I absolutely love this video. I've been watching it and the demo over and over when I was my hair. I am finally subscribing to you on youtube, after having been a part of your other site for a while. Love your input and your heart!
I love the your tag name. It's very befitting. You have a very natural earthy beauty.. You go girl. YOu motivate me to grow out my natural hair. It seems like it stopped growing
@NappyHalo Hi hun, thanks so much for the kind words. Unless you have a medical condition your hair always grows from the root. You need to focus on retaining the growth you have by nurturing the ends of your hair so that you don't experience breakage and keep the hair on your head. Hope that helps and all the best on your journey. ~ ini
there's a warning on all the castile soap bottle to keep out of eyes. Have you every had any issues with your eyes burning using this product as a shampoo? thanks
@kiyahp12 yes, just yesterday actually...but it's no different that any other shampoo that gets in your eyes from my experience. it's not unbearable, just mildly uncomfortable but quickly rinsed out. hope that helps.
you are very sweet. you speak clearly and I love how you explain the things you do. keep it going...You will do great! BTW I'm a licensed hairstylist for 18 yrs and you can always learn something from someone! (and that would be from you!)
I bought the peppermint Castille soap and have found it very drying. Is it mousturizing for you? Also, as my hair is getting longer, I feel like my scalp is not getting clean as it is so thick, even after 2/3 washes. any advice?
My hair's gotten lighter over the years. Even when I cut it, it grows back with a purplish tint, which I have to accept, but i'd rather have my jet black hair back. One day, I'ma try henna and indigo, see how that goes. Stay blessed, sis!
Yeah you did look fly. I do that too you come back from work and look so cute you want to see yourself. Quick question. Why honey. What about olive oil??
Wow I was soo off. Must have been great growing up there eh? It's funny how many people that I'm subscribed to that are from the islands. Idk maybe it's a sign, that I need to go to an island. lol
Hi,Love the videos I have a FEW questions :) How often do you use the soap? Do you know if there different types of shea butter? The kind I have is solid and must be warmed or melted, the container says its unrefined. I got my last relaxer in fall 06, I have a very interesting hairstory, anyway, It has all these different textures some of my hair is coily and some of it is kinda straight. Do you flat iron your hair? thanks
I use castile soap every time I wash/detangle...which is every month to 6 weeksish. I'm not sure about different types of shea.b ... some are refined and others are not. That's all I know. I do not flat iron, most I do is blow dry maybe once or twice a year. The heat just won't do for me.
What a great and informative video! Thank you! This is the 1st one I've found of you so, I'm curious to see what your hair looks like down..I'm off to watch more!
This is my first time viewing your channel and I have to say I am hooked. I find you highly amussing and your personality simply puts a smile to many faces I'd imagine....God bless and keep up the good work of spreading natural hair care. I have been natural since 06 and still have alot to learn. My hair is long but I'm not so sure of how healthy it is...I tend to shed alot almost like a sheep dog so that makes me a bit concerned. I will keep tuning in.
Hi ini, your hair is gorgeous. We met a long time ago at a np get together in Orlando once. I used to visit your site often. Was doing a search on google or LHCF and your name popped up. So glad to see you on youtube. You've always had such great tutorials and info. I'll def be trying this wash method. Even though I've been natural for a few years now, I still dont have a good wash detangling system down, w/o being too harsh on my hair.
I've used almost all the different flavors of Dr. Bronner's over the years and I keep coming back to almond. For some reason it just works the best (diluted, of course).
And yeah, I might have been one of those anti-Denman women on NP. :) But I think it's my choice of brush that's wrong...the D3 may just be too harsh for my fine strands.
I look forward to seeing your makeup videos as well...cause a sister needs HELP, lol...
ooh looky here! hey you, long time no read :) ...ok so the aversion is to it breaking fine strands? ...interesting, never heard that and never had that happen to me..maybe my strands are more stocky LOL!!!. i'm becoming a makeup crackhead and need an intervention :help:
great tips, thank you! I see that soap everywhere but didn't know how good it work on hair. Plus they have so many different kinds. Does it make your hair soft?
the different kinds don't matter to me except for scent and some tingle. I would not go as far to say it makes your hair soft...but it doesn't strip your hair of moisture, so it doesn't make it hard. You do have to use a conditioner and moisturizer or you're still gonna have dry hair.
hmmm. honey? I'm going to have to try that. My hair is long too and its starting to be a pain to deal with, styling mostly. Oh and I sooo feel you on the discovering latent patches of conditioner that did not get rinsed out. It is the worst!
i just love how you make things so simple and easy to understand!!!
