The big difference is that Germany was 2 people who were the same were split by external forces against their will.
In Israel the wall protects one group of people from the terrorist acts of another. That wall will only come down when it is safe - as Hamas themselves state, it stops them using suicide bombers! So until Israel is recognised as a legitimate state and allowed to exist in peace - why should they stop protecting themselves with a wall?
The wall is more humane than shooting!

The purpose of the Berlin Wall was not that different.
While one purpose was to stop the 'Brain Drain' of people who were talented leaving to go to the West - it was also created to stop the Soviet run part of Berlin from being infiltrated by spies. Change 'spies' to 'suicide bombers' and it makes as much sense.

All they need to do is use a thermal imager at night on an Apache and shoot every heat source - I imagine after a few months there would be no Gazans left.
The problem Israel has with Gaza is that Hamas has as its charter the destruction of Israel. Israel's population can't sit there and accept being shot at by Hamas - stop the rockets and they will ease restrictions. How fucking hard is that to understand?
