I used to watch these Dean Martin Roasts all the time.... they were all spectacularly funny!

Compare these actors to todays talent, few are really distinctly different today, from the others.

They don't make them like that anymore.... pitty.

Dean Martin offered no apologies for his excessive drinking and smoking. He was doing one or both in almost everything you see him in. He died on Christmas day 1995 of Emphysema(no doubt from the chronic smoking) at the age of 78.

After the death of Dean Paul, he gave up all his will to live & quit working, talking to people, etc. He really had no will to live anymore, I can't imagine what that's like; to lose a child before yourself!

Michael Landon had one of the most successful and sustained careers in entertainment history, from "Teenage Werewolf" until he died, tragically, from cancer. The man was never out of work, and is less revered, perhaps, than he should be, because he always, always, made it look so effortless. It takes a lot of hard work to make it look like you're not working hard.
