I had to decide either a $295.99 graphic card(GeForce GTX 260) to play BF3 for the 64 player conquest, or a PS3/Xbox for Christmas, I picked the graphic card. Im in the process of changing my Windows XP into Windows 7 64bit and I am frikn excited to play the game!
@AwakenedMachinist you didnt have to spend that much mate, a gtx460 runs the game on high/ultra at about 40-60fps easy. im only running a gts450 that cost me like 100quid. runs bf3 on high/medium settings easy 60+fps constantly. bf3 is not as demanding as it seems. unless u want to run the game on ultra++ then by all means :P

@AwakenedMachinist i doubt it very much mate, the gtx260 is not exactly a great card. its worse then a gtx460 and that card cannot run battlefield on ultra smooth. running a game and being able to play a game are to diffrent things. im sure your card can "run" the game on ultra, but at playable fps? i doubt it.
@w1ckaman89 Played 10 games on my first day(All 64 player matches), runs smoothly and beautifully sometimes but the lag spikes sorta ruined everything. :(

I play PC and Consoles and I love em' both. I play consoles a lot cuz most of my friends have consoles. PC gaming is superior in terms of graphical performance and multiplayer, but they are both great.

@im100percentg So use a 360 controller with your PC. Next gen consoles will most likely have a $350 graphics chip in them.... PC's will be able to get $500 ones that do more.. they can also fit up to 4 of them.. you can also get used ones from the gen before on Ebay for cheap and put a few in.. way more power.

5 of PC games have the high end cards though.. It will knock out mainstream gamers for a year or 2 until there are $200 cards as powerful.

it will most likely have a 670 and that's a 580 plus some gpgpu features needed for next gen consoles on a smaller chip. The PS3 used a $350 gpu..
From what NVidia said at the Asia conference it sounds like the next consoles will have a pcie connector to upgrade them. ps4 with 10 teraflops by 2019. So 100 x ps3. That will be a $500 8 teraflop addon in 2019.. total $1200 in 2 parts.
@Kunkussionboi Doubtful. Consoles can't hold all that house power in a little box. Good gaming PCs require pretty big mid tower cases and hefty power supplies, One thing great about consoles is that devs optimize the shit out of the old hardware. PC runs on pure horse power with not a whole lot of optimzation, but whatever, shit still looks great lol.

@Kunkussionboi , u dont nessesarily HAVE TO keep on upgrading. a really decent build can last you 2-4 yrs. mine did. i didn't have to upgrade shit till about 3 yrs into my pc cycle. i was able to run games on high settings for all that time. its more about whether u really WANT TO upgrade. its always nice to have the option though.regardless of whether u upgrade a component or not, the pc build is going to be superior to the console
@Kunkussionboi , as far as hacking n cheating goes.... there is alot more policing of that in most pc game servers. there is more unattended hacking and cheating going on on consoles. thats mainly cuz the pc community is comprised mainly of mature adults opposed to kids

@w1ckaman89 I meant cheap as in the games. When Hard8 gave the example on both Mass Effects for $10. If you were to get both for XBOX it would cost $40. Obviously the computer/laptop is expensive but in the long run its worth it and the games you get add up to a saving.

I had to decide either a $295.99 graphic card(GeForce GTX 260) to play BF3 for the 64 player conquest, or a PS3/Xbox for Christmas, I picked the graphic card. Im in the process of changing my Windows XP into Windows 7 64bit and I am frikn excited to play the game!

@AwakenedMachinist you didnt have to spend that much mate, a gtx460 runs the game on high/ultra at about 40-60fps easy. im only running a gts450 that cost me like 100quid. runs bf3 on high/medium settings easy 60+fps constantly. bf3 is not as demanding as it seems. unless u want to run the game on ultra++ then by all means :P

@AwakenedMachinist i doubt it very much mate, the gtx260 is not exactly a great card. its worse then a gtx460 and that card cannot run battlefield on ultra smooth. running a game and being able to play a game are to diffrent things. im sure your card can "run" the game on ultra, but at playable fps? i doubt it.

@therealhard8times The PS4 will be better then PC in MANY type of ways. We will be able to use controllers and the graphics/abilities will be upgraded to the point where it can't go any further then it can.
If you think I'm wrong...what else could a PC offer other then graphics when a new updated console came out? I'm a PC gamer but I know the PS4/XBOX(whatever) will match up to PC.

@im100percentg So use a 360 controller with your PC. Next gen consoles will most likely have a $350 graphics chip in them.... PC's will be able to get $500 ones that do more.. they can also fit up to 4 of them.. you can also get used ones from the gen before on Ebay for cheap and put a few in.. way more power.

5 of PC games have the high end cards though.. It will knock out mainstream gamers for a year or 2 until there are $200 cards as powerful.

it will most likely have a 670 and that's a 580 plus some gpgpu features needed for next gen consoles on a smaller chip. The PS3 used a $350 gpu..
From what NVidia said at the Asia conference it sounds like the next consoles will have a pcie connector to upgrade them. ps4 with 10 teraflops by 2019. So 100 x ps3. That will be a $500 8 teraflop addon in 2019.. total $1200 in 2 parts.

Good gaming PCs require pretty big mid tower cases and hefty power supplies, One thing great about consoles is that devs optimize the shit out of the old hardware. @Kunkussionboi , u dont nessesarily HAVE TO keep on upgrading. a really decent build can last you 2-4 yrs. mine did. i didn't have to upgrade shit till about 3 yrs into my pc cycle. i was able to run games on high settings for all that time. its more about whether u really WANT TO upgrade. its always nice to have the option though.regardless of whether u upgrade a component or not, the pc build is going to be superior to the console
