  • Just ate a persimmon for the first time ever. Great stuff.

  • thanks for the video! how old are your persimmons? I have some I bought from a conventional store, I've had them for three weeks and they are no where near as jelly like or as appetizing as the ones you have..? they are flat and round like hocky pucks...should I just keep letting them ripen or will they ever ripen? Thank you :)

  • I'm moving to Florida this Sunday. You bet that's gonna be the first thing im gonna try. :-)

  • @PinkPlaidLove That's fantastic! Enjoy them while the season's in!

  • u can eat the skin!!?? i didnt kno im in fl too

  • @bigpun2k6 You betcha!

  • bought my first persimmon.....mine was so under ripe after watching this video...will buy more and let ripen more..........

  • @7llazaren Live, learn, and enjoy! :D

  • mine are taking soooo long to ripen...or I am impatient...the asian markets here really have a ton of these...

  • @victorbigdipper Victor, I would not be surprised if yours are taking some time. Commercial fruits always take longer to ripen. Remember, I know my farmer and he picks the persimmons when they have a lot of color on the tree so on average they're ripe in a week, if that.

  • @SamsRawTruth oh i see as im reading these...i will just have to wait...! :)

  • @tammyfana Yes! You'll have to wait around :/

The benefit of knowing a grower personally is that you can have the fruits picked when they are actually ready :)
