  • Wait... Fuck they did forget one I think. Anyone see Gau?

  • @Ragnarok649 To the left of Mog. He's glowing.

  • @NessAndLucied Oh, i though that was Strago, didn't realize that he was right beside Relm.

  • Love the image, has all over the characters in it. Never realsed how short the first old man was (forgive me he's like the only who's name i've forgotten. )

  • Final Fantasy six! YEEESSS!

  • Makes me think of Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars

  • This seems very 'inspired' in Bach's Toccata and Fugue.

  • agh! so many comments! ...can you tell me a link for that awesome .jpg background for this song? Great list.

  • awesome choice for number one dude. though im surprized that you didn't have omen by xenogears on the list at all, that one is one of my favorites of all time. in fact i think between all the ff's and xenogears and chrono trigger you have the best game music IMO.

  • @shadybrain3424 I don't count Omen as a battle theme. Although it would be very high up if it was.

  • @NessAndLucied yeah i suppose your right, i would say do a 50 list of just the best game songs, but good god that would probably take years to figure out. oh, and he who bares fangs at god was a good one from xenogears too :D

  • @NessAndLucied Someone that thinks like I do, excellent selection for #1.

  • The pipe organ in the first 3 mins is too...much...WIN!!!

  • 3:20 onwards FTW!!!!!111 :D :D :D

  • this song got ME DANCING MAD

  • 4:00 its the real deal

  • nice artwork!

  • i agree this is nice

  • I have to say that this song kicks every ff boss theme 1000 times.

Sorry, but one winged angel does not even come close to dancing mad.

  • The first half of this part of dancing mad is classical music from the gothic era 1600's or 1700's

It sounds alot like church music.

In fact i showed my mom and she thought it was bach.

  • @piromaniac9999 Same thing here, my father - he likes classical music - mentionned Bach as an obvious influence on the composer of this piece. And if i remember correctly, Nobuo Uematsu is indeed a "fan" of J-S. Bach.

  • Nice list, it is always different for everyone. still, I preffer One Winged Angel as my favourite.

  • @infernoxd007 nah, that song's way too overused, it was a goodun' but way too overated.

  • Well, overated is a big word, but it has it's charm.

  • i see it in way too many videos, ff7 overall is over-rated but man when One Winged Angel comes on, it's like Let the Bodies hit the floor coming on, i just stop watching video all together when that happends, heard it over 9000 times.

  • oh, i like the image!!! ff6 rules!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Alright, so for about four minutes I'm thinking "Alright, this is nice, but it doesn't sound very battle-y." And then at that four minute point it "DANG."

    Very good song ^^

  • This is the 3rd and 4th parts of Dancing mad.

  • Strago is in there. He's next to Relm on the right of her. She's got her arm on his back. Short old guy...

  • I dunno if it's just me but I don't see Strago anywhere in that pic!

  • Victory for Lord Kefka! Uwee hee hee!

  • That has to be the most beautfill piece of art I've ever saw on games. It shows space and time.. It looks almost romantsized somewhat.. Oil on the canvas indeed :)

I always thought Kefka's garb was of French Nobality though, I never knew he was a clown. Interesting.

  • Kefka's clothing are reminiscent of french nobility to a degree actually. Men in that era would wear makeup because it made them much more elegant looking when worn with powdered wigs. They would also wear the same garrish clothing Kefka wears on certain occasions. All in all though, Kefkas clothes design is based mainly on a court jester, not a clown.

  • @lightdiviner

It is very possible he is wearing led face powder.

The very same powder that napoleon himself possibly died of,or that is at least the rumor.

Yes it is very popular during 1600 and 1700s.

I don-t think the americans used it.

I think the english french and not sure who else used the led powder.

  • Epic. Try to listen to the ''The black mages'' version , it kick ass :)

  • Most epic part is where the final form starts at 3:50

  • This is one of my favorite games of all time....but looking at this art makes me realize how silly it would look in real life :P. You've got a ninja, bigfoot, and a motley crew of fighters all attacking an insane clown. Only Square could make that awesome :P

  • @HadeanAgent Think of it as the World itself against Pure evil... then it will be just fine.

  • Great song, but the burning question here is...where did you gind that art?!?!?! It screams awesomeness =]. Nice list too man good job =]

  • deviantart.

Type in "everybody vs kefka" into the search bar at deviantart and you'll find it.

  • if any of u have no idea how to get shadow in the world being destroyed thing just in the floting contient beat the boss go towards the ship say wait then do it again it should say wait for shadow then wait again after u choose tat then shadow comes u escape then check the northeast contint just south of the triangle island n enter the cave look around for shadow now *w*

  • you dont find shadow in the triangle island you found gogo to found shadow you have to fight him in the coloseum with a special but i dont remember where to get it anyway when you have that (item) shadow pop up when you defeated him just talk to him and he will join you

  • Only on the Advance version. If you somehow got your hands on the SNES game you're out of luck.

  • You can find Gogo in Triangle Island (inside a monster) and for Shadow you have to wait for Shadow on the Floating Continent as it's being destroyed (0:05 on the clock IIRC) and then bet a certain item at the coliseum to fight Shadow. If you win, talk to him and he'll join you..

    THIS WORKS IN ALL VERSIONS.

  • I stand corrected. Apparently Shadow CAN be samed on the SNES version (thank you Youtube and your walkthroughs).

Now if you'll excuse me, I need to contact a few websites....

  • Tier four is easily the best part in my opinion.

  • Excellent choice. The first part and canons sounds like Bach

  • You could not have picked a finer choice for #1.

Kefka owns all, and Dancing Mad is THE best piece of music in any video game EVER.

  • @KarmaXprod "EVER"

    I'd have to say history.

  • Personally, I preferred The Black Mage's Cover, But it was a great song either way

  • That was kickass. Especially near the end. The guitar solo was AWESOME.

  • Dancing Mad is a neat theme, even though its far from my top battle themes (including dungeons), nice list overall though hehe. I'm done with battle themes so on to dungoen fun lol.

  • You're more a fan of FFMQ's Boss Theme, obviously. (Thanks for the MP3, as well) I've seen your list, it's pretty good, too. I prefer your list to many other's.

  • Hehe thanks.

  • Damnit. I personally just don't like this song. It just doesn't sound like a battle to me. The part when you actually fight kefka is close to actually good but not number 1 worthy. I must say though I was very impressed with your other choices battle music. Good list overall.

  • Thank you. :) I knew some people were going to not like me for this choice.

#2 is essentially on the same level as this song, if you like that song better. Check it out!

  • I like awakening a lot more. The reason why you give this song the edge, the drop in song intensity in awakening, I personally don't think that brings it down that much. I think that drop is necessary to bring the energy of the battle down momentarily prior to bringing it back up. Xenogears in my book has the best soundtrack of the ps1 games, and it's my favorite rpg ever. I'd admit to being biased toward it if it wasn't for the fact that I feel that the tales games have much better battle music

  • The intensity didn't last long enough, IMO. The edge is just a tiny edge, though.

  • Also, I was originally going to post Awakening as my #1, but I listened to it so much that it kind of lost the effect, if you know what I mean.

  • Yeah I understand. Like I said I like the overall list. Good choices all around.

  • Congrats on finishing this project! This song brings back memories for me. I actually have this games original soundtrack and I always liked this song because it sounds so unbattle-like, yet it is still a battle theme. I gotta beat this game one of these days. World of Ruin confuses me. :-\

  • The third tier doesn't sound like a battle, but the fourth is a a perfect reflection of the madness of Kefka. The buildup was magnificent, taking the opening theme and using that as momentum for the final battle as Kefka descends Deus Ex Machina style.

I wish he was tougher, though. You should get around to finishing it. IMO, Final Fantasy VI has the best final dungeon out of every FF. And the best final boss. And villain :D

  • They needed to make Kefka much tougher than he was in the game. Was too easy :(

  • Yeah. Especially with Genji Glove + Master Scroll. One turn KO.

  • I don't know about you, but I always thought that combo was a bit overrated. I mean, the master scroll does 4 hits at .5 damage x2 with genji glove (assuming you get 2 Atma weapons. This turns into 8 hits that are at half power, so in order to 1hit KO him, you would need to do ~20000 damage a hit (assuming there's no cap). So to do that much damage, you would need to be way overleveled, at which point you could easily kill him, making the 1 hit KO on Kefka thing useless (it's still cool though).

  • The .5 damage multiplier is removed when you equip certain weapons. For example, the Valiant Knife and the Ultima Weapon.

Kefka only has around 65,000 HP, and if you're doing 8500 damage per hit (which is possible at only a little higher levels, especially when Locke is really low on HP with the Valiant Knife) you'd be doing 68,000 damage.

  • @NessAndLucied yeah, and if Locke has Valiant knife, Kefka's basically fucked using Fallen One on everyone. Then Locke has 1 HP which rocks

  • Nice count down. I would've put another MOTHER song or two in there, but still good count down. Chrono Trigger is what got me back into Square Enix and its nice to see it represented. Makes me want to try out some FF games. Never had before. Thanks to you I'm willing to bet you'll see me playing the new FF on the 360 this summer.

  • Yeah. My favorite MOTHER songs are not the battle themes, but character themes and area themes. Like Duster's Theme, or 16 Melodies. Chrono Trigger is awesome, and is in the same situation as MOTHER. Time Circuits is awesome. I'm glad I influenced you into trying out some FF games! :)

  • Sorry mate, but I had to give you 3/5 star because I thought it didn't really build up to any thing good

  • XP
