  • if you have a chance everyone I'd definitely check out this Manchester three-piece called Turrentine Jones. Singer reminds me of Jim

  • Who is the dude in the video with the beard hanging with the group?

  • I think Jim lived his lfe the way he wanted...he lived life & he was smart man they say. His life ended way too soon, but we al live life the way we want {different roads we all travel but it our choice whick road we wanna travel down}

  • who gives a cats cock the doors were the shit! end of.true jim was fkd in the end tho but many follow that path of drugs n alcohol

  • He was way aheaded beyond his time !

  • se asemeja mucho a la version del disco. La verdad que quedo muy buena!

  • piękna muza ..

  • @Kellyfr94 Przejmujemy. :D

  • hotel rooms for 2.50 :=D

  • esto ver a los años y escuchar no tiene valor alguno

  • I think your waisting your time trying to compare the door's to any other band in history

  • But Jim Morrison was not a common drunk. His IQ was 149 and his philosophy was that of Friedrich Nietzche; a hardcore nihilist, a belief that I believe was exaggerated and enhanced by the liberating revaltions made available by LSD. Psychadelics make you realize that we as mortals are on the edge of life and knowing this, Jim was prompted to explore the most intense lifestyle that he could, in 27 years. Jim wasnt afraid of life, he was testing it, constantly. Until finally he found the edge

  • @Swigzabrewski Nietzche wasn't the only philosophical or artistic influence in Morrisons, but without a doubt he had his influence

  • @Swigzabrewski not to split hairs, but I read in "No One Gets Out of Here Alive" that his IQ was actually 156. Wow.

  • @Swigzabrewski WTF Nietzsche was NOT a nihilist!! He WARNED everyone of the coming nihilistic feelings people would have when they found out religion was bullshit and THAT was what Jim was saying too.

  • @Deckeon74 Jim Morrison didn't believe religion was bullshit. He saw society's perception of religion as bullshit. He was actually a very spiritual person, new age if you put it that way.

  • Jimbo's looking a little beefier here than on the Sullivan show. It's been said that what took Elvis 15 years to accomplish, Jim did in 3. It may have been from eating more chicken than any man ever seen, but I suspect the problem was drinking more booze than his recommended daily allowance. But even in '70 he could still belt out a winner half the time.

  • @babamuna66 I absolutely love Morrison and I loved his music but you got that statement right about him belting out a winner half of the time, because the last few years that he performed he was so wasted (whether due to alcohol or drugs I don't know) that most of the time he couldn't remember the words to his own songs let alone stand up

  • 3:19 Jim Morrison made some pretty manly faces after taking a swig of beer x)

  • i cant get over his cute mannerisms! he was very childlike.. innocent and genuine :)

  • jim wasnt happy very often he really didnt want to be the frontman but it was his fate wish he could see how much we still love him and his music he thought it was his looks he was also into writing poetry and wanted too make movies he was unhappy it was too much for him too face the crowd ray and jon they had a hell of a time to get him to face the crowd honestly i think the drink and drugs was the only way he could face them but it was too much wherever u are in the afterlife jim rock on

  • from 1968-69 (a year before these photos were taken) to 1970, it looks like jim aged about 10 years. no exaggeration, he looks like a significantly older version of the dude who played at hollywood bowl in '68... the miami trial ran over his insides like a gravel truck. sad deal. reminds me of elvis in the last year or two of his life.

  • @kelvinkloud he does look sorta bloated, was it because of the drugs. Dont they cause facial bloating. How old was he when took the icon shirtless picture where he's looking directly at the camera, he's face is very thin there.

  • @redsoxvette Jim was primarily, for the most part, a raging alcoholic...he used other drugs occaisionally, especially LSD, peyote, marijuana, and other psychadelics popular among the counter culture. After he became famous, he had the money, the means, and the lack of responsibility of having to go to work everyday, to unleash the boundless limits of his alcoholism. He did cocaine when he drank but that does not cause bloating. He drank a 5th of jack daniels a day the last 2 years of his life.

  • also, it was actually the fasting Jim did while dropping acid in the early days that caused him to drop from 165 to 130 in the first half of the summer after he graduated from UCLA in 1965. He was 23 on the threshold of fame when the "young lion" Joel Brodsky photo session occured in New York City; a little over a year and a half after the band formed. So you see, it was the drugs that inspired and sculpted him into a star but the alcohol that ultimitley destroyed him

  • It's amazing. No, it's fucking amazing!
