I love to hear the Russian Army Choir! They don't sing like American "stuffed shirt" choirs. These guys sound like they are genuinely having fun! I like the way the go from light to dramatic!
Sleepy Sleepers (aka Leningrad Cowboys) is a pop/punk band from mid 70's, who ridiculed everything, including Finland's relations with Soviet Union. I remember 1993 when they and Red Army Choir had this huge concert on the central square of Helsinki. Wasn't there with some 100 000 others, but saw it live on TV. It was weird. Cold war was only few years behind and Finland had succumbed in severe economic depression. But people sung and dance. Someone waved huge USSR flag. Party time.
@MEGAROM999 My take is that the band is sort of a parody about some USA rock bands. In the 60's almos all american bands had that "Elvis-type" hairdo, with stiff hair.
This brings back some memories. On our last night leave in the army someone chose this tune from the jukebox. Never again will i experience a moment like that, 30-40 soldiers about to become "reserves" instead of active duty conscripts singing this song from the top of their lungs (the pub security guards wisely decided to let us sing uninterrupted ;)
@unamonu Ehali na troyke s bubencami A vdali melkali ogonki Eh, kogda by mne teper' za vami Dushu by razveyat' ot toski Chorus: Dorogoy dlinnoyu Pogodoy lunnoyu Da s pesney toy Chto vdal letit zvenya I s toy starinnoyu Da s semistrunnoyu Chto po nocham Tak muchila menya Da, vyhodit, peli my zadarom Ponaprasnu noch za nochyu jgli Esli my pokonchili so starym Tak i nochi eti otoshli Chorus V dal rodnuyu novymi putyami Nam otnyne ehat'sujdeno Ehali na troyke s bubencami Da teper' proehali davno

Communism = benefit for working class and hell for the rich, most propably impossible to implement in it's purest form for people since people are greedy. If it would be perfect however, it would be the perfectly equal form of government.
Noo, how can you say that the poor people aren't working? You elitist bastard. In that system everyone would work equal amounts and earn equally, what is NOT equal about that? Most rich people have born rich, so being rich has nothing to do with hard work, geesh.
And how do you propose we pay doctors who go to eight years of college to practice medicine, the same as we pay some useless burger-flipper at McDonalds? Your system can never work, because initiative can NOT be punished, and uselessness can NOT be rewarded.
Most rich people work hard all their lives to earn their wealth. It is a small minority that inherits their wealth.
That is why the change can not me immediate. Of course they won't be punished for the work they do, but for keeping it all to themselves when most of the worlds population is starving and living in so badly made towns. It is just a small minority of the rich people that share their wealth, and even smaller minority of those have inherited their riches. That would be justice.
Also doctors make alot money only in US where they have the worst and the most commercial health-care system.
(other post continued) In Finland we have propably the best health-care system in the world and the doctors are normal people. Our government pays the whole health-care system including the doctors, and that is how it should be.

Gosh, you don't even know what you're talking about. Here even the poor are allowed to live. The doctors are not terrible. Our government has never cut the health-care fundings, and only will if we get to the american way of economy where the government has lend so much money out that it makes the system fall, and even on that point, it would be the last thing to cut off. Doctors here are actually fabulous. And if they like money more than helping people, they can always move outta here.
And no, our government does not tell the doctors what to do, they only fund them. Gosh. Would you actually read something before telling your lies? I really recommend you to read some Karl Marx before you tell me anything about the communist way of government. Marxism =/= Leninism
@AlexRGravlin Alex, no over here it's the health care insureres who decide that the insured goes to the hospital when they're ill.... that's why the first words that anyone in america will hear come out of a doctors mouth are " what kind of insurance do you have?" and this means health insurance
Yes, but in America, you're free to choose what health insurer is covering you. Insurance companies are private businesses, so they are forced to be competitive to keep your business. If one is not giving you the service you wanted, you're free to find another.
