Madonna certainly did it first and was unique, but she had her influences too. Singers like Debbie Harry (Blondie), Grace Jones, Nina Hagen, Siouxsie (and the Banshees) and the cross dressing iconic actress Marlene Dietrich certainly were originals in their eras. But Madonna took it further, pushed the envelope, and Lady Gaga is doing that too, in her own way. All are great artists.

Listen to the lyrics of this song and Paradise and you would have to be completely oblivious to the biblical negativity within both. This was a collaboration of Madonna AND Steven Klein. It was used for a piece of art called X-Static Process. Which is a title of a Madonna track from her American Life album. I would say they BOTH did a creative collaboration. Equally. Plus, her reciting from the Book of Revelations was done in her Girlie Show Tour in 1993 called The Beast Within. As for Gagas "Alejandro. It was all Kleins work and ideas. That video sucks. Sorry Gag!
