I dont think so that he dont get it because he was chinese, (by the way his mother was German/Chinese;). With his honored movies before he was burned in character. Privat he was a smart gentle guy but in his movies he was always the wild rebel and somtimes looked a little bit mad in fights. Carradine embodied the smoth nonviolent Shaolin much better. For me his moves looked a little Jimmy Woo like.
Our good friend, Mr. Rick Graham, once shared with me, we had gotten together and had lunch onetime., a fantastic story of his meeting David Carradine at the time when Rick was going to chiropractic school. David was able to see Rick do a demo of San Soo and absolutely blew Mr. Carradine's mind. Ask Rick about the details as it was quite amusing.
Hi Master Bill, thanks for putting this up, in the long run watching the Kung Fu series as well as the water margin as a kid in the seventies is what first made me want to be a kung fu man, so i searched many schools for what i considereded to be real kung fu which eventually led me through the doors of the KFSS studio of the only full Master in Europe which turned out to be only 40 minutes from my house (how about that) so it was with great sadness that i heard the news of David Carridine.
Thanks for that tribute. It's nice to build people up vs. tear them down. We were all inspired by the Kung Fu series, in my case reruns of the series.
Hi, I trained with Master Hulsey and I too agree, it was a very cool thing to say an inspiring word on behalf of David Carradine.
I do believe DC KF series influenced me as well. Bill, if your viewing comments, I just want to say.. you also have been a great influence in my love for KF
