Where was the government "job Protection" when we destroyed the private sector jobs that provided the tax base to fund the public schools over the past twenty or thirty years . NAFTA, CAFTA and other one sided trade deal negociated by our government destroyed the manufacturing base, now their is no money to fund education and gov. programs. If we had stopped the destruction then, we would not be suffering now. American, seem to be asleep until the pain lands on their doorstep. Too late now.
