@BabsyBooboo1 If you were homosexual, however, and you and your significant other were both homeless and asked for their help - they'd tell you to fuck off, you sinnining cunt.
Only a small part of their funding goes towards helping those in need - the rest towards very bigoted and Christian agendas - ie to pay off lawyers to help put anti-gay legislation in place.
the salvation army been great to me there been there for me in hart times and now i go to wallend salvation army they are great i got nothig bad against the salvation army
Do people realise that the collection taken at Christmas by the Salvation Army goes to the band?
Also - never buy a War cry - 10% goes to their divisional headquarters for admin, 30% to pay for the printing of the paper and 60% to pay for the running costs (heating and lighting and ministers salary) of their local Corps (church building).
Salvationist's themselves finacially give very very little and most members do no social work as folk think, but spend their time in music.
My problem is simple; the Salvation army is just another group of discriminating religious fanatics! try google: salvation army homosexuality, and go to the first link (to their official homepage), they make it clear that they side with the FAR-right/Christians who believe homosexuality is an abomination!
Sure they do good! but only to the people they sympathize with; that's dangerously close to fascism!
@thkro20 Not Really, The Salvation Army is A Church, And the home page clearly states that the example of Jesus whose compassionate love was all-embracing, Salvationists seek to understand and sensitively to accept and help those of a homosexual disposition if you read the actual description you would see that
you are absolutely right! they do what their religion tells then is right, which I guess makes them good christians - but they still violate the rights of a minority, when they make it their mission to 'help' the minority be something other than what they are.- still that's an honest opinion; which they sure are entitled to! - but as a human rights activist, I feel it's important to inform the people who donate their money to the salvationists, what they are actually supporting
I am in fact a European (Scandinavian to be more specific), and sure we got fundamentalists here too, but what does that prove? - that the human mind is manipulable no matter where you are from? sure! I agree with you!
@thkro20 well thats not it but hey whatever floats your boat, regardless though you can say what you want, but nothing will come of it. here in the states we wont turn away anyone needing help, wither they are homosexual or not. we are all God's Children
so why is it do damn important to convert people before you help them?...But hey; you are not doing it our of personal evil, plus; every civilisation needs to evolve (including European!), so I guess it's a start. - I know you mean well
P.S. Count Chocula loves you (in a Platonic way; not in a priest + alter boy way)
Don't forget to mention what you do for the homeless. I am in a good situation now, but the Sally Army seen me right, food, bedding. You were there when I nnede help. My eternal thanks from me and my kids
the salvation army is awsome they are alawes doing the good they are doing the most good they help soo much they help the home less the ill and much more ppl keep doing the most god .. god bless you...
I used to work for the Salvation Army. Never knew they had a band. I was one of those poor saps standing outside the door of a store all day long ringing a bell. I quit after a few weeks 'cause of so many problems with them.
It all started with the first day when they didn't tell me what time I was supposed to get off work. They put me out at 10:00 in the morning and I was there until 8:00pm that night.
@AndyHollan that's too bad. i guess stuff happens though. maybe next time you should VOLUNTEER to ring the bell instead. Do it bc you want to help others, not b/c you get paid for it.
excellent reminder that the Salvation Army are out there doing good, in a world that is now so frightening. Well done people that are ready to give their help and play music too!
@rosemarydragon Doing good? You mean taking dnations intended to go to the homeless and needy, and instead using that money to pay lawyers to repeal gay rights laws and help prevent them. They're a bunch of Christian bigots.
Instead, give your money to Doctors Without Borders (Medicines Sans Frontiers.). A real, genuine and secular charity, who use all of their proceeds to fund doctors, and pay for medication and aid for less fortunate countries in need.
salvation army does much good for the needy...I have choosen them as one organization to donate to and support...also with the government...the red cross...they go into areas where either no one else will or can't..but the united nations gets them in there at times..and when even the government pulls out because of dire situation the red cross perseveres and stays against all odds...thank God for people and organizations who try and help the needy.
Excellent. The Brits do bands well. Their form of ceremony and ostentation is supreme. Music soothes the body--always important in motivation when something sacred is at stake. Beautiful rendition of the "lift me up" song. Wow!! "Somewhere Over the Rainbow!" Near and dear to me. Five!!
Thanks for sending this to me. I have a high regard for the Salvation Army specifically, and this music in general. Sounds wonderful. A tip of the hat to all those working the collection buckets this Christmas season, especially my own brother, Al. May God bless you! and keep you warm.
Thank you for sharing this vid! It is brilliant! Once a year, for the last 15 years I have volunteered with the SA and they are the kindest, most caring people you would ever wish to meet! It is not about religion it is about humanity - how many people would stand tirelessly giving teas to survivors of train wreckages and the like? They deserve our love and special attention - so at Christmas remember them with this wonderful CD!
I don't blame God. I blame religion. I don't believe there is such a thing as God. Religion makes people do wicked things they wouldn't ordinarily do. It doesn't make them behave better—it makes them behave worse. You couldn't get people to hack away at the genitals of their newborn children if they didn't think there was a religious obligation to do so. The licenses for genocide, slavery, racism, are all right there in the holy text.
are you crazy? did you hit your head? you send me this really cool vid and respond with that !! cursing and name calling ? baby killer? what planet are you writing from...

A lovely opportunity to explain the work of Salvation Army Bands and very well made. The music sounds lovelyand we will definately be getting a copy. It was a lovely surprise at 45 seconds to see my son aged 5 then. Thank you.
Is there any chance this video can be made available so that it can be forwarded via facebook? I've tried but it says it's no longer available. Thanks.
It sounds fantastic, but is it the ISB, or is it a band that was just put together to make the recording? I didn't see it stated anywhere- just says The Salvation Army. Whichever, I'm sure it will be a blessing to many.

It's the ISB for sure although just some of the band in the video.
