I was just curious 555Custom, hoping you could be of some help on Ibanez pickguard replacement. I just ordered a new brushed metal pickguard set from an Ebay guitar parts dealer for my RG350MDX and when I received them in the mail, the holes didn't quite line up with the stock pickguard. I was a little scared at first but I went and drilled new holes in the body and installed it anyways. I was just curious if you ran into any problems such as this when you changed your pickguard out.
Great job! I have a 555 myself and never could understand that negative comments that this guitar always seemed to get in forums. I love mine and the neck is fantastic. It's become a regular gigging ax for quite a while now. Love what you have done with yours - did you have trouble getting the mirrored pickguard? I've heard that the Ibanez's had a consistency problem with parts matching up. Drop me a line sometime.....
yeah i got it nice 1 mate, ive just bought a black jem 555 second hand from ebay when it arrived the back of the trem was sticking up in the air the guy said its set up for 9's but it has 10's on it so i tried to level it out by adjusting the springs in the back the claw screws are now screwed up as far as they can go and the base of the trem is still not quite level with the body of the guitar any idea of what i can do to sort it?
You have to adjust the spring tension. A good way to to that, is to block the tremolo, tune your strings then unblock the tremolo and adjust the spring to have the tremolo parallel to the table it should be good. I did that and it works :)
my friend, where did you get the mirror pickguard, i have a RG and i want to put a mirror pickuard :)

i dont think the mirror scratch boards are that much of a great idea.. wouldnt it get really dirty really fast? finger prints would show easily?
