To everyone saying that dance is just a bunch a tricks blaabababa--think. This is a TV show, amd you only get 30 sec per solo. The judges want to see this, and obviously this is a good dance because she won. This is her style, she calls it "acro contemporary".

Okay, a bunch of gymnast moves does not qualify as dancing. I know a 10 yr old who can do all of that, all you have to do is be flexible. Real dance is about expression and emotion. Plus, she screwed up her turns.

She's really great! For those who don't know, she's performing a dance style called acro. It's really popular in national dancing competitions. Taking acro classes can prepare you for a future in working for companies like Cirque du Soleil. Just because you've never seen it before doesn't mean that it's not dancing!

The tricks are great, she is clearly flexible and strong. But I felt nothing from this 'dance' - it doesn't even really feel like dancing, it just felt like tricking. That doesn't diminish her talent - it's just, dancing seems to be about showing tricks and flexibility more than showing emotion and having beautiful links and transitions these days. Transitions are SO important. I cant count how many vids i've seen of AMAZING tricks with NOTHING to link them together or any 'feeling'. Its sad.

From other clips I've watched, she really is amazing at dancing. I just felt that this particular audition consisted more of tricks and gymnastics rather than dance. Regardless, I think she was absolutely gorgeous.

As I previously stated, I've look at other clips of her dancing that didn't involve too many tricks, and I thought she was wonderful. I think she's gorgeous and she's an awesome gymnast as well. I just didn't appreciate her AUDITION being filled with gymnastic tumbling combined with dance moves

Most contemporary jazz dancers or dancers that made up their own fusion dance, rely too much on tricks or gymnastic tumbling and pass it off as dance technique. And what's worse is that the viewers that aren't dancers and don't know anything about dance buy into it, and believe that these so called 'tricks' is actual dance technique when its not. Dont' get me wrong though.

@jaygoh it's a genre called acro dance. There are supposed to be a lot of acrobatics throughout the routine; that's what makes the style. There was a ton of dancing involved in this as well as character presence. That's why the judges chose her and probably why she won the competition.
