  • I love this song & I was born in the 90s

  • A nice song by Latha... beauty of rainnnnnnnn

  • simplyyy......niceeeeeeeeee & love this song...

  • So lovely....just great!

  • Lovely song, good to hear even after 32 years. wonderful. But Maushmi Chatterjee walks without slippers in most of the scenes but Amitabh wears shoes all along. Most of the movie songs have this !

  • @drivesafely100 yeah - budget I guess! and heroes had higher allocations than the 'poor' heroiens?

  • @ kalyantr7---- I agree; the Lata version is definitely much better and more romantic.

  • very nostalgic.

  • It costs nothing to have fun in life! Here is proof.

  • Lata version of this song is better than Kishore.

  • @kalyantr7

Only the picturisation is better, if we just consider the audio i feel most will disagree, the trance like effect that one feels on listening to the kishore version is absent here, this feels more like a happy/jolly song , the voice track is even with very little modulation and hence does not stir up the "emotionally lost in the song effect" (any body who likes kishore would understand what i mean here, its his usp) that drowns you in the song like in kishore's version

  • @sushilsam agree - kishore's version is in a class by itself

  • Seeing this video, one understands the romance associated with mumbai monsoons...whattasong.. i wish i was born in that decade.. :)

  • Rohit jee Time machine never permits that

  • This song has become eternal. That wave, the rain kissed tree tops, the rain drenched streets has power to evoke a kind of deep nostalgia in me for things and days gone by. How simple and pure life was back then. I came across this song in 2008 and ever since then i have come back to enjoy it time and time again. The music: how well it carries the rain on its strains. I am sure I will never get over this song as long as i live with a sane mind.

  • old bombay look much better then new mumbai!!!!

  • no comments on this song bcoz its amazed me

  • the beauty here is the simplicity-

also note how easy it is for big stars to walk around Mumbai-

  • @srinibgl3 it was that easy for amitabh to walk around on the roads like that because it was part of the film set...those bystanders were told to act as if it's a normal public scene lol...also due to the reason that bombay was half as crowded as it is nowdays..just look at the traffic then and look at the traffic on a typical bombay road now...things aint how they used to be my friend...

  • @tsx104ever oh, i did not know that-the set looks very real-

are you sure it was a set?

  • @srinibgl3 lol it had to be...i mean come on, you think amitabh will just stroll around on bombay streets and people would just like walk by like they didnt notice? (he had already reached the peak of his career, and you know how fanatic they are about him)

  • @srinibgl3 also, if u wanna get an idea, look up the old golmaal movie (with amol palekar in it), and in the movie there's amitabh's guest appearance where they show him shooting a scene for his other movie Jurmana, where it's in a bar/club with other folks gathered around in tables....they later show him walking out of what seems like an indoor studio, but if u look at the actual Jurmana movie itself, you cant tell it's a studio set...check it out if u get the chance.

  • love amitabh:)

  • wow! What ever happen to that 70's Bombay...not Mumbai...I love those days of Bombay when I was kid in last 80's...but 70's Bombay in this song looks more green and more beautiful...paradise lost honestly...

  • I miss this old Bombay :(

  • Seems to me ..those developments in those days were on the right track..then bang! what happened? the "indian leaders" started looting and stealing..losing nation's development vision for the future; how sad,it will take 200 plus new cities to be built to recapture that past vision again!

  • Rainy season is always romantic

  • i wish i was born in 50s so that i would hv seen all this in bombay i love bombay and my wish is jeena yaha marna yaha iske siva jaana kaha plz frnds pray that mai bombay se kabhi se juda hojao

  • Bombay in seventies, enough said.

  • muaaah...ovely song

  • EXCELLENT SONG IT LOOKS SO NATURAL

BUT MIDLE OF THE MOUSAMIs CHAPPAL IS MISSING ITS ONLY SEEN AT END OF IT

  • JANE KAHA GAYE WOH DIN

  • What a melody! Thanks for posting this visual feast.

  • good old india...

  • Why is only rain that makes environment romantic??..

  • an amazingly love-drenched vid man....loved it..!!

  • Its the rainy season in 1979. Amitabh & Maushmi romancing through the entire city of Bombay. A beautiful Vintage rememberance - Buss, Cars, Taxis, Beach, etc. Vow....its an absolute beauty. But I feel pity that the same can't be done in 2011 becoz the roads will be flooded now than what we see in this video. Enjoyed the most.

  • I really love you this song and lyric such a wonderful.

  • very beautiful composition...a lyric unforgettable ....music mesmerising...and choreography, conspicuous by its absence.....

  • Mumbai the rudest city in the world and New York is the friendliest city according to Reader's Digest survey in 2008-9

  • Just posted my harmonica rendition of this track....but I rendered it after Kishorda's version, just slightly different than this...hope you would like it...

  • Mumbai Rains..Mumbai Rains..!! hmm .movies of those time was So much drowned to core in mumbai..!! portraying Citylife in Cinema means life of Mumbai..!! living is like hell but still Love it..or can say got used to it..!!

  • My all time favorite rain song.Walking down in the rain holding hands is really romantic. Love the song too much.

  • My all time favorite rain song.Walking down in the rain holding hands is really romantic. Love the song too much.

  • Throughout the song, everyone who has an umbrella is carrying a black umbrella. The production designer naturally would have ordered dozens of them. But did we not have the cute polka dotted ones or the ones with flowery designs in those days? Or were those too expensive? Btw, marine drive looks so beautiful in this song.

  • Why is everyone mad at "smileymadhuridixit".. Do u guys really think that a dumb person like her wd be able to comprehend ur sensible critism.. I think not.. So leave SMILEYMAD whatever alone...

  • nice song!!!

  • Notice the moment of Mausami tapping on the hand of Amitabh (2:38) as she is unable to catch the walking speed of tall Ab... just marvelous... :) I love her looks and simplicity in this song...

  • simply the best ever song especially when you listen in this monsoon season.

  • very melodious song ! Ever green song ......!

  • One of the best rain-songs ever! Mumbai..like a dream..Amitabh and Moushumi just looking like the average couple in love!! Lata Mangeshkar has never sung so spirited as she did here. Kudos all around!! A masterpiece indeed.

  • heeey AB looks so cute in his drenched three piece suit

  • Look at the frame at 2:05. Been my dream to photograph such a moment..

  • lovely couple - there is palpable chemistry here - favorite song too... and oh she is wearing heels.... omg - woman in a sari, unbearably sexy....

  • @Brahmoham Sari is a perfect example of Yin and Yang. The more it conceals the more it reveals in a subtle way!

  • mumbai was such a beautiful city once...

  • The "Budha" was actually a stunning ,tall ,man. I have always dreamed of having a son like him.

We have one Amitabh, how sad. MASTER, you are the BOSS. Take a bow. No actor has a screen presence like this man. Awesome. Those who criticise him are either cowards or are paid by SRK camp.

  • toooooooooooooooooooooo gud vedio song also

  • very good.

  • ?Very good song by Kishoreji.

  • Wow!! Rains in Bombay (now Mumbai!!) remain as full of fun - even after 40 years!!

  • Excellent song now what can anyone want 6FT 3 Amitabh Walking and 5 ft Moush mi AS GOOD AS RUNNING ALONG ON Bombay roadside ,you can see real Bombay the way it has been filmed i really appreciate those great composers who have given this song an immortal soul

  • this song never gets old for me.

  • This real rain

  • 2:09 holly shit. No shoes? how can she walk around like that.

  • That's Amchi mumbai (Bombay then) rains & the beautiful Marine drive , Gateway and Oval maidan..more so good concrete roads during those days..with less traffic on the roads..Brought back old memories of chilling around Marine Drive in the rain with college mates and having chaat and bhel puri & vada pav at Chowpatty with hot cutting chai..

  • @vignesh15 Amen! Bombay rains were always good to get wet in. And life was simpler.

  • Luv dis one more than KK version though actually its very diff to compare these two

  • hey all....i dunno why but i like this version better than kishoreji's....r.d rocks.....purports me to aold world of romance in incessant rain and a picturesque city.....what melody!!

  • Strange 9 people can't appreciate good poetry, music and voice..may be they like Sheila ki jawani more

  • Romance in the visuals, music, voice, actor, actress, rain, ocean ... nearly everything about this song is romantic!

  • True Romatisism beyond words

  • Strangely it is not as good as the male version sung by kishore. But very nice to view rain, which is the faciliatator of love and romance.

  • i dedicate this video song for mere bhaiya, bhabhi. perfecte suiteble for them. jj dxb

  • n look wata rainy season na they r enjoyin n i enjoy 2 c both of them .

  • really nice scenes. n nice song.

  • Oh man.....Been 18 years since I left Mumbai but miss the city so much. Brought back old memories of walking along Marine Drive in the rain with college mates and having chaat and bhel puri at Chowpatty with hot tea. Seen the comforts of the western world but videos like this make you long once more for a few days of Mumbai in the rains...walking along uninhibited and getting sprayed by the waves. Lovely video and fantastic song.

  • cute girl with huge bazookas !!!

  • amazing song! and beautiful scenes in & after rain!............ I Love it...

Pahale Bhi Yuun To Barase The Baadal,

Pahale Bhi Yuun To Bhiiga Tha Aanchal,

Bhiige Aaj Is Mausam Men, Lagi Kaisi Ye Agan

Is Baar Saavan Dahaka Hua Hai,

Is Baar Mausam Bahaka Hua Hai

  • For d "others" hu ve commented unnecessarily.. treditionally..we dont ve d concept of date. & abt d wearings..d suits & saaris,,dis is d way we ve grown up in india..seen our parents...wearing blazers & saaris on traditional ocasions.must tell u .dis song is picturized v btfully.... innocent way & sort of free in tht era.. I ve seen dis vdo 100s f times...and still feel tht era wth d same freshness.. try 2 understnd & rspct d cultre f others.. Hats f 2 d ppl hu ve contributd in dis btfl creation

  • Awesome songs................ Mumbai and rain no comparision with any part part of world. but before you have to lived in mumbai for atleast 1 day in rainy days,

  • Beautiful song. I Love it...

  • yaro main sochta hoo agar ess mulak kay 2 mulak na bantay to aj ye be mera mulak hota per nayroo nai ye nai honi deya

  • @adam9ist , Aap "nayroo" (Nehru) bolo yaa hum Jinnah bole baat yeh hain ki in the end politicians are still milking the "two nation" theory to their maximum. In Pakistan, it's also the army and the mullahs who are milking it along with some feudal politicians. In India atleast, we don't have that problem and never will, Inshallah.

  • Vintage Amitabh + vintage Mumbai + frolicking in the mumbai rains + Lataji singing in the background = Sheer Magic. Thanks for uploading this beautifully simple but lovely song. I wish Amitabh and Mousmi were paired more often. They look good together.

  • Comment removed

  • @sanjitas Sorry but I do not know who is KC. Regarding Moushumi, I am sorry but to me the people and things I mentioned in my post made this song memorable (for me). Take either Amitabh out or Mumbai landmarks out or take Lataji's voice out and the song will not be the same. Certainly no disrespect to Moushumi and you may find the song not the same if she was taken out. To each his/her own.

  • AB shouldn't throw stuffs on the street. We should keep our country clean !

  • amazing!!!!! n so simple

  • ah! its great to have soemone to think about when i see this song! to be in love-the greatest feeling ever...amazing song:)

  • If you were ever in love, then you can relate to what is happening here.If not,my deepest sympathies

  • why Amitav is wearing suit, it looks odd in Indian context.

indian people have odd sense of dressing, they will wear formal things in weekend

and informal in work place that shows that they r from developing country

  • @SMILEYMADHURIDIXIT in ur country is everything is perfect !!! tell me?? i never seen u bt i can say that u r relle bored human!!!!!really............ask ur self!!!!!!!!!

  • @koolfire7002 , i don't care about what u say , as u r not at all important in my life as u r nobody to me.

my sweetheart hubby thinks that i am most beautiful and most interesting girl which really matters to me.

in my country people are very civilised and sophisticated with good sense of humour and with high ethics

unlike some unethical , uncivilised , who can hide identity and how power only on-line like timid and coward

  • @SMILEYMADHURIDIXIT

hhehehhehehe ur really funny..".my sweetheart hubby thinks that i am most beautiful and most interesting girl which really matters to me" dunno whether to laugh at u or to feel sorry for you...lol

  • @SMILEYMADHURIDIXIT He's dressed up formally 'cause he's on a date .. duh .. Everyone likes to wear formal clothes when being on date..and come on..it's a song..a single song cannot show what the whole population of a country wears in the weekend and in the workdays duh...that u can only get to know by visiting the country ;) give it a shot u'll be surpriced =)

    Peace out <3

  • @nsmbla ignore my previous comment was it was meant for koolfire7002

but i don't need any advice from anybody

  • @SMILEYMADHURIDIXIT "informal in work place that shows that they r from developing country". No - it does not give any sign of being a developing country. In Google US, people come with a singlet, shorts and thongs. :)

"why Amitav is wearing suit, " - He is on a date with a traditional Indian woman.

"it looks odd in Indian context" - My father wears suit everyday. So, I dont think its odd.

  • @getalifein , i can comment whatever i want , whats your problem

i luv U.S that's the best country in the world for me in every sense.

why somebody is so worried about my comment don't know, some Indian have no sense of dressing at all

that shows how they r brought up and what class they belong to , very lower middle class.

i am not commenting on you personally

  • @SMILEYMADHURIDIXIT - No one is worried about your comment. You can comment whatever you want. Nobody is stopping you. Don't you think that the same goes to everyone and youtube comment has also got this "Reply" feature for the same purpose. I am sorry if you are hurt but I had no such intentions. But I think I was polite enough in explaining/contradicting from your point of view.

No one is saying anything about US here. Live wherever you like most.

    Peace!

  • @SMILEYMADHURIDIXIT O bhai USA!! agar hamae reply tumhae lane important nahi hai to itte kay roj jhankte phirat ho.............hahahahaha

  • @SMILEYMADHURIDIXIT you are commenting on "Indians" as if 1 billion+ people can be stereotyped into a single archetype. That is unfortunately incredibly ignorant of you. Also, for someone so busy pretending to be American or whatever it is that you are pretending to be, you should really practice your English better. Otherwise, you come across as one of "Indians" with funny syntax that you are so very busy disparaging.

  • @baparri fuck u asshole....

  • @krkishorkumarkr did you understand my comment? first, grasp what I said...then comment. And try to come up with something abit more original. There is a reason 16 people clicked like on my comment. I think you completely understood the opposite of what I was trying to say.

  • @SMILEYMADHURIDIXIT

    hahahahahaahahha good observations !!

in Bollywood anything can happen, even " I am singing in the rain "

but he is not at all wet without even umbrella, luckily not revealing all without makeup !

unlike his cute partner, unfortunately could'nt see antything !!

  • @SMILEYMADHURIDIXIT

    How old are you, 7?

  • @bauhaustoronto I agree.!

  • i luv this song

  • 2:12 how can she walk bare feet on those streets? she is cute and this video is awsome! love in the old days

  • what was amitabh taking out of pocket to offer? moushmi? some paper / chana?

  • seeing this--- one who has loved will only understand what a wonderful feeling of love could be ! rest will just watch this video. as.- exhilarating ..

  • Being a Pakistani I miss these songs a lot, Now Indian film industry sucks, their songs are no way near to these in early 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s... come on guys what happened to your industry? Just listen to this song... wow what a song man... Listening to Kishore Kumar gives peace of mind.
