  • I'm actually in martial arts in Regina I go to spirit of the dragon this is how they teach us to tie our belts and sometimes I need help and the first thing I type in is how to tie your belt! Thx awesome video

  • This is just one of many knots you can make, or at least they differ from sport to sport. I have just watched four different videos about how to tie the belt and a different knot was made in each video I watched...

  • Yep out of all of the instructionals this is by far the best for traditional BJJ

  • im a white belt in BJJ. and this helped me learn how to tie my belt. thank you

  • First problem, at the beggining he let his belt touch the floor. Thats know to be disrespectful in my art

  • best instruction on you tube. thanks

  • i like it .. this is good

  • thanks i just started kickboxing and can do my 1st belt thanks now i can

  • awsum

  • Great video

  • Thank you!!! this is the only video I could find that i understood~!

  • u dont look like a black belt it looks lik your a white belt w/ black spray paint

  • he bleached his belt

  • the fortune cookie will face ur left if ur a left hander or the rite if ur a rite hander, iam nt sure about this

  • thx!

    Kössz a segítséget!

    Hálám üldözzön!:)

  • Looking at the GI/costume.. what martial art is that?

  • The "fortune cookie" knot faces left in your first method and faces right in the second method. Does this matter in Karate?

  • i was wondering this also, my instructor showed it facing the other way

  • @norwoodmatt yes it shoud always face left. This is towards the heart. An open heart for martial arts. In the second method he started on the left hip this is where his mistake was. To do the second method do what he said but start on the right hip.

  • hahaha typically students get it by yellow belt. what retard still cant tie their belt after their first session.

  • @sbm2000 wtf? are you serious? many people cant tie theyre belt after first class. did they dedicate that class to showing you how to tie your belt?

  • It's actually very easy, but you made it sound hard...

  • nice little fortune cookie knot.... haha

  • hey hicktuber, I don't like this guy either, but that is the right way to tie a belt. I personally think he either has the shittiest quality belt ever.....or he stole it off a dead guy.

  • thank you for this video you explained it very good. i understand there are many different ways to tie a belt. does this video show the correct way to tie a belt for brazilian jiu jitsu? if i do BJJ is this video the way I should tie my belt?

  • Thank You very much for making this video! you explained very well :)

  • I tie my belt easly and now my belt presents good...

  • great job on explaining how to tie a belt.

  • white in color, symbolizing that the student has returned to the stage of innocence. and that symbolizes that he has trained for many many many years

  • When a student begins his or her study of the martial arts a white belt is worn, which symbolizes a stage of innocence. As training continues, the white belt becomes soiled and starts to turn brown in color. With the passing of time the belt becomes so soiled that it turns black in color, symbolizing that the student has reached the stage of the Black Belt. As the years go by and with more training the edges of the Black Belt begin to fray and turn white. Eventually, the Black Belt turns all....

  • @yoshimitsublade123 Sorry, but the idea that the belt starts at white and turns darker over time from being dirty, and that leads to the brown and black belts is a myth. If one's belt is that dirty, it should be washed. Dirty clothes, equipment, and hygiene shows disrespect..

Jigoro Kano created the distinctions of white belt (student) and black belt (teacher). He later added the brown belt for the senior student instructors. The other colored belts are a much later American addition.

  • @chuk99 Just saying this, unless something is truly dirty, it can be known as a disrespect to wash your belt. I'm not sure if it's completely true, but i've heard it. I'm not arguing, i'm simply stating something.

  • uh-

I don't think you even need a belt the way that your gi is designed

  • u dont get it do u ??

  • obviously he doesn't

  • what is it that he does not understand? The belt represents your grade + it is for holding your GI together.

the guy in the video is wearing a "t-shirt"

    lol, great video btw

  • well what he has on is more of a dobak (korean tae kwon do uniform) but still like u said we wear bets to show where u are in the curriculum.
