Killing: You most likely one hit everything below you with decent equips, armys of creatures die if you spam your skills.

Mobs in La Tale get their chance to attack and cancel your attack by hitting you. Armys of mobs pose a threat as there is no invincibility after getting hit. Killing in La Tale is more of a challenge than mindless grinding.

Moving - Maple Characters move fluently but slow. There are skills that let you double jumpg or hover, but these are limited to certain classes.

All La Tale characters are able to run and jump high, but it feels akward because the minimal distance you go forward stays the same even if you let go of the button earlier. After falling down and Touching the ground, your character might stop for half a second until he continues to move.

Comparison of La Tale and Maple:

Quests - Doing quests in Maple gets boring fast because many of them are similiar. The main Problem is that the exp and meso reward is to low. But many quests in MS actually have storylines and unlock other quests that follow the story.

Questing in La Tale is more rewarding, but they have less of a storyline. Some can also get repetitive, but they are usually less overhelming than Maple's (999 Mobs per Map to get to the Time Temple Boss).

What's actually cool about Latale, that MapleStory doesn't have:

-Equilibrated classes AND multiple builds/branches, instead of monthly new classes that only follow a '1337' build.

-Monsters actually ARE something. If you mob them, you have to have FINGERS to slay all of them, you actually FEEL rewarded. In maple, you only press 1 or 2 buttons to wipe away a giant mob. SO LOGIC.

-Not gonna say I didn't love maple's sprites, but latale's characters actually have a DECENT head size.

funny part is i have been playing maple story back when it first launched in the USA and when i learned of La Tale i was like hmm maple clone?but as time has gone on i see that both games are rich both in graphics and in game play.guess its really all on the player to choose if one is better than the other.personally i feel that both are good so i choose both(i play both to this day)

Both MS and LT are excellent games, and both have their flaws.

IMO:

LaTale has cooler characters and less spammers/hackers, but less variation and kinda hard to level after a while.

Maplestory has plenty of variation (like clothing) and more options, but too many hackers/spammers and the characters look sorta strange.

Yes, I've played both. To be honest, this LT vs MS fight has no winner, because it's simply peoples' opinions.

I've played both MapleStory and LaTale. Both are REALLY good games, i love them both (I still kinda prefer MS more cause LaTale is so freaking confusing to level up or to job advance...). If you compare them, each have something to makes them real good.

@Vampiric59 Well at that point its sort of what you would want to do, 3 points is not THAT big or THAT small so its your choice and once you sub class at 80 you get a free reset on skills anyways. So basically its your choice :D

@RoxasLikesAffairs I've played both. LaTale is always more cute (mostly emotions), has more fun skills, but not that many jobs. MapleStory has TOO MANY jobs, has a lot of skills as well, but is mostly grinding.

I'd actually say they're both good, but LaTale is more of a game for MMORPG newbies, since MapleStory doesn't provide you with enough money quests, while LaTale keeps you funded, as long as you do the quests. They're both still good for hardcore, though.

MapleStory= Pixelated, TOO MANY SKILLS, hard, trade with other people is the only way to make a decent amount of cash, 4 job advances, possibly more depending on job.

Basically: LaTale= Good for new players.

Maple Story= Hardcore all the way.

@RoxasLikesAffairs heres a quick tip, u notice how u said you've been playing maplestory way longer that might meen that latale is like new content and your escited about it. Like in maplestory when they release new stuff i go crazy about it but then settle for somthing in the middle. I've played latale and maplestory for a year almost completely equal and they are very different style games. Maplestory is way more popular, but both games are really great. so i think neither is the best.

One thing i love about latale is the fact that when it comes to ones class. I mean there is so much diversity when it comes to classes and wepons specializations. I have a bard and a gunslinger to be (explorer). The first run through with my bard was a bit shaky. But i made my goal in less than 2 weeks thanks to a very generous community latale holds. In my opinion if more maplestories came to latale they would ruin the game. I mean come on maplestory is already filled to the brink with idiots.

@myspaceuser567 but hey look at the bright side. instead of having the same weapon u had before, same skills just added 5 more, u can get a completely new type of weapon and all the old skills get replaced with new, better ones ( ofcourse u get a skill reset aswell). IMO i think its worth the questing( and barely no grinding).
