loved Secret Origins as well. got me into Hal's character even more. though I've never read emerald dawn but I've skimmed it and after looking at it I think I prefer John's version as well. and great vid!

I've got to be honest, I was pretty pissed off when Secret Origin first came out. At the time, I felt like they wasted seven issues of what could have been great Blackest Night buildup just to re-tell a story that we, as fans, should already know. But after I read it a second time, I realised that it's some of Geoff Johns' finest work, and is argubaly better than the Sinestro Corps War. When the live action film comes out, I hope it follows the same basic format.

And I totally agree. At first I was pissed at johns for rewriting Emerald Dawn, but i read SO and ED again and Johns' version came out as my fav, Hal seemed more heroic.
