  • I would agree with this if he was talking about building fewer bombs so we can afford better schools, ending oil subsidies so we could afford investments in domestic energy infrastructure. But he's not. He's talking about eliminating a large part of civil society in favor of a bloated defense budget and insanely low taxes for the investment class. My taxes are lower than they've every been, and will only go up if the tax cuts these guys want for the upper UPPER class are passed.

  • Obama has been in office for over 2 and a half years. He has had more than enough time to show what he can do as president. Let's think about what he has done (even though you don't need to think that hard to see that he doesn't know what he's doing). Obama has made the unemployment rate higher, dragged our country into even deeper debt, and blamed Bush every time he's screwed up. His slogans were "Hope" and "Change" during the campaign. I HOPE there's a CHANGE in office in 2012.

  • Hmmm

  • @broadjumper1 Wow, way to be a douchebag. AP Classes aren't easy at all. It's not like you can just crank out an A like that. A 3.8 is still a good GPA.

  • @akgolfdude - Spoken like another whiny bitch teenager...Guess what Skippy? He doesn't have a 3.8 OR take AP courses....if you believe that you're just as dumb as he is....

  • Raising taxes supports our criminal government's plans to ruin the country and take our rights away

  • @TeslaDRay - I have to admit that as much as I despise the tea baggers, they were able to show that a grass roots effort can explode into a national movement. The problem though is that their movement is being co-opted by the lunatic fringe like Bachmann & Perry who won't stop at restoring fiscal responsibility, they also want to foist their sense of morality on everyone else. Apathy and sense of hopelessness is what has led us here.

  • @broadjumper1 - morality? Like pleading for the lives of serial killers on death row, and killing unborn babies? Like the ACLU defending the "right" of psychos dressed in Nazi regalia to march in Skokie, Illinois?

  • @oracle2world - See, it's exactly THAT kind of rhetorical bullshit that makes people disgusted with politics.

First off, I never called Bachmann & Perry 'immoral' as you seem to be inferring that the left is. I said they want to foist THEIR brand of moral belief on everyone else. So what do you do but try to launch into some moral equivalence BS with me without ever having called theirs into question, except for how they wish to IMPOSE IT.

  • @broadjumper1 - Do those vinyl records that 20 somethings buy come complete with the snap crack and pop of scratches? Just wondering how much a trip down memory lane you are nostaglic about.

But I digress. (Why do you carry water for leftist socialists? You sure as h* don't sound like one.)

People live their morality. If it resonates among the vox populi, so be it. You expect folks to be like Al Gore? Decry CO2 and then buy a $9 million mansion at sea level?

  • @oracle2world - Only if the 20 somethings scratch 'em themselves...ah, the pigheaded arrogance of youth, masking their true ignorance. I don't CARRY water for anyone skippy, and I also don't align myself with the bullshit rhetoric of either side. We have serious issues in this country and you can either offer serious solutions or you can be a dogmatic ideologue...so far the ONLY things coming outta you is blame and the word CUT.

  • @oracle2world - Finally regarding freedom of speech, people like you should remember the words of Evelyn Beatrice Hall who said: "I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it" which is commonly cited to describe the principle of freedom of speech...

But I guess you believe free speech should only apply to those of whom you happen to agree. Damn that Constitution, huh?

  • Another 10% on my taxes means i lose 58% of what i earn. This is sick and wrong how they want to take so much money and spread it to everyone else. They steal from the middle class, exempt the wealthy, and give free handouts to the poor ,and lazy pepl get checks in the mail. Is this america anymore?

  • woohoo people argueing good job utube :p

  • You cant say wealthy silly goose. You have to say job creators.

  • Thanks to liberal policy the world economy is crashing. We must do two things to stop the meltdown NOW!!! Firstly, we need to raise all payroll taxes 10% for one year. We also need to stop (right now) wasteful handout programs like medicare, social security, unemployment,, etc. and lower the minimum wage to $2/hr so we can compete with China. I will work with Paul Ryan and my other republican colleagues and take immediate action on these proposals. God bless the GOP!

  • @GOPkicksbutt where will we live those people lots of them who make 1.00 in thos countries, do not have clean water or a building to live in they live in huts and tents. Why do you not take 2.00 an hour and see how you could live off that. it is a shame that with all that this country has been blessed with you still want all and the rest of the world ahve nothing. so ungrateful you and your colleagues are.

  • Raise the taxes of the rich

  • @slave2f8 are you serious get over yourself, I live on the line between Hoke and Moore county Poor and rich so i get a very good view of both i know way more people on welfare that "sit on there ass" than i do tax payers, every wealthy person i know works their butt off for what they have, but at the end of the day the government takes their money and gives it to the pot smoking moochers next door. Get real.

  • @ridgearice149 clearly you did not read my whole comment, since I said that if I had the choice, I would abolish welfare. That being said, I don't think that people sitting up in an office ordering people around work "harder" than someone in, say, construction, or harder than people who take multiple minimum wage jobs to feed their families. I didn't say that the wealthy should be taxed to go to free rides, I said that the wealthy should be taxed at the same rate as the middle class.

  • Hey it's the shit of YouTube

  • @flyleaf290: America's safety net. Although I do agree that the safety net should be minimized and passed into the hands of the states and the private sector, I do not believe that it should be immediately abolished. Unlike them, I believe in peaceful and reasonable reformation.

  • @CrackedBiscuit - f* reason, it has never worked in the past. Things go from okay to crash and burn, there is no inbetween.

  • @flyleaf290: The problem with the Tea Party, my friend, is their refusal to compromise. I agree with their motives of returning America to the libertarian constitution on which it was founded; but what disappoints me is their heartless method of reaching their goals. They are so obstinate and cantankerous that they ignore the flaws in the unfair tax code and seek to utterly destroy America's safety.

  • @broadjumper1: Secondly, do you agree with the notion that the Federal Reserve should be restructured so that a standard like gold could be adopted, returning value to America's dollar? I'm curious in your position in the political spectrum.

  • @CrackedBiscuit - The Fed is an awful mess and I believe it's over due for restructuring if for no other reason than to improve our own confidence in our financial institutions. As for returning to a Gold Standard, in THEORY this would put us on the most sound financial footing and enforce fiscal discipline, but in practice, I don't believe it's possible (there's not enough gold in the world being the most obvious problem) and certainly not while we have some 14+ trillion dollars of debt.

  • @broadjumper1: If there were more sensible people like you at Capitol Hill, we would not be in this mess.

I most definitely agree with you, but I have two questions for you. Do you believe the with time, patience, and courtesy, helpful welfare programs could be reformed so extensively that they are properly transitioned into the hands of the private sector?

  • @CrackedBiscuit - Wow, great questions! Are you REALLY just 17? To be honest, there's no simply answer to such a complex question. I believe the solution HAS to include a combination of both government and private enterprise. There's greater risk in letting either be solely responsible for these programs because we're talking about money and money, simply stated, corrupts. I think the biggest question is: "how do we operate an entitlement system through 'for profit' enterprise?

  • I just looked at the comments below and I was amazed what they had said. I saw this situation on the newspaper too and i kinda forgot what the title was since it just disappeared on my kitchen table but it was about Italians paying stuff and that rich people have to pay more on their tax though.

  • @n00bama nice tag

  • Taxing the rich do away with bush tax cut you know the jobs creators.!!!

People who can help, should help.

It's in our own self-interst to help when and how we can

  • @MrYayToday - "Caracas officially Santiago de León de Caracas, is the capital and largest city of

    Venezuela"

  • @oracle2world - Yes, I'm sorry for my mistake. Venezuela. I was catching a plane, and not thinking about Caracas. It really does not matter, however, for this discussion concerns the United States, not Venezuela (or Argentina either).

Did you read Warren Buffets editorial in the New York Times? (yesterday?, I think)

When you've saved up over $100,000,000, what then? Roll around in a roomfull of $100 bills? Buy 1,000 pairs of shoes in one day like Immelda Marcos? Buy 10 houses?

    An Empty life.

  • @MrYayToday - Warren Buffett is a gambler. He bets on investments. Amateur gamblers are in Vegas, professionals are in Wall Street. He rewards economic activity that "wins", and he keeps score by his personal wealth. Otherwise you end up with the Chevy Volt and the "Bridge to NoWhere" (in Alaska). Where economic activity makes people poorer.

But why stop at Warren? How about you? Compared to starving Somalis, you are very wealthy. Give away your PC to feed Somalis.

  • @oracle2world - The discussion was: raise taxes, or cut spending or both?

It is not Somalia, Caracas or your loopy economic observations.

The subject was: should "rich people" pay a larger percentage of their income in taxes than people with less income?

I said "yes", you said "no".

You know nothing about Warren Buffet. Where the Chevy Volt or the "bridge to nowhere" fits in here, I do not understand, nor do I care to.

    Get a life, loser.

  • @MrYayToday - I have never understood anyone who wants higher taxes. At the end of the day the rich are not going to be poor. Try as you might, the only people that end up paying taxes is the middle class.

  • I've volunteered with Gettlove, feeding and providing Social Services to "Homeless" people in the Hollywood community.

Heath-wise, both physical and mental, are OUR PROBLEM. Like it or not.

  • It"s HOW you use Taxes. Everyone explodes about what the Government fails to do in an Emergency, or in an issue THEY care about. No one works for free. Bureaucrats avoid criticism, and are mostly protected from losing their jobs if they 'follow the rules'.

We need a thourough overhaul of Government Agencies, and sensible rules that don't rule out 'Common Sense".

Wholesale elimination of Social Services will not balance the budget. Revolution or Evolution? It was a debate in the founding of USA

  • Politics Religion and Rick Perry 2012 and the DON for VP SuperPreyMantis is out !!

  • Rico & Recover.

  • During the depression era taxes on the rich were 96% since then republicans have been fighting on their behalf. That shit is getting old!

  • @bwaybaby1991 you fucking retard of COURSE they pay that much in taxes, they have so much disposable income that it is just a drop in the bucket for them. you think its right that a teacher has a few thousand available to spend each year while CEOs are able to buy yachts and beach resorts? comparatively they pay nothing, sales taxes and property taxes arent progressive so obviously they pay a smaller percentage. go back to fox news you mindless sheep.

  • I think a combination of spending cuts and tax increases are necessary for a more balanced budget. Our taxes should be used to invest in our infrastructure, education, healthcare ad economy. Not pay for congress to bitch at each other. I wonder how much money we'd save if congress worked gratis? Since they aren't doing anything to help the people. I want to benefit from the taxes I pay. It's my right as a citizen.

  • The problem is that the top 1% of this country doesn't pay its fair share. If Washington taxed the wealthy more, we could balance our budget. The other problem I have is republicans wanting to heavily cut funding to social service programs. Programs like social security, Medicare/caid, planned parenthood and welfare help 90% of Americans. Isn't there a discrepancy there?

  • @shroyuken

Why should we tax anyone using this method at all? You say that top %1 do not pay their "fair share", what is thier "fair share". I can understand if you mean that they tax evade very often, but if you mean that they are not taxed enough i don't see what you mean. Should we not be able the money that we earn?

Also, where do you get your statistics?

  • @1:03 deliver accountability to the tax payers. Am I hearing this right make us accountable.

  • Why hasn't the Re-evaluation of the TAX BRACKETS been discussed. I hear spending i hear saving I hear creating money out of thin air, but no tax bracket evaluation. Erase Trickle Down Economics. The amount one pays to the state should be proportionate to the amount that one makes. This over-indulgence is breaking the system. What would Corporate be without each and every single individual who willingly participated in their growth. You are not entitled to the excess. IT WAS NOT JUST YOU.

  • I don't get this whole "town hall" thing. They do realize 60% of YouTube are either whiney 7 year old boys, stupid teenagers posting videos of people getting hit in the balls, or cat videos.

  • Can't we compromise and do both? Increase taxes on the wealthy (who can certainly pay for it after the years of the Bush Tax cuts on the rich) and spend less on things like the military. When he talks about reducing spending, he means cut beneficial programs like social security medicare medicade and planned parenthood. If social security were cut, my gradmother wouldn't be able to live in her house anymore. And I like how they use "Job Creators" instead of "Rich" nowadays.

  • I'm offended that this youtube townhall exists.

  • Top rated comments are idiots.

  • Is Raising Taxes a Way Forward?

If i earn in a month more then 10 working class people can spend in a year . . YES!!

  • Huh, lowest taxes for the rich in my whole life, this must mean there should be tons of jobs. Why, then, are so many people unemployed, the economy is in the tank, and I work for way less than I should be making at a non union contractor job that we're lucky hasn't been moved to Philippines or India. But hey, you know, I'm working cheaply because I am desperate, and my employer then doesn't have to pay FAIR wages. Truly a crap situation.

  • Taxes just put people on the streets...

  • Comment removed

  • I duuno...

Is it "fair" that someone with 2 kids, who makes $25,000 a year, should pay the same percentage "flat tax" rate as a hedgefund manager who makes $500,000,000 a year?

    Gee... I don't think so.

If Warren Buffet and Bill Gates (and many other Billionaires) think they SHOULD pay more, then maybe someone in Congress should listen.

Tax reform. Responsible spending. A sharp eye on the Military and it's budget. Compulsory National service, but not just Military service, in place of the draft.

  • @MrYayToday - yeah, it is fair, when the couple at $25K lives in south alabama in a trailer on their parent's farm, and the hedge fund manager lives in Manhattan where an apartment goes for $250,000 a year.

Stop trying to tweak the world for "fair". How can you say the 400,000 Somalis dying is "fair"? You should eat one meal a day so they can live.

  • @oracle2world I agree, life is not "fair". And there is wide disagreement on what "fair" should be, and IF Government should have a role in 'evening things out'.

I believe there is a duty for Government to protect its Governed, and that includes helping the less fortunate. That is why we have Social Security, Unemployment Insurance, Medicare, The Veterans Administration, etc. It's why we have the Military, the EPA, and should have functioning Financial Regulation.

    Some take advantage, even rich

  • @MrYayToday - I've seen the slums of Caracas, by comparison the poor in America live like kings. America has done everything it can in a free society to help the less fortunate. The next step would be taking kids away from their parents (that don't feed or clothe or educate them or take them to free health care), and taking homeless off the street and back into state mental hospitals. And God bless the EPA!

  • @oracle2world - That's a rather cavalier comment. We call ourselves the greatest country on earth and the best we can strive for is to say "well, at least our poor are better off that those in Venezuela? Is this what our nation has become?

  • @broadjumper1 - Well, you do have a point. But I would exclude Detroit and San Francisco from this greatest nation on earth concept.

  • @oracle2world - While you might not like Detroit or San Francisco, you'd be better served to look at the Southern States where the greatest rise in poverty has occurred. The five states with the next highest rates of growth were in the South: North Carolina (19.7 percent), Florida (18.7), Tennessee (18.6), Alabama (18.5), and Georgia (18.2). Over 45% of the nation's people living in extreme poverty live in Southern States including 11.7% in Texas alone compared to 3.9% in Michigan.

  • @broadjumper1 - I live in the South. The triangle in NC, Charlotte, Atlanta, etc. are booming. Elsewhere people are in the poverty where they want to be. I worked hurricane Katrina/Rita relief, and storm victims were resentful of the shelters, they could not drink, smoke reefer, beat up their families, or play with their guns. And I mean they were seriously unhappy. No one in Michigan can live in extreme poverty, the cold drives them out like termites (no termites in Michigan).

  • @oracle2world - Yes, I'm well aware of the economic activity in that area, but your exuberance belies much of the truth of the real economic picture throughout the south. As for your depiction of Katrina victims, it's outrageous to make such broad claims and has NOTHING to do with the topic at hand. Frankly your comments have gone from rational to almost hysterical. What's your point, that all these people are exclusively to blame for lot in life and they somehow deserve what happened to them?

  • @broadjumper1 - If you want to do better economically, you have to take a risk. People are chicken to do that, hence people are where they want to be. A very hard lesson for me to digest, but true. And my observations about Katrina storm victims is from personal observation, not second hand. There are way too many "disadvantaged" people to worry about saving - just cut them loose and don't look back.

  • @oracle2world - How Ayn Rand of you..The problem with Ayn Rand is that she was a hypocrite. After living a life railing against the idea of government benefits and moral absolutism: “There can be no compromise on basic principles. There can be no compromise on moral issues", she too took her Social Security and Medicare...And I don't doubt you regarding the Katrina storm victims, but for you to suggest your handful of personal observations stands for tens of thousands of people is absurd.

  • @broadjumper1 - True and true. And John Gault's rant at the end of the book is a bit long-winded. And I saw Katrina "victims" in their 1950's homes, with a FEMA trailer out front, tapped into city fresh water, and a neatly broken hole into the sewer line for effluent. Seemed like they were getting on with their lives. My overall point, back on topic, is that raising taxes won't do squat. Taking all income from folks making $200+ won't end the deficit or pay down the debt.

  • @oracle2world - "Taking all income from folks making $200+ won't end the deficit or pay down the debt."

That's one man's opinion, but what we know for sure is that while cuts alone could end the deficit, they certainly won't pay down the debt. And we also know that cutting taxes not only has EXPLODED the deficit, but hasn't brought us any jobs either. Bush's cuts proved this.

  • @broadjumper1 - Hitler blamed all the problems of nazi Germany on the Jews. In America all the problems are because of "the rich". If only the rich would pay their "fair share", everything would be right in the world. Bull*. There is no tax increase that is going to make a difference in the deficit and the debt. None. Tax rates just determine how fast you go broke, not change that you will go broke. I'll keep my money and let the gov't go broke next year.

  • @oracle2world - Ahhh bullshit. No one with a brain is claiming ALL the problems in America are because of "the rich", that's a pointless argument. But if you're waiting for people to start feeling sorry for the wealthy, you've got a long wait ahead of you. Once again, the problem we have to day is that the poor CAN'T pay taxes, the wealthy WON'T pay taxes and the middle class is disappearing along with the jobs they once held, so HOW are they going to continue to contribute?

  • @broadjumper1 - Well, you have put the truth very concisely. The poor don't pay taxes, the rich avoid taxes, and the middle class is no more. We have achieved that european ideal. High taxes, lousy healthcare, people at the top of the food chain living VERY well, everyone else living day to day, and the immigrants taking over. So I'll just take my 401(k) , live on a boat in the Cayman Islands, and f* America.

  • @oracle2world - And It appears your solution is to abandon ship, just light a match and burn the fucker down.. If you wanna sail away and play Cap'n Ron for the rest of your life, bully for you but then stop whining about it. Otherwise, grow a pair and play your hand through instead of just folding. Half the problem is this country is the godddam defeatist attitudes..if everyone felt like you in the 30's and 40's, we'd have all faded out in the Great Depression or if not then, surely in WWII.

  • @broadjumper1 - Whoa, sounds a "glass half empty" rant from you today. I was just adding my $0.02 to the topic of raising taxes, and is it "the way forward". The question was cutting spending 10% and raising taxes 10%, and voila, the deficit is CUT IN HALF! Not eliminated, no payment on the debt. The "cut spending" part of the deal, of course, never happening. Since spending still goes up, f* paying anymore taxes.

  • @oracle2world - You're talking about sailing away to the Caymans, but I'M the one who's glass is half full? Dude, you're the only one here who's talking about packing it in...No, the question has NEVER been cutting spending 10% and raising taxes 10%, where the hell did you get that? Obviously cuts need to be far greater than any corresponding tax increase, but the problem is the right won't accept ANY tax increase, these clowns went on TV and said the won't even accept a $10 to $1 deal...

  • @broadjumper1 - check the info just under the video " If 5-10% of spending was cut from the anticipated 2012 federal budget and matched with an equivalent amount in tax increases we'd cut the federal deficit in half."

But I digress. If Congress just FROZE spending, the budget would balance without any new taxes. But Congress can't even freeze spending, much less cut anything. So new taxes won't do anything.

  • @oracle2world - Christ, are you a broken record? Where did I say spending shouldn't be cut? TODAY spending should be cut in various sectors stating with defense and entitlement reforms, but unless the baggers are willing to come to the table willing to accept SOME increases, even if it's just closing 'loopholes' and ending corporate subsidies, NOTHING is what we'll all get.

  • @broadjumper1 - wow, if you remember vinyl records, you are really getting long in the tooth. You have some 78 rpm treasures? How about 45s? I'll cut you some slack on the 33s.

There is no federal budget for fiscal year 2012, FY12, that begins Oct. 1, 2011. The feds have NEVER been able to cut one F* dollar from their spending. None, nada. So the upshot of raising taxes will be more taxes, that's it. No cuts in spending. Death, taxes, and deficits are 3 certainties in life.

  • @oracle2world - Really? Guess you haven't heard that vinyl has made a comeback, especially among the teens to 20-something's. I'll cut ya some slack for being utterly clueless...or you could try to brush up on your idioms...

Like I've said before, you can equivocate all you wish but the only way through this is going to be cuts AND tax increases. Or you can do what you do best, give up. Or at least roll over an play dead because you clearly have little else to offer.

  • @oracle2world - The truth is that somehow, someway the wealthy need to step up, either in doing things with their wealth that actually creates jobs so there's a larger base of tax payers or they're going to end up with higher rates. And you can keep repeating the some tired dogma, but the FACT is CUTS alone won't pay off this debt, certainly not in our lifetime. To suggest you just "keep your money" while the govt goes broke is ridiculous, head-in-the-sand thinking.

  • @broadjumper1 - either Medicare and Social Security gets cut, or America isn't going to be around. That's it. Old people are very conscientious about voting and voting their interests. Even if they take everyone with them down. So I don't figure America is going to be around in its current state.

At the end of the day, the weathly are not going to be poor. Even if they have to buy gold and leave for Belieze.

  • @oracle2world - **sigh** Yes, I already said these programs need reforms, exactly how remains to be seen. But that's NOT all, so does military spending and various other expenditures. But to believe that tax reform shouldn't include legislation that requires profitable companies or those who've made huge capital gains winfalls is utterly absurd. As for the wealthy, believe me, I'm not worried they'll suddenly be out on the streets...

  • Thanks for your stupid fucking video, idiot congressman.

  • i think we should raise taxes.

However, if u produce AMERICAN jobs, u get tax breaks.

    its incentives.

IF a company that made 30 billion dollars in a year hired 100,000 americans, they should get a tax break

  • You want fair taxation? FLAT TAX! EVERYONE PAYS IN!!! It's a fucking genius idea that will never come to pass here because there are too may idiots out there that believe that the government should just hand them everything without them paying in a dime.

The entitlement era has to come to an end. We need to start WORKING for what we have instead of just expecting Uncle Sam to hand it to us.

  • Yes, Congress has a responsibility to spend money "wisely".

Was going to "War" with Iraq "wise"? No! Furthermore, nothing was asked of the American public to PAY for this unnecessary adventure.

In WWII, there was gas and food rationing. War Bonds, metal drives and home service.

In the Eisenhower Administration, the top tax rate was 90%. It was a properous time, during which the Interstate highway system was built, the National power grid was built giving our country a great economic advantage

  • Both, you Idiot. Tax inequality is ruining our country. Unnecessary, unpaid for wars of choice have contributed a great deal to our present situation. Here's an idea: How about all members of Congress get the SAME Healthcare (with no favoritism from Insurance companies), Pensions, Cost-of-living adjustments that you guys have legislated for the rest of us? How about the SAME adherence to the laws you write? How about election reform? I think we'd all be happier without Big Business's influence.

  • In answer to your question: YES FOR GODS' SAKE YES JUST DO IT ALREADY

  • Tax the rich dumbass

  • creating jobs. isn't that the bullshit talk we got decades ago when we were introduced to the trickle down economy? Shit, very poor countries and third world countries have free health care. We're still struggling with immigration and overall regulation of much of our spending. Look at the war on drugs in Mexico. How much money went there and how much of a difference had came withing a 5 year period? We as a whole have grown to be fuck ups, we're to blame as citizens for not doing something

  • YOU BETTER FUCK BITE THAT BULLET UNTILL YOUR TEETH BLEED CONGRESS

  • How about we stop giving benefits to illegal immigrants who pay no taxes before we start talking about taxing hard working citizens of the US even more?

  • Don't understand why this has so many dislikes, the guy has a point. Ron paul looks like he got the election in the bag though :D

  • FYI to all the "tax the rich and let's get over it."

    1) they pay 95% of all taxes paid to our government.

    2) only 50% of ALL citizens pay ANY sort of income tax.

    3) raising taxes on them only gives more of them the incentive to find loopholes around the tax code.

The best solution is to spend EQUAL TO the amount of money that we bring in. It's funny; hundreds of people get arrested each year for ponzie schemes. The fact is that social security is one large ponzie scheme itself.

  • who saw the word raise and tax in the title and then just disliked XDD

  • @TheSplodeZone People disliked because he is agenst raising tax.

  • Stopped watching at "job creators". Their taxes are the lowest they've been in THREE DECADES, but look around! Where are the jobs?

  • If the Federal Government could not spend the money we have given them already wisely...why would we want to give them more money? Common sense budgeting here people.

  • Congress has failed the citizens of this country by NOT putting our needs first. Instead they want to save money without hurting their own pockets or those who line them.

Tax the rich and let's get this over with.

  • RON PAUL 2012 LOOK HIM UP!!! THE ONLY UNCORRUPT POLITICIAN!! LOOK HIM UP!!!

  • @rojm Fuck off.

  • @GodHatesCanada FUCK YOU FUCK YOUR GOD AND FUCK YOUR OPINION GTFO!

  • @Bertolucci Yea, I want someone like you in charge of america, angry and irrational.

  • @GodHatesCanada Okay the first thing I'd do is bulldoze your fucking house with everyone in it you fucking prick.

  • @Bertolucci Violent, angry, and irrational. Your painting a very positive picture for Ron Paul supporters. I would love to vote for someone with supporters like you.

  • @GodHatesCanada i loled at your name im not sure why people arnt mad at you for that

  • @flamingarse1 Im canadian.

  • @GodHatesCanada I don't support Ron Paul. I just fucking hate you..

  • @GodHatesCanada FUCK YOU FUCK YOUR GOD AND FUCK YOUR OPINION GTFO!

  • @GodHatesCanada

    umad?

  • How about increasing the taxes on the Rich, Stop Bailing out any business, and implement a system that allows us to decide were our tax money is spent. Also, switch out our current capitalist system with a socialist system that would allow everyone to become equal. And finally, Find a way to keep congress from voting on ways to prevent any bills that benefit the middle and lower class from being prevented.

  • @shadow0116957 Why not become a robot then cause that's simply implausable even to primative species.

  • Let the richer get richer and the poor get poorer am i wrong?

  • Comment removed

  • fuck you congressman ass-wipe...

  • @steveownseverything it shows you stupidity by you language why don't you come up with a reason why you don't like his video and support it. don't have your head up your ass.

  • The truth is that its both. The only way we can actually get out of the deficit is if we raise taxes to increase revenue and decrease spending to cut down on the amount the deficit rises. But knowing how Congress works, nothings ever going to get done, as its just two major party's bickering over who's opinion is better.

  • @TheStanHat The point is raising taxes is throwing money down the toilet. I don't care who has the money, rich or poor. But I will bet that whatever they're going to do with that money has a better chance of being successful that what our government would do with it. Spending is the problem, plain and simple. If you're having to borrow 40% of what you spend, you need to make some lifestyle changes. That's just reality.

  • @Josco83 Those who don't believe in any positive role for government should stay out of it. Seriously, what should elected officials do, sit around and make sure nothing happens? Americans are as tired of the do nothing Republican Congress as they were with the pussy whipped democrats when they were in control. Get the money out of politics first.

  • "Normally you don't raise taxes in a recession, which is why we haven't. And why we instead cut taxes...you don't raise taxes in a recession. We haven't raised taxes in a recession....We have not proposed a tax hike for the wealthy that would take effect during a recession...the last thing you want to do is to raise taxes in the middle of a recession because that would just suck up, take more demand out of the economy and put businesses in a further hole."

    Obama in 2009

  • ‎"I contended that for a nation to try to tax itself into prosperity, is like a man standing in a bucket and trying to lift himself up by the handle." —Sir Winston Churchill

  • Stop these wars and we might find some extra money left over

  • lol did Britain win the war against the colonies? That's so stupid.

  • No more empty promises? Wait a minute.......that's a promise. Tricky tricky!

  • OH I got more cut all worthless gov programs like EPA. And no outsourcing jobs and oil etc. bring that all back here and out those jobs out for the americans. Close our borders and ports and become a self-sustaining nation.

  • Now the border is real simple. They come across the line we shoot em. Tanks are also put there and we send a message saying: "We will use military force if this illegal immigration doesnt stop. Also no more free healthcare for the mexicans and they must serve a 2 yr sentence in our prison just like them.

  • Tax reform should be a:

"FLAT TAX" say? 10% on everyone INCLUDING POLITICIANS

    Welfare Reform:

2yrs of goverment aid to go to college and get an asscoiates degree. Once the 2yrs is up you either get a job or flip burgers

Needless Spending- Spending money on Peanuts, Fruitflies, Southwest flea, & shrimp on a treadmil? SRSLY? These things don't require study people!!

Term Limits on every office. All Legilative, Executive and Judicial branch members get a (2) term limit.

  • Get out of the 3 wars, force the rich to pay their fair share and get rid of the loopholes that make them even richer, and tax the ones that ship jobs overseas to oblivion, or they they realize that it is cheaper to serve U.S. citizens with service in the U.S. and not some country where they can pay 2 cents to some guy who can barely speak English just so they can have a new car every month. Also remove taxes that make it a consequence just for living, like the Marriage, Death, and Inheritance

  • >_< Oh my God, this sounds so f*cked up it actually scares me.

  • Lololololololololol dick sucker rofl

  • Ahh yes, it's their fault - those "rich guys".

It we need more tax revenue, raise taxes on everyone - equally.

But we're going to need to cut spending also - yes that means teachers and "government workers".

  • The Truth...the truth is you have a class of people who are allowed to create money out of thin air ie...Federal Reserve cut the head off the snake and get rid of the FED and the IRS...return to the gold standard and all the wars stop because they can't print the money to pay for them. Kick Wall Street out of Washington, stop treating corporations as people and have the people vote every ten years to see if the corporation keeps it's license to operate.

  • @ZinnadineZidane

Raise taxes on the rich, end wars, get people back to work.

They aren't spending now because they are out of work anyway.

  • Republicans don't want taxes raised because they think they are going to strike it rich someday, but the reality is they most likely won't.

  • Yes, lets fire 10's of 1,000's of teachers and government employees to give tax cuts to millionaires to "create jobs?"

  • The United States has had the highest job growth when taxes were the highest.

  • Nyone that thinks higher taxes is the answer is a fucking idiot.

  • @slipaholic

Um I do, lets raise taxes on people with over 1 millions dollars by 5% that would help our deficit so much and make it so we wouldn't need to cut programs that help the middle class

  • @schmitty422 As long as the rich is taxed im fine with it.

  • @schmitty422 Yea all slackers want the people who work to work harder so they don't have to work.

    Seriously just, FUCK OFF.

  • @schmitty422 if you raise the taxes by 5% unemployment would skyrocket and im guessing you are an obama supporter if he did that it would destroy any hope of him being reelected. You need to take an economics class it might do you some good.

  • @noobama20124567

Your telling me to take an economics class, please look at what history has shown us. And I'm mad at Obama,

    He's not a real democrat,

    1) he extended the bush tax cuts

    2) he's exporting more people than bush by a longshot

    3) he's launching a surge in afghanistan

    4) he put social security cuts on the table

    I'm no Obama supporter

  • @schmitty422 but when the goverment raises taxes people are not going to have money to create jobs or put into business and business will not hire new people. The goverment needs to keep the hand out of the american people and let us work for ourselves we don't need a stimulus to help the economy we need everyday people to spend money and the way to do that is to give the people more money thus lower taxes.

  • @noobama20124567

Taxes for the upper class when Reagan was re-elected were 50% now it's 35%, taxes were higher under Reagan then why aren't we gaining millions of jobs

  • @schmitty422 taxes might have been higher but it was due to tax cuts by reagan that caused economic growth all the way to the clinton's era. you go to an 8th grade history class they will tell you that reagan lowered taxes. He Reduced growth of Government spending 2 reduced income tax and capital gains tax 3 reduce government regulation 4 controled the money supply to reduce inflation. When clinton raised taxes in 1993 income of the IRS by the top 1% dropped.

  • @noobama20124567

Also i think it was clinton that passed the laws on Loans that allowed everyone and their grandmother to get a loan. When they couldn't pay, the lost their homes, cars, etc. banks weren't getting their money so now we have a huge money problem problem.

Alot of people like to put the blame for everything on Bush, i think it's probably human nature to have to find a cause and pin your frustration to it. We can't all be sheep we need to know stuff for ourselves.

  • @noobama20124567

Right now the top 1% have 37% of the wealth, 90 to 99% have 40% of the wealth, and the bottom 50% have 2.3% of the wealth, do you see that wealth inequality! And we had a recession in 1990 so reagan clearly wasn't the reason for growth in the Clinton admin. and also Clinton created 10 million jobs more than reagan. Yes he did de-regulate which he admits now was a mistake.

  • @schmitty422 When bush left office the unemployment was around 7% and in 2007 it was at 5%, Obama comes in and promises that the unemployment will not go above 8% if we passed his stimulus, it is now at 9.4%

and staying, the government doesn't create jobs business creates jobs.

  • @noobama201245 What Do I say we do? 1) Raise the top to rate to 50% 2) Break up these banks that are "to big to fail" 3) Regulate the banks and their trading practices 4) Get out of Iraq and Afghanistan 5) Get rid of oil subsidies for Xxon Mobil and BP 6) Campaign finance reform 7) Have real investigations by the FBI of Wall Street executives 8) Stop the oil companies from selling gas at 70 cents more per gallon than needed 9) Get rid of offshore bank account loopholes That's what I would do
  • @schmitty422 So you want socialism?

  • @noobama20124567 '

YES! The police department is socialist the fire department is socialist, public transportation is socialist, hell the military is socialist because we pay taxes for those services to be provided, There is no such thing as a completely socialist country or a completely capitalist country, And look at those "Socialist" countries of Sweden Norway and the Netherlands, there doing way better than we are!

  • @schmitty422 THAT IS NOT WHAT THE UNITED STATES IS FOUNDED ON. you take your government handout and leave america alone. This country was founded on hard work and small government. Demerocry is the way to go. that is why America is the top of the world. The economy will fall and rise. that is why everyone wants to come to this country because it is a democracy. READ THE CONSTITUTION! This country was founded on democracy and needs to remain a democracy.
