See, the problem is you are trying to use facts, stats & logic to understand the Harper gov't & their policies. While research clearly demonstrates that identifying & preventing the root causes/factors of drug use & criminal behaviour is more effective & cheaper, it doesn't make for good sound bites & tv commercials. Simply put, putting bad guys in jail sounds good and makes us feel better and that my friends translates into votes.

most of the heavy drug dealers(guys who had access to kilos of coke) i knew growing up came from upper class families. mainly cause a someone in the family was a career drug deal, or had a job that allowed people to smuggle they would then sell ounces to someone who distributes if that person goes down they cut ties and an look for someone new, mainly the kids selling would have some sorta fucked up home with a hood mentality

I like your video a lot, but I wish you had actually related it to Harper's much broader mandatory sentencing for all young offenders, not just to do with drugs. These policies will not work, as has been proven over & over, & people do not seem to understand this. Crime rates are all down over the past 10 years across Canada anyway. It's a fear game.
