Okay I can't remember was there a special reason why Michael needed to go some knowledge of sailing? Because it seems rather risky to be going on that raft he is putting Walt in quite a bit of danger. If it was me I would stay behind with my child. If the raft makes it to people then they could come back to rescue others there is no reason to take the risk just to be the first one to leave. (Just based on what we know at this point for a regular island escape no supernatural stuff)
"Who will keep you safe?" :') My friend makes fun of me for watching this show and how it's such a waste of time. Then she walked in while I was watching this episode and this scene made her cry. Guess we're both losers! :)
When you think about it this is probably the last & only happy moment for everyone on the Island. After this it was pretty much all down hill from there...that is until they all came together in "The End"
But thats one of the MANY things that makes 'Lost' so great. The ups n downs and everything in between that reflected what life is. We go through life seeking "answers", sometimes never finding them, but really, in 'the end' we just want to be with the people who meant the most to us
I'm just sooo going to miss this show. It's affected me so deeply unlike anything else and this scene is testament to that. As they all say goodbye to each other i can't help but get emotional as we all say goodbye to the show. Parting words indeed.
@Moollii Word! I have never in my life been so emotionally invested in a tv show ever! For me there will never be anything like it again. I loved the finale. Cant believe all the haters. I couldnt even think about it the next day without crying.
@shortydog27 Amen, I didn't watch the show during its original run. It always interested me but I couldnt get into from various reason. First off I've never been a TV buff, I've always felt tv was a limited medium, especially in scope/scale & to a lesser degree on emotional levels. But boy 'Lost' just blew me away on every level, especially on an emotionally. Its sucks that some people hated the finale but its their loss. And from I could tell they watched the show for the wrong reasons
I think to appreciate this scene you have to take it out of the context of the show - the black smoke, jacob, dharma, the others - forget everything else. These were just a few people, from all walks of life and all colours, who crashed, and were scared, and wanted to go home, and they all pulled together. People were human to other people...and the beauty of this scene is that they finally have hope, when the mast goes up...it's incredible. Such an amazing scene, with great music.
bugger off smart arse comments about music.. this show is all about hurley

It's too bad the next couple of seconds just rips that good feeling away. That signal smoke was creepy as hell.
