@uploader.. Yep i hear ya, Its ashame when you hear all the talk of Apple/Mac's so called 'starting it all' in terms of graphics and animation. Fact is The Amiga's were Years ahead of any mac. In fact if you think about it, the older C64's were even far ahead of macs. Especially when you consider the C64 had a installableGUI mouse driven interface in the form of GEOS (which later became Windows) The history of home computers is mostly a lie. in favor of mac by people that dont have a clue.
The video was "insert-edited" onto a SONY UMATIC 5850 recorder, frame at a time. That's right, manually using the dial editor and controlling the tape deck. Just before CES 1996 I believe.
Nice! I remember there was a looping demo of videoscape 3d they showed on a commodore monitor in the window of the local computer shop, 24h.. i wonder if this was it
Hi Chuck, I got this video from an Aegis employee back in 1987 so I'm pretty sure this was the original music. Excuse the poor quality. The VHS collected dust for 20 years. I might get around to cleaning up the audio a bit (yes, I know it sounds horrible) and re-posting it.
I have a few other early Allen Hastings/Videoscape demos from that tape that I plan on posting soon including one that shows the bombing of Commodore's chief rival of that time.
Hey, robewil I can help with cleaning the audio. The sound is from Alan Parson's Project "Eye In The Sky" (1982) I own the record on vinyl, want me to send the track to you? It sounds really clean on my disk :D Way better than a CD.
I have always loved this animation! The version I remember seeing, though, had Beethoven's 9th symphony from "A Clockwork Orange" (the electronic version).
I wish I could find a higher quality version of it somewhere....
Cool Video. I had Videscape 3D on the Amiga and this sure brings back memories. It came with pretty much all the objects used in this clip. Other than the interior scene, I think.. can't seem to remember that.

The original music was Copeland's "Fanfare for the Common Man" but Allen didn't like it and changed it to the music you hear in this clip.

Lovely :) Thanks for uploading! And no need to clean up the audio, music is "MammaGamma" from the Alan Parsons Project album Eye in the Sky.
