the "tube thing" is called a talk box. to explain how it works in a nutshell, by blowing into the tube and pressing the attached foot pedals, it basically allows your guitar to have that wah-wah sound when played, as dave has demonstrated. probably the foos most underrated song... yet it's one of my personal favourites :)
@GuilhermeTB1 It's a talk box. The tube is run to a stompbox pedal with a powerful built in speaker; When it's on the the guitar comes through the speaker and through the tube and you just move your mouth to make it sound different.
