Just a note for the pedigree fans,: Tizway is officially dark bay/brown which is very obviously WRONG. He's a chestnut, albeit a very dark one.

@bg147 maybe you should realize how slow the track was...they didnt water it like usual bc they were expecting more rain. then with the small amount of added rain up until the race, made the track heavy...pay attention to the final time for the TEST stakes...come on now

@rpb15007 I did not see the other races. Just watched the Test... slow 23 opening quarter and they picked it up a bit with a decent 45 4/5 half. I would have to watch the other races but I take your word for it. The half of 49 is still slow, but I will correct myself and retract the ridiculous. It is a weak division but that is not a surprise to anyone. I can only imagine what a Farma Way, Jolie's Halo, in Excess, or Sea Cadet would do today with their quickness..

@rpb15007 Noticed in the Test that the speed horses were under hammerlocks which had an impact on the opening quarter/half. Did the track favor stretch runners?

Nice to see a 6 year-old healthy, winning, and sound as the result of a patient training regimen. All to often horses are dismissed when they don't blossom at 2 and 3. Jim Bond shared insights into his approach with thoroughbres in an unbridledTV interview on youtube. Will's Way to Tizway...the way of Bond appears to be the right way. Congratulations 007.

You failed to mention the female family(just as important as the sire and broodmare sire lines) of Tizway, which Will's Way( a son of Easy Goer). The granddam of both Will's Way and Tizway is Willamae, female family is just as important.

Obviously a nice horse, but the time was desperately slow, which suggests that his stamina wasn't really tested. Still a big question over whether he will be a real threat over 1 1/4 miles in the BC Classic.

@tigerboy1966 His pedigree suggests that he not only can stay the 1 1/4 trip, but be effective in it as well. Tiznow, Seattle Slew and Northern Dancer were monsters at 1m2. He showed he can easily handle two turns, and he's shown he has the speed, as witness his blistering run at the G1 Met Mile. It would be great if he could follow in his sire's footsteps in the Classic.

@EASYGOER4LIFE Easy Goer is no where to be found in Tizway's pedigree. The main feature in his bloodline is of course his sire, two-time Breeders Cup Classic winner, Tiznow, and then from his sire's side, Seattle Slew, and from his dam's side, Northern Dancer, Mr. Prospector and Danzig. Yes, a solid pedigree indeed, and I hope this beast is sent to the Classic for which he has already qualified.

@rcschumann I didn't say that. I said that Easy Goer's son Will's Way is in his pedigree in the female family. Tizway's dam Betheny is a half sister to Will's Way. Will's Way and Tizway share the same granddam Willamae! More accurately, Tizway is from the female family of Easy Goer's son Will's Way.
