I have some I bought from a conventional store, I've had them for three weeks and they are no where near as jelly like or as appetizing as the ones you have..? they are flat and round like hocky pucks...should I just keep letting them ripen or will they ever ripen? @victorbigdipper Victor, I would not be surprised if yours are taking some time. Commercial fruits always take longer to ripen. Remember, I know my farmer and he picks the persimmons when they have a lot of color on the tree so on average they're ripe in a week, if that.
Just ate a persimmon for the first time ever. Great stuff.

mine are taking soooo long to ripen...or I am impatient...the asian markets here really have a ton of these...

The benefit of knowing a grower personally is that you can have the fruits picked when they are actually ready :)
