To all the Music Artists and fans of every form and style around the world, I'm sure Elvis would say GOD BLESS YOU ALL. To the critics, I say, He still makes more money and brings more joy to more people every year, 35 years after his passing, then I'm sure you will in your lifetime. To Elvis, I say Thanks, I remember you everytime I pick up a guitar.
Elvis was so Much more than an amazing voice, he revolutionized the Stage show, He has inspired generations of Artists in every musical form even today from Country, Rock, Blues, Metal and Country. His contributions to the the Music industry are as important as those of Les Paul, Leo Fender, Chet Atkins, RCA, Arista, California, Nashville and Chicago. No one has ever had such an influence on the modern stage shows. Everyone who loves music owes a debt to this man and his contributions.
@roquefort88888 What sense does it make to search for Elvis videos on youtube only to post insulting comments on them? It's about the most stupid thing I can think of.
I was very young when Elvis died... however, I know I saw a concert on television -- which must have been sometime in the last year of his life. Does anyone know if this concert aired without the Vernon Presley footage prior to the death of Elvis? If not, does anyone know which was the last concert that aired prior to Elvis's death. Thanks!
After watching this special, I know why Elvis is King...Loved by so many...he was untouchable yet down to earth..a style all his own..There will never be another Elvis.
@gowestward1 you are right....so few people realize that. In his last years, he was most sobered up by the end of the tour. Pittsburgh (Dec 1976) is another such example.
Oh, I did periprerigord, I did check out everything on Elvis, since I'm a big fan. The dummy in the coffin, the helicopter above the Graceland in the night before he died, phone calls, pool house photo, Jon Cotner , the movie "Home alone", FBI connections, Jesse...There is really so many things that should not be taken by granted , and I even told my husband the other day "you know Elvis lives!" But.. I don't know...
@zujo1 SO right about the coffin. I''ve been a fan of Elvis since I can remember. I was 7 when he died. As I've gotten older & saw clues, etc. I've always felt he could be alive.
Like he wasn't a REAL Human Being. People die at 42 and sadly, much younger. How old would he have to be for people to think "Well, he's "PROBABLY" gone NOW. People Die, that's just the way it is. He's with Everyone in Heaven. His Mother, Father, His brother Jesse and everyone else. He's Probably stunned his Birthday and Death is such an enormous gathering. Even after 34 years. I am so blessed that at 13 I saw him at the Chicago Stadium May 1977. RIP Elvis XOXO You deserve happiness~
personally, tour Elvis is my fav. era. the shows, the suits, the whole thing, and of course the absolute wonderful voice the man had..right down to the end.it is my opinion that he only got better as time went on.the deep, powerful, and sometimes almost operatic vocal style from 72-77 was golden.he was clearly in the worst shape-physically,mentally,and emotionally at this point-and still he gave every part of his heart and soul for his fans.THAT is what makes Elvis timeless!
Never missed a beat with his beautiful voice! No one sounds like Elvis. Why didn't a GOOD doctor ever be contacted by his family and friends? He could have been helped if he had the right medical care! I sure miss you, Elvis - hope to be friends in heaven.
With all my heart and respect to Elvis he was the second best entertainer of all times... second to the One And Only Francis Albert Sinatra the all time greatest.
@PorscheMaster911 The wonderful Mr. Sinatra spoke to this issued upon Elvis' passing. At first he did not like the fact that Elvis had upstaged him. He later got to know him personally and became close friends with him. Here is a quote from him: "I'm just a singer. Elvis was the embodiment of the whole American culture."
@toysrusbaby you are the biggest douche on this fuckin page. Your just jealous of this man puttin his soul out for everyone even when he was dying..fuck off.
@redsoxrooter100 That is what makes him the king..He went his own ways which has been followed for over 50 years some tried go their ways..which ended their career But Elvis wasnt a follower he was a LEADER!! the rest...are just followers..
Elvis was the KING and gave his very best to the end!!!He knew he wasn't in good health but didn't want to let his fans down......He was THAT kind of man and for THAT,he WAS the KING....You will always be alive for US Elvis :-)
@toysrusbaby 'Adios' actually means 'So long' like 'adieu' does in French. It doesn't mean a definitive 'goodbye' but a temporary one like 'goodbye for now - see you later' so maybe you're correct. He DID fake his death. However, his father does seem genuinely upset and I'm sure he wouldn't be able to act so well if he knew his son was really alive. Elvis was a God-fearing man and very genuine so I doubt that he'd want to propagate such a lie either. No, I'm afraid, he did die!
@periperigord "Adios"- actually means "adio" in Italian, something like "aside God", or "with God". It is something you say as a farewell, never to be seen again, in couple of languages in Europe.
@periperigord In my, Croatian language, we say to someone who we don't expect to see ever more, OR for a very long period of time, something that can be translated in English "go with God", which is very similar to "adios". What did Elvis mean when he said "adios",...I hope with all my heart it wasn't his definitive goodbye. But your words make sense, I'm afraid, he did die.
@zujo1 Firstly, may I congratulate you on your excellent English! Secondly, since my first posting about Elvis's presumed death I have done quite a bit of research and am now convinced that he didn't die! There's so much more evidence that he actually didn't die than there is for his 'death'. For starters check out Jon Costner on Youtube.
I have a very short span life that states I have not read every comment, just reading them i'd be around 636yrs, rougnly, what i do know is this man was sincere, maybe not the way he wanted it to be, this man had only radio when started, and took the world with radio, tv became household in the early 70's, by this time Elvis was a person you needed to see, without tv, stars today get their success though tv...in 1 form or another.
@toysrusbaby Wishful thinking, I hate to say it but Elvis Presley is dead. There have been countless Elvis books published and countless accounts of his death contained within, you can't disagree. You can't.
@gummybear1944 i hate to burst your bubble but he was on drugs...mainly pain killers which leads to constipation which leads to bloating...hes not fat hes bloated....but he did pull off a great concert and was actually in much better shape not long after this concert
@brooks5510 Yeah, so? The guy lasted 23 years in show business at a time when it ate its young like Cronus. He went out there in the bright lights and his greatest gift, his superhumanly emotional voice, never failed. What horrible, talentelss, lazy, disgusting "entertainers" of today would even get off their ass in their undeserved wealth to put on a show for people in in the middle of nowhere...in the 70's no less... where there wasn't some bullshit glamour and access to media 24/7?
@YARBLES1969 man i dont disagree with anything you said all i was saying was that yes he was on drugs in this video....as far as his entertaining and talent i think hes the greatest of all time and im to young to have gotten to see him live or be around at the height of his popularity...so i think the fact that i admire him as much as i do says a whole lot....but as a fan we cant bury our heads in the sand like gummybear did and think elvis was perfect bc we all have our problems
@brooks5510 No kidding he wasnt perfect. But why emntion what most ppl know. How would you like if you went to a party and you met ppl and they all liked you and someone who knew you said, "by the way...he picked his nose in 6th grade and everyone made fun of him for it". Does it matter. And Im glad youre young and appreciate Elvis. Good taste and also to see a real talent and see where it all came from.
