If you lived in Australia nearing the end of 2011, you would have seen it on the news all the time. 75% of the time being thanks to GetUp.

Marriage equality also isnt the only drive, but many good causes.

Simple way to get the best deal with boat people (for everyone)

Take a boat every so often to the gulf states for a safe trip to Australia. No one would go in a leaky boat if there's a safe free trip, and if they try send them back on the return trip and ask them to wait. Then we can control how many come, and which ones come. Then, while they're applying on shore, send them to do community service, so our tax dollars go to some good. Or if possible, actual work. It worked for the Irish poor.
