  • my friend, where did you get the mirror pickguard, i have a RG and i want to put a mirror pickuard :)

  • I was just curious 555Custom, hoping you could be of some help on Ibanez pickguard replacement. I just ordered a new brushed metal pickguard set from an Ebay guitar parts dealer for my RG350MDX and when I received them in the mail, the holes didn't quite line up with the stock pickguard. I was a little scared at first but I went and drilled new holes in the body and installed it anyways. I was just curious if you ran into any problems such as this when you changed your pickguard out.

  • @barflin Indeed i had the same problem. I drilled new hole to fit it perfectly.

  • i dont think the mirror scratch boards are that much of a great idea.. wouldnt it get really dirty really fast? finger prints would show easily?

  • @glitcha100 yes fingerpint are show easily . Need to clean the guitar if you want a perfect effect ^^'

  • Great job! I have a 555 myself and never could understand that negative comments that this guitar always seemed to get in forums. I love mine and the neck is fantastic. It's become a regular gigging ax for quite a while now. Love what you have done with yours - did you have trouble getting the mirrored pickguard? I've heard that the Ibanez's had a consistency problem with parts matching up. Drop me a line sometime.....

  • Sorry i don't understand this part 'pop up out of the post that it pivots on the 1 coset'. i'm french my technical english isnt good ^^'

  • ok dont worry, was the edge tremolo you had on your jem any good? or did you have any problems with it?

  • It didn't stay in tune so i change edge pro 2 for original floyd rose who is for me a lot better. :)

  • my message wasn't save because of the link in the message i sent you a pm

  • yeah i got it nice 1 mate, ive just bought a black jem 555 second hand from ebay when it arrived the back of the trem was sticking up in the air the guy said its set up for 9's but it has 10's on it so i tried to level it out by adjusting the springs in the back the claw screws are now screwed up as far as they can go and the base of the trem is still not quite level with the body of the guitar any idea of what i can do to sort it?

  • You have to adjust the spring tension. A good way to to that, is to block the tremolo, tune your strings then unblock the tremolo and adjust the spring to have the tremolo parallel to the table it should be good. I did that and it works :)

  • well nice! how much are those mirror scratch plates? and when you change them i take it you have to set all the pickups up again? please answer back.

  • this is the 555 bk, isn't it?

  • yes it is. i updated it i put a floyd rose original instead of the edge pro II after i've done this vid

  • Nice man. But I like position markers that tell me where I am on the neck, with those flowers it hard.

  • yeah but you have the dot on the side :)

  • hey man i got the same with a mirror scratch plate but i have them flowers enfgraved in on it like the ones off the neck
