This song was written for Joe Walsh after he took Stevie to a park to see the fountain he'd had built in memory of his daughter, Emma Kristen, was killed in 1974 in an automobile accident on her way to nursery school at the age of 3. She later told a British reporter that Joe Walsh was the great love of her life. That happened in 1984, after they had toured together. In his 1974 album "So What", Walsh recorded a song inspired by Emma's death titled "Song for Emma".
