I'm black, and the plantation reference is to the word "plantation" meaning an agricultural area filled with plant life. I think you're seeing racial bogeymen where there are none.
If you want to know what would set people off nowadays, notice the women with bare breasts at the end stamping out "pollution". It would only take one nervous intern to kill this cartoon segment today because of that, and that's what's wrong.
If this were aired today it would piss off republicans because of the enviromentalist message and it would piss off liberals because of the plantation reference.
i sing this song every time i meet someone named shawn. some shawns get it and some shawns dont. t i o n shawn, shawn, shawn, shawn. so im a dork, so what?
this one was a killer for me as a kid in the `70's... my name is Sean. Yeah, you know the rest.... this was my frikkin theme song !! LOL still hate it !
This is cool-but what happened to the pollution/solution cartoon, with the traffic jam and the cyclists at the end? That used to be on here but now I can't find it. Nanto if you have it could you upload it again please? And there was another "ecologically aware" song I remember from EC. It was sung by the Short Circus where they all jump out of trash piles at the beginning. At the end Denis Nikcerson (I think) says "Don't be part of the junk generation" and throws a can. Do you rememer/have this

@DMS888 That's not "racist". If anything, it's "educating kids about Southern history"

@SnowbirdFlock dont wory about it. there is always someone screaming 'racist' if u white. ignore that crap...

@bluegrassreb1 Thanx pal! There's so many racial wars on YT it isn't funny. And yes, I am indeed white

This was such a classic catchy song. I used to joke spelling our neighbor Sean's name "Tion." Haha.

Great vid. Pollution would be your first word from the "tion" family. I remember many of the ads of that time trying to fight pollution.

I remember getting in trouble singing this song in class during the third grade! I would take this song to church if I had a band.

Yup, I remember this one, though I didn't remember its focus on pollution or all the nekkid cartoon people stamping it out, LOL!

@rayvensmoon That is exactly what I thought! Right down to spelling "nekkid" the same way.
