a bit longer. Should be earlier on Friday. Don't miss me on the radio in Houston on Friday morning!

    Coach Nick

  • Coach Nick the Head Coach of the Lakers! Lol screw Mike Brown that guy sucks

  • fuck the heat!

  • @alwayzAngry

fucking hater with nothing to do in his pathetic life get a job idiot

  • @alwayzAngry fuck you too ;] crybaby

  • @DcoopsMySon @alwayzAngry @lbj6mj23 Love the passion, Sports Fans! Let's get into it here, shall we? Let's talk about what makes people hate the Heat so much...

  • @bballbreakdown they mad cause heat murdered their teams chances for championship lol =D

  • @bballbreakdown I dont like this super team concept. Thats why I root against the Heat. Watching game 1 felt like the equivalent of watching a all star game exhibition or watching a Team USA practice.

  • @bballbreakdown Me, I dont hate the heat... but I don't like them to win either, because I think Lebron will be prideful if they does... Don't get me wrong, I appreciate his talent, his abilities, and what he can do... But I appreciate down-to-earth people more... I don't like him saying "I'm great" someday...

  • @alwayzAngry "fuck you too" says Pat Riley.

  • Omg Reese

  • @meandantheman: your friend is right. Lebron did/does walk alot. Plus he has no offensive moves, just puts his shoulder down and drives. Also, his handles are mediocre at best. He wouldn't be as good as everyone says he is if all the officials didn't ride his dick so much. That last dunk is a perfect example. Ticky-tack foul AT BEST and he gets the continuation.

  • @youwitdaface69 bro, look at how the refs protect MJ and Kobe and all the other superstars, its just part of the game man.

  • Nice breakdown as always. What hotel are u stayin @ , Coach?

  • Lakers should've picked you instead of Brown :?

  • I was laughing out loud when I saw Miller boxing out Chandler. He has two injured thumbs, is banged up, and has a bummed shoulder and he boxes out a Center LOL

Also when Joel Anthony beat out 3 Mavs, 2 of them being taller than him, to get a rebound.

It kind of reminds me of game 1 of Chicago and Miami. Miami adjusted but Mavs don't really have that kind of quickness. We'll see though. I expect Chandler to try harder getting rebs and same with Marion.

  • @SquishyCandyftw If the Heat win this, they have the Bulls to thank, I think. The Bulls got them really prepped for this series.

  • @bballbreakdown I also think Chicago got them ready when it comes to rebounding as well.

Also Joel Anthony had a lot of deflections and would give the offensive rebound to a teammate. If his hands weren't made out of stone he would have ended up with a lot more offensive rebounds in his box score.

  • I dont want Heat to win, its gonna create a era where every good team is gonna consist of 2-3 all-stars (Thunder excluded)

  • @funakiexpress Why is the Thunder excluded? The Thunder have Russell Westbrook and Kevin Durant.

  • @mattroom because durant and westbrook got drafted into thunder/supersonics.... whereas heat have a star from toronto, and the cavs..... new york has a star from denver, suns and possibly chris paul... thats 4 possibly 5 teams losing players for the sake of 2....... denver didnt better after melo soo meh

  • @funakiexpress kevin durant and westbrook made it to the all-star... lol

  • @SquishyCandyftw @mattroom i dont think anyone gets my point -_-

  • @funakiexpress I do - and your point is right on the money!

  • @bballbreakdown THANK YOU lol

  • @funakiexpress

Alright, I don't want to sound like a dick but you said "where every good team is gonna consist of 2-3 all-stars", and the Thunder fit the bill.

  • @mattroom where they recieved thoes players trough trades, thunder got westbrook and durant through the draft hence my point

  • just out of curiosity. does lebron travel on that last play where he dunks it? is he stepping as he picks it up (left foot) and then takes two more steps or is he just outright traveling? just wondering

  • @meamdantheman I know people are always trying to find lebron travel (Wade traveled about 4 times in the game last night) but that wasn't a travel.

  • @Ckknowless thanks. i'm guessing since he's crossing over and then finishes with the steps it's not a travel? i'm just trying to distinguish it since i know someone who's a diehard mavs fan and was saying how lebron was traveling a lot in the game.

gotta learn from lebron. no denying his talent

  • @meamdantheman Oh no problem, if you want to actually see some travels about half of the nba forget that you only have one pivot foot and tend to pick it up. Oh and Lebron travels quite a bit aswell don't get me wrong.

  • woot, great review nick

  • have fun in hawaii chach nick lol

  • @andrewtsang999 Thanks! Having a blast! Don't miss our live chat after the game tomorrow. AND I'll be on the radio again in Houston on Friday morning!

  • FIRST

    Anyways, amazing job once again.

  • @PeanutSouup Love it! Way to be first!
